The methanol-to-olefins(MTO)reaction offers an alternative pathway for the production of low-carbon olefins from non-oil *** research has been impeded by a lack of comprehensive understanding of its underlying mechanism,despite the significant progress made in ***-situ solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance(ss NMR)spectroscopy has emerged as a pivotal tool,offering crucial insights into key species under real-time operando ***,the host–guest interaction between zeolites or surface species residing on zeolites and the reactant/active intermediates is revealed by the combination of in-situ^(13)C MAS NMR and 2D correlation ***,recent technological advancements in hyperpolarization(HP)methods,including HP^(129)Xe NMR and dynamic nuclear polarization(DNP),have significantly improved the sensitivity of ssNMR,enabling detailed structural and kinetic analysis as well as the detection of trace *** this feature article,we summarized recent advancements in(in-situ)ssNMR spectroscopy applied to MTO reaction processes,encompassing mechanistic investigations at various stages and the intricate host–guest *** theoretical insights into the dynamic evolution of MTO reactions lay a solid foundation for the optimization of catalytic processes and the development of efficient catalysts,thereby advancing the techniques towards more sustainable and economical production route for olefins.

High-performance MXene-based polymer nanocomposites are well-suited for various industrial applications owing to their excellent mechanical,thermal,and other ***,the fabrication of flame-retardant polymer/MXene nanocom-posites remains challenging owing to the limited flame-retardant properties of MXene *** study prepared a novel MXene@Ag@PA hybrid material via radiation modification and complexation *** material was used to further enhance the key properties of ethylene-vinyl acetate(EVA),such as its mechanical properties,thermal conductivity,flame retardancy,and electromagnetic *** addition of two parts of this hybrid material increased the thermal conduc-tivity of EVA by 44.2%and reduced its peak exothermic rate during combustion by 30.1%compared with pure *** material also significantly reduced smoke production and increased the residue *** the X-band,the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the EVA composites reached 20 ***,the MXene@Ag@PA hybrid material could be used to further enhance the mechanical properties of EVA composites under electron-beam ***,this study contributes to the development of MXene-based EVA advanced materials that are fire-safe,have high strength,and exhibit good electromagnetic shielding performance for various applications.

Tanreqing Injection Inhibits Activation of NLRP3 Inflammasome in Macrophages Infected with Influenza A Virus by Promoting Mitophagy

Objective: To investigate the inhibitory effect of Tanreqing Injection(TRQ) on the activation of nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3) inflammasome in macrophages infected with influenza A virus and the underlying mechanism based on mitophagy pathway. Methods:The inflammatory model of murine macrophage J774A.1 induced by influenza A virus [strain A/Puerto Rico/8/1934(H1N1), PR8] was constructed and treated by TRQ, while the mitochondria-targeted antioxidant Mito-TEMPO and autophagy specific inhibitor 3-methyladenine(3-MA) were used as controls to intensively study the anti-inflammatory mechanism of TRQ based on mitophagy-mitochondrial reactive oxygen species(mt ROS)-NLRP3 inflammasome pathway. The levels of NLRP3, Caspase-1 p20, microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 Ⅱ(LC3Ⅱ) and P62 proteins were measured by Western blot. The release of interleukin-1β(IL-1β) was tested by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay, the mt ROS level was detected by flow cytometry, and the immunofluorescence and co-localization of LC3 and mitochondria were observed under confocal laser scanning microscopy. Results: Similar to the effect of Mito-TEMPO and contrary to the results of 3-MA treatment, TRQ could significantly reduce the expressions of NLRP3, Caspase-1 p20, and autophagy adaptor P62, promote the expression of autophagy marker LC3Ⅱ, enhance the mitochondrial fluorescence intensity, and inhibit the release of mt ROS and IL-1β(all P<0.01).Moreover, LC3 was co-localized with mitochondria, confirming the type of mitophagy. Conclusion: TRQ could reduce the level of mt ROS by promoting mitophagy in macrophages infected with influenza A virus, thus inhibiting the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome and the release of IL-1β, and attenuating the inflammatory response.

