The stability constants of the ternary mixed ligand complex Cu(pdphen)(ATP)(2-), where pdphen is the planar ligand pyrido[3,2-f][1,7] phenanthroline, were determined by potentiometric pH titration in water,and in 30 and 50%(v/v) aqueous dioxane solutions. It has been observed from this information that a stronger stacking interaction between pdphen and the base pf ATP exists and decreases with decreasing selvent polarity i.e.,inereasing amounts of dioxane in the solvent mixture.

A three-dimensional diagram shows that the association constants (Ka) for the inclusionof a- and 6-CD with substitUted benzene are mainly correIated with the molar refraction (R.) andhydrophobic constant (%) of the substitUents of guest compounds. It reveals that the inclusion ofcyclodextrin with the substitUted benzene is dondnantly driYen by van der Waals forces andhydrophobic interactions.

For the first time, LB films containing Eu(TTA)3Phen are obtained by using composite subphase. Eu(TTA)3Phen itself is dimcult to be transferred onto solid *** or alternate LB films are prepared. Hydrogen bonds form between Eu(TTA)3Phen and AA or TPP(-COOH). TOPO and SB have a fluorcscence enhanGement effect on Eu(TTA)3Phen. TPP(-COOH) and Fc have a fluorescence quenching effect on it.

It is generally thought that a single ejaculate is a bad predictor of semen quality of a subject, because of significant intra-individual variation. Therefore, we investigated the degree to which the results of a first semen analysis differ from that of a second analysis among men from a how the two different semen results mirrored the overall general population in Norway. In addition, we analysed semen quality assessment. A total of 199 volunteers participated in the study and delivered two semen samples with an interval of 6 months. The semen parameters were determined according to the World Health Organization （WHO） 1999 guidelines, which were also used to determine whether semen quality was normal or abnormal. In addition, the DNA fragmentation index （DFI） was determined using the Sperm Chromatin Structure Assay. The two samples from each individual were very similar with regard to standard semen parameters and DFI （rs： 0.67-0.72）, and there were no significant systematic differences between the two samples. The result of the first sample （normal/abnormal） was highly predictive of the overall conclusion based on the two samples （sperm concentration： in 93% of the cases （95% confidence interval [CI]： 89%-96%）; sperm motility： in 85% of the cases （95% CI： 79%-89%）; overall semen quality： in 85% of the cases （95% CI： 80%-90%）. In epidemiological studies, one ejaculate is a sufficient indicator of semen quality in a group of subjects. In a clinical situation, when the question is whether the semen quality is normal or not, the first ejaculate will, in at least 85% of cases, give a correct overall conclusion.

The interaction of beta-cyclodextrin(beta-CD), hydroxypropyl-beta-CD and gamma-CD with the drug rutin has been investigated by using fluorimetry. The stoichiometry of the complexes and their formation constants have been estimated. The thermodynamic parameters for the formation of complexes were obtained. The complexing ability of HP-beta-CD is remarkably stronger than beta-CD and gamma-CD.

The binding of Rulpdphen2+ to calf thymus DNA was inveatigated using absorption fluorescence and CD spectroscopies, where pdphen is the planar ligand pyrido[3. 2- f] [1, 7] phenanthroline,L=2, 2' -bipyridine, phenanthroline. 2, 9-dimethyl phenanthroline and 5-nitro-phenanthroline. All coordination componds show abaorption typochromicity associated with binding to calf thymus DNA .Ru(bipy) pdphen3+ and Rn (phen) pdphen+ also show fluoreacence intensities and excited state lifetime Increase becanse of the interaction of coordination compounds with calf thymus DNA .CD apectra of dialylatea indicate enantioselectivity associated withe binding to DNA .

The binding of coordination compound Ru(phen) to calf thymus DNA andherring Aparm DNA has been investigated by absorption,emission and of circulardichroism,spectroscopy. Measurement ot enantioselectivily combvined with photophysical experiment shows the bindins of Ru(phen),with calf thymus DNA is ofintercaiatively bound .mode but the binding of Ru(Phen),with herring spermDNA is of surface-bound mode.
