Efficacy evaluation of zirconia crown on primary molars with caries defects

Objective This study aimed to estimate the therapeutic effects of preformed metal crown (PMC) and prefabricated zirconia crowns (ZC) on decayed primary morals in children, as well as to analyze the possible influencing factors. Methods A retrospective cohort study was performed on the data of 192 patients (aged 3 to 8) in the stomatological Department of shenzhen Children’s Hospital from October 2021 to December 2021. The decayed mandibular first molars were selected and restored by vital-pulp therapy followed by PMC and ZC, including 96 cases (96 caries) in the PMC group and 96 cases (96 caries) in the ZC group. Oral clinical examination was performed at 3 months, 1 year, and 2 years after treatment, overwiewing the clinical therapeutic effects and periodontal status of PMC and ZC groups, as well as recording the crown integrity, gingival index (GI), probing bleeding index (BI), plaque index (PLI) and various prosthetic indices. Results No significance differences existed in the periodontal status of PMC and ZC groups at 3 months, 1 year, and 2 years after treatment (P>0.05). However, the GI, BI, and PLI in the PMC group were higher than those in the ZC group at 3 months, 1 year, and 2 years after treatment, and the difference was dramatically significant (Psignificances difference existed in various prosthetic indices (P>0.05), as well as in the GI, BI, and PLI, between the two groups (P>0.05). No significant differences existed in various prosthetic indices between genders after PMC restoration (P>0.05). The scores of girls in various prosthetic indices after ZC restoration were higher than those of boys (Pson correlation analysis indicated an inverse correlation between age in the PMC group and the GI, BI, PLI, and FDI indices (P0.05). Conclusion PMC and ZC can be applied to restore deciduous molar caries. The periodontal status of deciduous teeth in ZC group was superior to that in the PMC group. The

The significant demand for high quality food has motivated us to adopt appropriate processing methods to improve the food nutritional quality and *** this study,the effects of five drying methods,namely,pulsed vacuum drying(PvD),freeze drying(FD),infrared drying(IRD),hot-air drying(HAD)and sun drying(sD)on free amino acids(FAAs),α-dicarbonyl compounds(α-DCs)and volatile compounds(vOCs)in rape bee pollen(RBP)were *** results showed that FD significantly released the essential amino acids(EAAs)compared with fresh samples while sD caused the highest *** was the dominantα-DCs in RBP and the highest loss was observed after *** were the dominant volatiles of RBP and sD samples contained more new volatile substances(especially aldehydes)than the other four drying ***,FD and PvD would be potential methods to effectively reduce the quality deterioration of RBP in the drying process.

Assembly structures of coastal woody species of eastern south America:Patterns and drivers

Tropical regions have provided new insights into how ecological communities are *** dry coastal communities,water stress has been hypothesized to determine plant assembly structure by favoring preadapted lineages from neighboring ecosystems,consistent with functional ***,it is unclear whether this hypothesis is sufficient to explain how coastal communities in tropical ecosystems are ***,we test whether water stress or other factors drive community assembly in woody plant communities across the coastal zone of Brazil,a tropical *** characterized functional and phylogenetic structures of these communities and determined the underlying environmental factors(e.g.,water stress,historical climate stability,edaphic constraints,and habitat heterogeneity)that drive their community *** of coastal woody species show geographically varied patterns,including stochastic arrangements,clustering,and overdispersion of species relative to their traits and phylogenetic *** complexity,water vapor pressure,and soil nutrient availability best explained the gradient in the functional *** deficit,water vapor pressure,and soil organic carbon were the best predictors of variation in phylogenetic *** results support the water-stress conservatism hypothesis on functional and phylogenetic structure,as well as the effect of habitat heterogeneity on functional structure and edaphic constraints on functional and phylogenetic *** effects are associated with increased phenotypic and phylogenetic divergence of woody plant assemblages,which is likely mediated by abiotic filtering and niche opportunities,suggesting a complex pattern of ecological assembly.

spatio-Temporal service Analysis in Multi-Layer Non-Terrestrial Networks

In the advent of the 6G era, non-terrestrial networks (NTN) with expansive coverage are being increasingly recognized as a vital supplement to cellular networks for facilitating seamless communication. The intricate interplay between network performance and service quality necessitates a thorough investigation into the modeling and analysis of services for efficient construction of *** studies on service analysis, predominantly focused on terrestrial networks,fall short in addressing the unique challenges posed by NTN,particularly those related to platform distribution and antenna gain modeling. This deficiency in research,coupled with the varying preferences of users for different network types, forms the basis of this study. This paper explores the spatio-temporal characteristics of services within a multi-layered NTN *** this context,the spatial distribution of the platforms is modeled using a binomial point process, and the antennas are characterized by a sectorized beam pattern. We derive the closed-form expressions for the association probability,the number of accessed users, and the arrival rate of services with certain delay requirements towards different types of NTN. simulation results are provided to evaluate the influence of various parameters on the association probability, the number of accessed users, and the total arrival rate of services. The number of satellites can be determined to achieve the optimal system utility,balancing the accessed services, offloading effects, and launching costs. This initial investigation lays the groundwork for further theoretical progress in the service analysis and platform deployment of NTN.

