The rapid economic growth,urbanization,and industrialization have led to a scarcity of land resources in coastal areas,exacerbating the conflict between humans and the environment.In order to promote economic development,attention has turned to the sea,and various coastal engineering projects have been undertaken,sparking a wave of land reclamation.However,while these efforts bring economic and social benefits,they also have implications for ecological relationships.To respond to and plan for changes in the coastline and land cover in a timely manner,this paper proposes and constructs a GIS system that integrates remote sensing image recognition models.The system combines geographic information system development technology with image recognition technology,streamlining the processing and identification of image data.This approach is particularly advantageous for marine management departments in their long-term monitoring and dynamic management of coastal lines,ensuring a more effective and efficient response.

The combination of urbanization and global warming leads to urban overheating and compounds the frequency and intensity of extreme heat events due to climate change.Yet,the risk of urban overheating can be mitigated by urban green-blue-grey infrastructure(GBGI),such as parks,wetlands,and engineered greening,which have the potential to effectively reduce summer air temperatures.Despite many reviews,the evidence bases on quantified GBGI cooling benefits remains partial and the practical recommendations for implementation are unclear.This systematic literature review synthesizes the evidence base for heat mitigation and related co-benefits,identifies knowledge gaps,and proposes recommendations for their implementation to maximize their benefits.After screening 27,486 papers,202 were reviewed,based on 51 GBGI types categorized under 10 main divisions.Certain GBGI(green walls,parks,street trees)have been well researched for their urban cooling capabilities.However,several other GBGI have received negligible(zoological garden,golf course,estuary)or minimal(private garden,allotment)attention.The most efficient air cooling was observed in botanical gardens(5.0±3.5℃),wetlands(4.9±3.2℃),green walls(4.1±4.2℃),street trees(3.8±3.1℃),and vegetated balconies(3.8±2.7℃).Under changing climate conditions(2070–2100)with consideration of RCP8.5,there is a shift in climate subtypes,either within the same climate zone(e.g.,Dfa to Dfb and Cfb to Cfa)or across other climate zones(e.g.,Dfb[continental warm-summer humid]to BSk[dry,cold semi-arid]and Cwa[temperate]to Am[tropical]).These shifts may result in lower efficiency for the current GBGI in the future.Given the importance of multiple services,it is crucial to balance their functionality,cooling performance,and other related co-benefits when planning for the future GBGI.This global GBGI heat mitigation inventory can assist policymakers and urban planners in prioritizing effective interventions to reduce the risk of urban overheating,filling research gaps,and promoting community resi

A field enhanced flow reactor using bias assisted photocatalysis was developed for bacterial disinfection in lab-synthesized and natural waters. The reactor provided complete inactivation of contaminated waters with flow rates of 50 mL/min. The device consisted of titanium dioxide nanotube arrays, with an externally applied bias of up to 6 V. Light intensity, applied voltage, background electrolytes and bacteria concentration were all found to impact the device performance. Complete inactivation of Escherichia coli W3110（- 8 × 10^3CFU/mL） occurred in 15 sec in the reactor irradiated at 25 mW/cm^2 with an applied voltage of 4 V in a 100 ppm NaCl solution. Real world testing was conducted using source water from Emigration Creek in Salt Lake City, Utah. Disinfection of natural creek water proved more challenging, providing complete bacterial inactivation after 25 sec at 6 V. A reduction in bactericidal efficacy was attributed to the presence of inorganic and organic species, as well as the increase in robustness of natural bacteria.

This paper develops a Bayesian inference-based probabilistic crack nucleation model for the Ni-based superalloy René88DT under fatigue loading.A data-driven,machine learning approach is developed,identifying underlying mechanisms driving crack nucleation.An experimental set of fatigue-loaded microstructures is characterized near crack nucleation sites using scanning electron microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction images for correlating the grain morphology and crystallography to the location of crack nucleation sites.A concurrent multiscale model,embedding experimental polycrystalline microstructural representative volume elements(RVEs)in a homogenized material,is developed for fatigue simulations.The RVE domain is modeled by a crystal plasticity finite element model.An anisotropic continuum plasticity model,obtained by homogenization of the crystal plasticity model,is used for the exterior domain.A Bayesian classification method is introduced to optimally select informative state variable predictors of crack nucleation.From this principal set of state variables,a simple scalar crack nucleation indicator is formulated.

