Background Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease that can lead to deformities and disabilities. Better detection and early diagnosis of leprosy is a public health priority that requires attention. This study aimed to identify the cluster of leprosy symptoms with a higher risk to provide reference of leprosy *** Leprosy symptomatic surveillance was conducted in ten districts of Shenzhen from 2010 to 2023 to detect suspected leprosy cases at all public medical institutions. Data on socio-demographic characteristics, patient symptoms, and relevant test results were collected. Cluster analysis and logistic regression were *** A total of 3459 leprosy patients were notified in Shenzhen, with the prevalence of 3.87%(134/3459). Eight common symptoms of leprosy and positivity rates were identified:(NO.1) chronic skin diseases that have not been diagnosed or cured for a long time(86.9%, 3007/3459);(NO.2) local dryness or paraesthesia of the skin(12.8%, 444/3459);(NO.3) thinning eyebrows with a drunken face(7.4%,256/3459);(NO.4) swelling or nodules on the face or earlobes(4.2%, 144/3459);(NO.5) edema or nodular erythema lesion(5.4%, 188/3459);(NO.6) coarse, painful or tender nerves(2.0%, 69/3459);(NO.7) painless wounds, sores, or easy burns on the hands or feet(3.1%, 107/3459);(NO.8) the eyes are not closed, the mouth angle is skewed, the palm finger muscle is atrophied or the claw hand, foot and other visible deformities of the face, hands and feet(0.8%, 29/3459). As a high-risk trauma,deep burns are always hindered in their repair process by decreased tissue regeneration capacity and persistent *** this study,we developed a simultaneous strategy for deep burn wounds treatment using functional nanovesicles with antibacterial and tissue remodeling properties,delivered via a click-chemistry *** aggregation-induced emission photosensitizer of 4-(2-(5-(4-(diphenylamino)phenyl)thiophen-2-yl)vinyl)-1-(2-hydroxyethyl)pyridin-1-ium bromide(THB)with excellent photodynamic properties was first prepared,and then combined with readily accessible adipose stem cells-derived nanovesicles to generate the THB functionalized nanovesicles(THB@ANVs).The THB@ANVs showed strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria(up to 100%killing rate),and also beneficial effects on tissue remodeling,including promoting cell migration,cell proliferation,and regulating *** addition,we prepared a click-hydrogel of carboxymethyl chitosan for effective delivery of THB@ANVs on *** hydrogel could be injected to conform to the wound morphology while responding to the acidic *** vivo evaluations of wound healing revealed that the THB@ANVs hydrogel dressing efficiently accelerated the healing of second-degree burn wounds by reducing bacterial growth,regulating inflammation,promoting early angiogenesis,and collagen *** study provides a promising candidate of wound dressing with diverse functions for deep burn wound repair.

Introduction: Kaposi sarcoma disease is a proliferative and multifocal disorder with dual components, vascular and fibroblastic cellular, cutaneous and visceral expression. Kaposi Sarcoma can affect the ocular surface and adnexa and can masquerade as other entities, delaying prompt diagnosis can lead to diagnostic wandering delaying treatment. Our aim is to describe a case of KS of the eyelid in an HIV seronegative patient. Case Presentation: A seventy-year-old man developed a bilateral growing tumoral reddish purple vascular mass on both the lower and upper eyelid involving rapidly for 6 months. Both feet and the two shanks show the presence of a brown-violet tumor-shaped formation. The patient was negative for HIV. Histology examination showed a nodular tumor-like mass with a fibro hemangioma-epitheliomatous. Polymerase chain reaction was positive for human herpes virus 8. Initial chemotherapy followed by surgery was proposed to the patient. Unfortunately, the patient rejected treatment and was lost to follow-up. Conclusion: This case reports the difficulty of managing KS in developing countries.

To the Editor:Actinic keratosis(AK)is a precancerous skin condition caused by chronic exposure to ultraviolet *** mainly occurs on sun-exposed areas like the head and face,leading to cosmetic concerns and an increased risk of progressing to primary squamous cell carcinoma(with a 0.60%risk at 1 year and 2.57%risk at 4 years).[1]Photodynamic therapy(PDT)is a targeted,non-invasive therapy that has been approved in Europe for the treatment of AK,squamous cell carcinoma in situ,and basal cell carcinomas.5-Aminolaevulinic acid(ALA)-based PDT,which utilizes the photosensitizer ALA,has shown high cure rates,low recurrence rates,and favorable cosmetic outcomes as arst-line treatment for AK.[1]However,due to variations in skin color,ethnicity,and lifestyle habits,the incidence of AK is lower among Asians compared to Caucasians.[1]There are limited clinical studies on PDT for AK in Asia—particularly lacking large-scale multicenter *** knowledge gap hinders the establishment of treatment standards specically tailored for Asian patients with AK undergoing ***,as the aging population increases in Asia,the incidence of AK demand for medical intervention among Asians is also rising *** conducted this multicenter study aiming to comprehensively investigate the efcacy and safety of ALA-PDT in Chinese patients with AK.

Evaluation of Serum Soluble CD27 and CXCL10 Levels in Patients With Vitiligo:A Cross-Sectional Study

Objective:Vitiligo is a relatively common skin disfiguring disorder that exhibits a fluctuating course between activity and stability,making monitoring and management *** plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of *** autoimmune disorders have been associated with both CD27 and chemokine(C-X-C motif)ligand 10(CXCL10).However,trials evaluating their role in vitiligo are lacking in the Egyptian *** evaluated the circulating levels of these 2 biomarkers in patients with vitiligo and the possible correlation between their levels and disease ***:This cross-sectional study included 70 patients with vitiligo and 20 healthy *** patients were clinically assessed and then divided into active and stable groups according to clinical signs of activity and Vitiligo Disease Activity *** levels of CD27 and CXCL10 in the serum were assessed using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in both the patients and the controls,then the Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used to analyze the difference between the ***:Active and stable vitiligo patients have significantly higher median serum CXCL10(385.9 and 245.2 pg/mL)and CD27(61.6 and 66.5 ng/mL)levels compared to the controls(193 pg/mL and 52.5 ng/mL,respectively,all P<0.05).In vitiligo cases,although CXCL10 levels significantly increased with disease activity(P<0.001),CD27 levels were comparable between the 2 subgroups(P=0.953).CXCL10 positively correlated with disease activity(r=0.887,P<0.001).CXCL10 had a higher sensitivity and a lower specificity(95.7%and 60.0%,respectively)compared to CD27(71.4%and 75%,respectively)for differentiating cases from ***:There is a possibility that CXCL10 and CD27 are involved in the development and course of vitiligo.

Antibiotic resistance is a major challenge in the clinical treatment of bacterial infectious ***,we constructed a multifunctional DNA nanoplatform as a versatile carrier for bacteria-specific delivery of clinical antibiotic ciprofloxacin(CIP)and classic nanoantibiotic silver nanoparticles(AgNP).In our rational design,CIP was efficiently loaded in the self-assembly double-bundle DNA tetrahedron through intercalation with DNA duplex,and single-strand DNA-modified AgNP was embedded in the cavity of the DNA tetrahedron through *** the site-specific assembly of targeting aptamer in the well-defined DNA tetrahedron,the bacteria-specific dual-antibiotic delivery system exhibited excellent combined bactericidal *** enhanced antibiotic accumulation through breaking the out membrane of bacteria,the antibiotic delivery system effectively inhibited biofilm formation and promoted the healing of infected wounds in *** DNAbased antibiotic delivery system provides a promising strategy for the treatment of antibiotic-resistant infections.
