Secure Mobile Crowdsensing Based on Deep Learning

To improve the quality of multimedia services and stimulate secure sensing in Internet of Things applications, such as healthcare and traffic monitoring, mobile crowdsensing(MCS) systems must address security threats such as jamming, spoofing and faked sensing attacks during both sensing and information exchange processes in large-scale dynamic and heterogeneous networks. In this article, we investigate secure mobile crowdsensing and present ways to use deep learning(DL) methods, such as stacked autoencoder, deep neural networks, convolutional neural networks, and deep reinforcement learning, to improve approaches to MCS security, including authentication, privacy protection, faked sensing countermeasures, intrusion detection and anti-jamming transmissions in MCS. We discuss the performance gain of these DLbased approaches compared to traditional security schemes and identify the challenges that must be addressed to implement these approaches in practical MCS systems.

Environmental Sound Event Detection in Wireless Acoustic Sensor Networks for Home Telemonitoring

In this paper, we present an approach to improve the accuracy of environmental sound event detection in a wireless acoustic sensor network for home monitoring. Wireless acoustic sensor nodes can capture sounds in the home and simultaneously deliver them to a sink node for sound event detection. The proposed approach is mainly composed of three modules, including signal estimation, reliable sensor channel selection, and sound event detection. During signal estimation, lost packets are recovered to improve the signal quality. Next, reliable channels are selected using a multi-channel cross-correlation coefficient to improve the computational efficiency for distant sound event detection without sacrificing performance. Finally, the signals of the selected two channels are used for environmental sound event detection based on bidirectional gated recurrent neural networks using two-channel audio features. Experiments show that the proposed approach achieves superior performances compared to the baseline.

Analysis on topology control boundary conditions in delay tolerant wireless sensor networks

In wireless sensor networks(WSNs),nodes are often scheduled to alternate between working mode and sleeping mode from energy efficiency point of *** delay is tolerable,it is not necessary to preserve network connectivity during activity(working or sleeping) scheduling,enabling more sensors to be switched to sleeping mode and thus more energy *** this paper,the nodal behavior in such delay-tolerant WSNs(DT-WSNs) is modeled and *** maximum hop count with a routing path is derived in order not to violate a given sensor-to-sink delay constraint,along with extensive simulation results.

Energy Efficient Modelling of a Network

Most of the networks are generally less energy efficient and most of the time resources are underutilized. Even resources of busy networks are also underutilized and thus networks show energy inefficient management system. This paper focuses on how to obtain minimum resources for the current situation of the network to maintain connectivity, power saving and quality of service. Four different models are proposed in this perspective with different purposes and functions. These models determine the minimum resources under certain constrains. Two types of services namely, "minimum bandwidth" and "trivial file transfer" are considered. For "minimum bandwidth" service, minimum edge, minimum delay and minimum change models are proposed. Here data rate switch and enable/disable of edges are placed in these models for power saving strategy. Another model, multi flow is proposed for "trivial file transfer" service. It is proposed for transferring files through multiple flows in multiple paths from source to destination. All models except multi flow model are mixed integer programming optimization problem.

SFES: A scalable, fault-tolerant, efficient search scheme in a peer-to-peer network

This paper presents SFES: a scalable, fault-tolerant, efficient search scheme in a peer-to-peer network. The idea is based on the fact that data distribution in an information society has structured features. We designed an algorithm to cluster peers that have similar interests. When receiving a query request, a peer will preferentially forward it to another peer which belongs to the same cluster and shares more similar interests. By this method, search efficiency will be remarkably improved and at the same time good resistance against peer failure (the ability to withstand peer failure) is reserved. Keyword partial-match is supported, too.

Discovering High-Quality Threaded Discussions in Online Forums

Archives of threaded discussions generated by users in online forums and discussion boards contain valuable knowledge on various topics. However, not all threads are useful because of deliberate abuses, such as trolling and flaming, that are commonly observed in online conversations. The existence of various users with different levels of expertise also makes it difficult to assume that every discussion thread stored online contains high-quality contents. Although finding high-quality threads automatically can help both users and search engines sift through a huge amount of thread archives and make use of these potentially useful resources effectively, no previous work to our knowledge has performed a study on such task. In this paper, we propose an automatic method for distinguishing high-quality threads from low-quality ones in online discussion sites. We first suggest four different artificial measures for inducing overall quality of a thread based on ratings of its posts. We then propose two tasks involving prediction of thread quality without using post rating information. We adopt a popular machine learning framework to solve the two prediction tasks. Experimental results on a real world forum archive demonstrate that our method can significantly improve the prediction performance across all four measures of thread quality on both tasks. We also compare how different types of features derived from various aspects of threads contribute to the overall performance and investigate key features that play a crucial role in discovering high-quality threads in online discussion sites.

A finite difference method at arbitrary meshes for the bending of plates with variable thickness is presented in this paper. The method is completely general with respect to various boundary conditions, load cases and shapes of plates. This difference scheme is simple and the numerical results agree well with those obtained by other methods.

Public key based uniform access framework in 3G systems

This paper compares two types of access methods in 3G telecommunication systems, registration based access method and alternative access method. Through analyzing their common ground, we establish a public-key based uniform access framework, which combines different access methods into one unified model and provides more scalability and flexibility. Then an improved wireless authentication protocol is introduced into the framework, which gives an example of how unification is obtained by using public key technology. Since original protocol has flaws, an improved one is proposed based on security investigation. Improved authentication protocol overcomes the weakness of the original one, and maintains all the security features owned by old protocol. Finally, the feasibility of this framework is analyzed with consideration of current development in mobile telecommunication fields and the future trend of 3G systems. The result shows that public key technology has a promising future in 3G and Beyond 3G systems. It points out a new way for key management in future telecommunication systems.