The regulatory network and critical factors promoting programmed cell death during embryogenesis

Programmed cell death(PCD)is essential for animal and plant ***,the knowledge of the mechanism regulating PCD in plants remains limited,largely due to technical ***,we determined that the protease NtCP14 could trigger PCD in the embryonic suspensor of tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum),providing a unique opportunity to overcome the limitations by creating synchronous two-celled proembryos with ongoing PCD for transcriptome analysis and regulatory factor ***,we performed comparative transcriptome analysis using isolated two-celled proembryos and explored the potential regulatory network underlying NtCP14-triggered *** phytohormones,calcium,microtubule organization,the immunity system,soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor proteins,long non-coding RNAs and alternative splicing are addressed as critical factors involved in the early stage of suspensor *** thought to play crucial roles in suspensor PCD are ***,decreased antioxidant gene expression and increased reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels during suspensor PCD suggest a critical role for ROS signaling in the initiation of NtCP14-triggered ***,five genes in the regulatory network are recommended as immediate downstream elements of ***,our analysis outlines an overall molecular network underlying protease-triggered PCD and provides a reliable database and valuable clues for targeting elements immediately downstream of NtCP14 to overcome technical bottlenecks and gain deep insight into the molecular mechanism regulating plant PCD.

Precision storage lifetime measurements of highly charged heavy ions in the CSRe storage ring using a Schottky resonator

Schottky mass spectrometry utilizing heavy-ion storage rings is a powerful technique for the precise mass and decay half-life measurements of highly charged *** to the nondestructive ion detection features of Schottky noise detectors,the number of stored ions in the ring is determined by the peak area in the measured revolution frequency *** of their intrinsic amplitude-frequency characteristic(AFC),Schottky detector systems exhibit varying sensitivities at different *** low-energy electron-cooled stored ions,a new method is developed to calibrate the AFC curve of the Schottky detector system of the Experimental Cooler Storage Ring(CSRe)storage ring located in Lanzhou,*** the amplitude-calibrated frequency spectrum,a notable refinement was observed in the precision of both the peak position and peak *** a result,the storage lifetimes of the electron-cooled fully ionized^(56)Fe^(26+)ions were determined with high precision at beam energies of 13.7 and 116.4 MeV/u,despite of frequency drifts during the *** electron cooling was turned off,the effective vacuum condition experienced by the 116.4 MeV/u^(56)Fe^(26+)ions was determined using amplitude-calibrated spectra,revealing a value of 2×10^(−10)mbar,which is consistent with vacuum gauge readings along the CSRe *** method reported herein will be adapted for the next-generation storage ring of the HIAF facility under construction in Huizhou,*** can also be adapted to other storage ring facilities worldwide to improve precision and enhance lifetime measurements using many ions in the ring.

Promising effects of Persian shallot extract on the serum markers and blood pressure of patients with metabolic syndrome:a double-blinded randomized controlled trial

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effect of Persian shallot extract on the serum markers and blood pressure of patients with metabolic syndrome(MetS). METHODS: Fifty patients with Met S diagnosis were randomly assigned to the intervention(Persian shallot extract) and the control(placebo) group. Both groups received treatment for three months. Before the study and at the end of the study, 5 mL peripheral blood was taken from each patient. The measured factors included total antioxidant capacity(TAC), superoxide dismutase enzyme(SOD), malondialdehyde, oxidized low-density lipoprotein(Ox-LDL), apolipoprotein H(Apo-H), fasting blood glucose(FBS), total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein(HDL), LDL, and systolic and diastolic blood pressure. RESULTS: At baseline, the evaluated parameters were not significantly different between the intervention and control groups. At the end of the study, the mean serum levels of malondialdehyde and ox-LDL were significantly lower in the intervention group. The mean FBS, cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL were significantly lower in the intervention group. The mean TAC and HDL were significantly higher in the intervention group(P < 0.05). Moreover, the intervention group significantly reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure. No other significant association was observed. CONCLUSION: Persian shallot extract has several beneficial effects in Met S patients, including optimizing oxidative balance, reducing blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, and blood lipid profile.