Development and characterization of 3D-printed electroconductive pHEMA-co-MAA NP-laden hydrogels for tissue engineering

Tissue engineering(TE)continues to be widely explored as a potential solution to meet critical clinical needs for diseased tissue replacement and tissue *** this study,we developed a poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate-co-methacrylic acid)(pHEMA-co-MAA)based hydrogel loaded with newly synthesized conductive poly(3,4-ethylene-dioxythiophene)(PEDOT)and polypyrrole(PPy)nanoparticles(NPs),and subsequently processed these hydrogels into tissue engineered constructs via three-dimensional(3D)*** presence of the NPs was critical as they altered the rheological properties during ***,all samples exhibited suitable shear thinning properties,allowing for the development of an optimized processing window for 3D *** were 3D printed into pre-determined disk-shaped configurations of 2 and 10 mm in height and diameter,*** observed that the NPs disrupted the gel crosslinking efficiencies,leading to shorter degradation times and compressive mechanical properties ranging between 450 and 550 *** conductivity of the printed hydrogels increased along with the NP concentration to(5.10±0.37)×10^(−7)s/*** vitro studies with cortical astrocyte cell cultures demonstrated that exposure to the pHEMA-co-MAA NP hydrogels yielded high cellular viability and proliferation ***,hydrogel antimicrobial studies with staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria revealed that the developed hydrogels affected bacterial *** together,these materials show promise for various TE strategies.

High-performance formaldehyde prediction for indoor air quality assessment using time series deep learning

Indoor air pollution resulting from volatile organic compounds(vOCs),especially formaldehyde,is a significant health concern needed to predict indoor formaldehyde concentration(Cf)in green intelligent building *** study develops a thermal and wet coupling calculation model of porous fabric to account for the migration of formaldehyde molecules in indoor air and cotton,silk,and polyester fabric with heat flux in Harbin,Beijing,Xi’an,shanghai,Guangzhou,and Kunming,*** time-by-time indoor dry-bulb temperature(T),relative humidity(RH),and Cf,obtained from verified simulations,were collated and used as input data for the long short-term memory(LsTM)of the deep learning model that predicts indoor multivariate time series Cf from the secondary source effects of indoor fabrics(adsorption and release of formaldehyde).The trained LsTM model can be used to predict multivariate time series Cf at other emission times and *** LsTM-based model also predicted Cf with mean absolute percentage error(MAPE),symmetric mean absolute percentage error(sMAPE),mean absolute error(MAE),mean square error(MsE),and root mean square error(RMsE)that fell within 10%,10%,0.5,0.5,and 0.8,*** addition,the characteristics of the input dataset,model parameters,the prediction accuracy of different indoor fabrics,and the uncertainty of the data set are *** results show that the prediction accuracy of single data set input is higher than that of temperature and humidity input,and the prediction accuracy of LsTM is better than recurrent neural network(RNN).The method’s feasibility was established,and the study provides theoretical support for guiding indoor air pollution control measures and ensuring human health and safety.

Effects of thinning and understory removal on water use efficiency of Pinus massoniana:evidence from photosynthetic capacity and stable carbon isotope analyses

Understanding the relationship between forest management and water use efficiency(WUE)is important for evaluating forest adaptability to climate ***,the effects of thinning and understory removal on WUE and its key controlling processes are not well understood,which limits our comprehension of the physiological mechanisms of various management *** this study,four forest management measures(no thinning:NT;understory removal:UR;light thinning:LT;and heavy thinning:HT)were carried out in Pinus massoniana plantations in a subtropical region of *** capacity and needle stable carbon isotope composition(δ^(13)C)were measured to assess instantaneous water use efficiency(WUE_(inst))and long-term water use efficiency(WUE_(i)).Multiple regression models and structural equation modelling(sEM)identified the effects of soil properties and physiological performances on WUE_(inst)and WUE_(i).The results show that WUE_(inst)values among the four treatments were ***,compared with the NT stand(35.8μmol·mol^(-1)),WUE_(i)values significantly increased to 41.7μmol·mol^(-1)in the UR,50.1μmol·mol^(-1)in the LT and 46.6μmol·mol^(-1)in HT treatments,largely explained by photosynthetic capacity and soil water *** removal did not change physiological performance(needle water potential and photosynthetic capacity).Thinning increased the net photosynthetic rate(A_n)but not stomatal conductance(g_s)or predawn needle water potential(ψ_(pd)),implying that the improvement in water use efficiency for thinned stands was largely driven by radiation interception than by soil water *** general,thinning may be an appropriate management measure to promote *** WUE to cope with seasonal droughts under future extreme climates.
