Preparation of Pure Copper Powder from Acidic Copper Chloride Waste Etchant

The met.od for the recycling of copper from copper chloride solution was developed. This process consists of extraction of copper, purification and particle size reduction. In the first step, reductive met.l scraps were added to acidic copper chloride waste enchants produced in the PCB industry to obtain copper powder. Composition analysis showed that this powder contained impurities such as Fe, Ni, and water. So, drying and purification were carried out by using microwave and a centrifugal separator. Thereby the copper powder had a purity of higher than 99% and spherical form in morphology. The copper powder size was decreased by ball milling.

A series of liquid crystalline polymers with T-shaped two-dimensional mesogenic unitswere synthesized via low temperature solution polycondensation of 2-(4'-alkoxy-phenyl)hydroquinone with various diacyl dichlorides. The polymers were found to be nematic andshown thermotropic liquid crystalline behaviors through observations using DSC, polarizedmicroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The melting temperature T_m and the isotropizationtemperature T_i of the polymers change regularly with varying of the monomer structures.

Two series of new liquid crystalline polymers with T-shaped two-dimensional mesogenic units were synthesized by low temperature solution polycondensations of 4-substituted N-2, 5-dihydroxybenzylidene aniline monomers with different diacyl dichlorides. The polymers were found to be nematic and shown liquid crystalline behavior. The melting temperature T-m and the clearing temperature T-i of the polymers change regularly with varying of the monomer structures.

The paper studied the relationship between microstructure and shape recovery characteristics by using colored microstructure analysis under polarized light on the thermomechanical cycled CuAlNi single crystals. The two-way shape memory effect in quenched thin bar resulted from the preferential formation/extinction of martensite variant due to the internal quench stress, and the variant was formed at an angle of about 45 deg. with the tension direction ([001] of the βphase). Initial thermomechanical cycling under relatively low stress single variant stress-induced martensite was formed at an angle of 45 deg. with the tension and its morphology was a lath of parallel twins. More than one group of variants were formed after several training cycles and such variants also caused tilting of some thermally formed accommodated martensite. By overheating the trained sample containing stabilized multi-variants of stress-induced martensite, very coarse martensite structure with a strong asymmet.y was produced, which caused the reverse two-way shape memory effect.

The characteristics of microstructure changes during cavitation erosion (CE) were investigated by the use of XRD and TEM analyses for steel (ZG0Cr13Mn8N) with met.stable austenite. The results show that the microstructure of the surface layer of the specimens consists of α'-martensite, met.stable austenite and a few ε-martensite before CE. CE obviously increases dislocation density and straight or planar dislocations on the surface, and induces γ->ε,ε-> α' and γ->α'-martensitic transformation.

The microstructures and damping property of supersaturated ZnA127Ce alloy during natural aging have been investigated. H-800 TEM was mainly used to research the microstructures. The relationship between microstructure and damping property was primarily studied. The results showed that solution plus natural aging was the best heat treatment, which could improve the damping property. Both continuous precipitation and cellular reaction occurred during the aging. Continuous precipitation follows the sequence: β→spherical GP zones→elliptical GP zones→intermediate phase R→n. The cellular reaction can be written as follows:β→a+n+ε.

The (100) texture of solidified fcc met.ls, caused by the preferential (100) dendrite growth, could be closeIy related to solid/melt interfaces which behave differently along different crystallographic orientation. The stability and roughness of {111} and {100} solid/melt interfaces of fcc met.ls were investigated using a modified Temkin multi-layer model. It is demonstrated that {100}crystal/melt interface is more unstable and rougher than {111} interface. The effect of the stability of crystal/melt interface on the (100) texture formation in solidified fcc met.ls has been analysed and discussed.

On the basis of theoretical analysis and cold model test, the mater.al motion locus and the particle size which can be separated in the swirl shaft preheater was stud-ied. A new calculation met.od for separation efficiency based on the met.rial size distribution curve of charge and dis-charge stock from the shaft is discussed in this paper. The ex-perimental results show the mater.al separation is due to in-teraction of both the centrifugation and the gravity. When the inlet gas velocity is a constant, the separation efficiency will be raised as the load of batch feeding inreases. If the load of batch feeding is a constant, the separation efficiency will be decreased together with the elevation of the inlet gas. The loss of shaft resistence is increased when the separation effi-ciency is raised. In our experiment the suitable separation ef-ficiency of the shaft is about 70 percent.