Exploring the diversity of dissolved organic matter(DOM)properties and sources in different functional areas of a typical macrophyte-derived lake combined with optical spectroscopy and FT-ICR MS analysis

Lake Baiyangdian is one of China’s largest macrophyte-derived lakes,facing severe challenges related to water quality maintenance and eutrophication *** organic matter(DOM)was a huge carbon pool and its abundance,property,and transformation played important roles in the biogeochemical cycle and energy flow in lake *** this study,Lake Baiyangdian was divided into four distinct areas:Unartificial Area(UA),Village Area(VA),Tourism Area(TA),and Breeding Area(BA).We examined the diversity of DOM properties and sources across these functional *** findings reveal that DOM in this lake is predominantly composed of protein-like substances,as determined by excitation-emission matrix and parallel factor analysis(EEM-PARAFAC).Notably,the exogenous tyrosine-like component C1 showed a stronger presence in VA and BA compared to UA and ***-resolution mass spectrometry(FT-ICR MS)unveiled a similar DOM molecular composition pattern across different functional areas due to the high relative abundances of lignan compounds,suggesting that macrophytes significantly influence the material structure of *** properties exhibited specific associations with water quality indicators in various functional areas,as indicated by the Mantel *** connections between DOM properties and NO_(3)-N andNH3-Nwere more pronounced in VA and BA than in UA and *** results underscore the viability of using DOM as an indicator for more precise and scientific water quality management.

Seismites of the Late Triassic Lockatong Formation,Pennsylvania,USA:implications for Newark Basin border fault movement

Numerous soft-sediment deformation structures(SSDS) within thin-bedded, heterolithic lacustrine shoreline deposits of the Upper Triassic Tumble Falls Member, Lockatong Formation of eastern Pennsylvania, demonstrate liquefaction, fluidization and shearing features processes affecting sediment. This study employs thin-section analysis of SSDS to interpret them as probable seismites from the Triassic-Jurassic Newark Basin. Sedimentary structures include right-lateral offset of desiccation cracks and ichnofossils, thrust,reverse, and normal faults with mm-scale offsets, horsts and grabens, lateral spreads, and single and complex multiple networks of dikes and sills and associated sedimentary volcanoes, thin mudflows on a paleosurface linked to sediment dikes, load and flame structures, ball and pillow structures, recumbent folds, and incipient breccias. Dike fill consists of mudstone, angular sedimentary clasts, sandstone margins with mudstone cores,and plastically deformed sediment fill. The SSDS indicate that Late Triassic lacustrine shoreline sediments were subjected to forces, probably compressive with a minimal shear component reflected in the offset of the dikes and ichnofossils, that induced liquefaction followed by fluidization and vertical movement of *** forces that altered sediment vertical stability, leading to deformation of the sediment included gravitationally unstable density gradients, vertical shear stress, and gravitational body forces. SSDS can be induced by seismic and aseismic processes. However, this unique combination of forces and resulting sedimentary structures indicate an origin by earthquake activity, likely produced by the nearby, active Newark Basin border fault system. The Lockatong Formation SSDS seismites improve our understanding via thin section analysis of the rheology and preservation potential of SSDS in lacustrine shoreline deposits, critical for the geologic history of Newark Basin, as well as the refinement for paleos

Rainfall impacts on nonpoint nitrogen and phosphorus dynamics in an agricultural river in subtropical montane reservoir region of southeast China

The increased frequency and intensity of heavy rainfall events due to climate change could potentially influence the movement of nutrients from land-based regions into recipient ***,little information is available on how the rainfall affect nutrient dynamics in subtropicalmontane rivers with complex land *** study conducted high-frequency monitoring to study the effects of rainfall on nutrients dynamics in an agricultural river draining to Lake Qiandaohu,a montane reservoir of southeast *** results showed that riverine total nitrogen(TN)and total phosphorus(TP)concentrations increased continuously with increasing rainfall intensity,while TN:TP *** heavy rainfall and rainstorm drove more than 30%of the annual N and P loading in only 5.20%of the total rainfall period,indicating that increased storm runoff is likely to exacerbate eutrophication in montane ***_(3)^(−)-N is the primary nitrogen form lost,while particulate phosphorus(PP)dominated phosphorus *** source of N is cropland,and themain source of P is residential ***,forestedwatersheds have better drainage quality,while it is still a potential source of nonpoint pollution during rainfall *** and TP concentrations were significantly higher at sites dominated by cropland and residential area,indicating their substantial contributions to deteriorating river water ***,TN and TP concentrations reached high values in May-August when rainfall was most intense,while they were lower in autumn and winter than that in spring and summer under the same rainfall *** results emphasize the influence of rainfall-runoff and land use on dynamics of riverine N and P loads,providing guidance for nutrient load reduction planning for Lake Qiandaohu.