Both ionic solutions under an external applied static electric field E and glassy-forming liquids under undercooled state are in non-equilibrium state.In this work,molecular dynamics(MD)simulations with three aqueous alkali ion chloride(NaCl,KCl,and RbCl)ionic solutions are performed to exploit whether the glass-forming liquid analogous fractional variant of the Stokes–Einstein relation also exists in ionic solutions under E.Our results indicate that the diffusion constant decouples from the structural relaxation time under E,and a fractional variant of the Stokes–Einstein relation is observed as well as a crossover analogous to the glass-forming liquids under cooling.The fractional variant of the Stokes–Einstein relation is attributed to the E introduced deviations from Gaussian and the nonlinear effect.

Based on the construction bridge of Xiamen-Shenzhen high-speed railway(9-32 m simply-supported beam + 6×32 m continuous beam),the pier-beam-track finite element model,where the continuous beam of the ballast track and simply-supported beam are combined with each other,was established.The laws of the track stress,the pier longitudinal stress and the beam-track relative displacement were analyzed.The results show that reducing the longitudinal resistance can effectively reduce the track stress and the pier stress of the continuous beam,and increase the beam-track relative displacement.Increasing the rigid pier stiffness of continuous beam can reduce the track braking stress,increase the pier longitudinal stress and reduce the beam-track relative displacement,Increasing the rigid pier stiffness of simply-supported beam can reduce the track braking stress,the rigid pier longitudinal stress and the beam-track relative displacement.

Ionic liquids usually behave as fragile liquids,and the temperature dependence of their dynamic properties obeys supper-Arrhenius law.In this work,a dynamic crossover is observed in([VIO^(2+)][Tf_(2)N-]_(2)) ionic liquid at the temperature of 240-800 K.The diffusion coefficient does not obey a single Arrhenius law or a Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann(VFT) relation,but can be well fitted by three Arrhenius laws or a combination of a VFT relation and an Arrhenius law.The origin of the dynamic crossover is analyzed from correlation,structure,and thermodynamics.Ion gets a stronger backward correlation at a lower temperature,as shown by the fractal dimension of the random walk.The temperature dependence function of fractal dimension,heterogeneity order parameter,and thermodynamic data can be separated into three regions similar to that observed in the diffusion coefficient.The two crossover temperatures observed in the three types of data are almost the same as that in diffusion coefficient fitted by three Arrhenius laws.The results indicate that the dynamic crossover of[VIO2+][Tf2 N-]2 is attributed to the heterogeneous structure when it undergoes cooling.

Evapotranspiration constitutes more than 80% of the long-term water balance in Northern China.In this area,crop transpiration due to large areas of agriculture and irrigation is responsible for the majority of evapotranspiration.A model for crop transpiration is therefore essential for estimating the agricultural water consumption and understanding its feedback to the environment.However,most existing hydrological models usually calculate transpiration by relying on parameter calibration against local observations,and do not take into account crop feedback to the ambient environment.This study presents an optimality-based ecohydrology model that couples an ecological hypothesis,the photosynthetic process,stomatal movement,water balance,root water uptake and crop senescence,with the aim of predicting crop characteristics,CO2 assimilation and water balance based only on given meteorological data.Field experiments were conducted in the Weishan Irrigation District of Northern China to evaluate performance of the model.Agreement between simulation and measurement was achieved for CO2 assimilation,evapotranspiration and soil moisture content.The vegetation optimality was proven valid for crops and the model was applicable for both C3 and C4 plants.Due to the simple scheme of the optimality-based approach as well as its capability for modeling dynamic interactions between crops and the water cycle without prior vegetation information,this methodology is potentially useful to couple with the distributed hydrological model for application at the watershed scale.

A stochastic averaging technique is proposed to study the randomly excited single-degree-of-freedom(SDOF) strongly nonlinear systems with delayed feedback fractional-order proportional-derivative(PD) controller. The delayed feedback fractional-order PD control force is approximated by an equivalent non-delay feedback control force combining with a quasi-linear elastic force and a quasi-linear damping force. The averaged It? stochastic differential equation for amplitude of the equivalent nonlinear system is derived by the generalized harmonic functions. The analytical stationary probability density function(PDF) is obtained with solving the reduced Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov(FPK) equation. Two examples of van der Pol oscillator and RayleighDuffing oscillator are studied to illustrate the application and effectiveness of the proposed method. Numerical results display that the proposed method can yield to the high precision, and the time delay could ruin the control effectiveness, but also even amplifies the response of the system more than that of uncontrolled system. Furthermore, the study finds that the parameters of fractional-order α and time delay may cause the stochastic P-bifurcation.
