Large primary hepatic gastrinoma in young patient treated with trisegmentectomy: A case report and review of the literature

Primary hepatic gastrinoma is a rare disease, with fewer than 40 cases reported in the medical literature. Because it is located in an organ in which metastases are common, its diagnosis is difficult. We report a case of a 19 years old male patient with a history of gastric ulcers since the age of nine. Following gastric surgery, an antrectomy and a vagotomy, there was some alleviation of symptoms. Subsequently, the patient reported various intermittent episodes of diarrhea, diffuse abdominal pain, and vomiting. The patient underwent tomography, which revealed the presence of a hepatic mass measuring 19.5 cm × 12.5 cm × 17 cm. Primary hepatic gastrinoma was diagnosed based on laboratory examinations that indicated hypergastrinemia and a positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance study with somatostatin analogue that confirmed the liver as the primary site. After hepatic trisegmentectomy(Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ, Ⅷ), the patient's symptoms improved. The case is notable for the presence of a rare tumor with uncommon dimensions.

Stimulating renewable energy consumption is a major focus of the Sustainable Development Goals in combating climate change and global *** International Energy Agency estimates that renewable energy consumption should be doubled to achieve the COP21 *** this context,the question is whether renewable energy types promote the improvement of ecological quality and economic *** studies have investigated the influence of renewable energy on ecological pollution using carbon dioxide emissions or ecological footprint indicators,which only represent the pollution caused by human consumption patterns,and these indicators neglect the supply *** by this point,this study uses the LCF(Load Capacity Factor)as an environmental indicator and examines the causality relationship among different types of renewable energy,income,and environmental quality in the USA,while also incorporating employment and capital stock into the *** using the Fourier causality test with the wavelet-decomposed series,the study explores for the validity of the renewable energy-based growth hypothesis and answers to the question of whether there is a causal effect of renewable energy types on environmental *** results demonstrate that there is a bidirectional causality between total renewable energy,wood,biomass,and economic growth as well as between these renewable energy types and the LCF.

human proximity often have negative consequences for wildlife. However, animals may also benefit from human proximity in terms of availability of resources and protection against predators and parasites. We recorded the distance between all birds detected during the breeding season along 18 5-kin transects and the nearest inhabited house in three areas of 50 km2 in Spain, France, and Denmark. More than three quarters of birds were located closer than 100 m to the nearest house, while the null expectation was less than a third. Mean distance for species was correlated with degree of bird urbanization and with flight initiation distance. Habitat specialist species with small breeding territories tended to live closer to houses. Birds from species having more broods per year, larger annual fecundity and lower nest predation rate lived closer to human habitation. Breeding range size, population density, and continental breeding population sizes were larger for species living closer to human habitation. Most relationships between distance to houses and bird traits had a strong phylogenetic signal, but most additive trait effects remained after phylogenetic correction. Proximity to human habitation was a main driver of the distribution of birds, with most individuals and species tightly linked to inhabited houses. Living close to human habitation was associated with success in the colonization of urban habitats and with consistent changes in distribution, abundance, behavior, and life history. Replicated measurements of the spatial and tempo- ral variation in these distributions may be useful for monitoring and analyzing the ongoing process of organisms＇ urbanization.

The wetland ecosystem and its driving mechanism are significance impact on the ecological environment and the sustainable development of semi-arid regional *** and industrial land use/land cover change(LUCC) is also important for wetland *** Daihai wetland(DW)in Inner Mongolia has been suffering from severe environmental problems such as water resource shortages and wetland areas *** analyzed spatiotemporal LUCC at the catchment scale of Daihai Lake,which has recently exhibited a dramatic loss of water area,and investigated the potential role of climatic changes and human activities in the wetland *** 1976 to 2015,the arable land and construction land increased by 71.72 and 15.81 km2,with ranges of 18.72% and 39.61%,***,the wetland area decreased by 84.47 km2,accounting for 29.07% of the area *** 1960 to 2015,the area of Daihai Lake decreased by 100.73 km^2,diminishing to 37.09% of the area in 1960,and the lake storage accordingly shrank from 12.9×10~8 to approximately 3.9×10~8 m^*** lake level also rapidly *** 1962 to2014,the lake water mineralization,total nitrogen(TN),and total phosphorus(TP) increased by 2410,7.86,and 0.182 mg L-1,*** pollution sources included not only mineral fertilizers and pesticides,but also livestock,poultry breeding,aquaculture,and rural household *** lake area decreased with increasing agricultural development,Daihai power plant(DHPP) water consumption,and catchment climatic ***,the urgent implementation of effective restoration and mitigation measures are needed.

Background:Companioned by economic development,a dietary shift toward higher meat consumption is seen in developing countries and transitional economies,where the demand for livestock production has been increasing in response to such a dietary *** the Asian Dryland Belt,approaches to meet this demand have focused on grazing intensification,cropland conversion for animal feed,and supplemental *** the scarcity of water,energy,and food in the region,a key question is whether or not the current approaches are *** not,what are the pathways to increase livestock production while protecting the region’s environment for a sustainable future?We provide our reviews and discuss current approaches in response to these dietary shifts and assess their environmental resilience with a focus on the grassland ecosystems in the Asian Dryland ***:While current approaches alleviate the urgent need for short-term livestock production,they lead to longterm vulnerability in food ***-offs between short gains and long-term losses,between food for humans and for animals,and between agricultural intensification and environmental degradation need to be holistically examined for the sustainable development of the region.A grassland water,energy,and food nexus framework is proposed with specific recommendations to increase livestock production while considering other ecosystem services of the dryland grassland ecosystems in the Asian Dryland ***:Current practices to increase livestock production are likely to lead to long-term,large-scale ecological degradation of the grassland ecosystems in the Asian Dryland Belt and are thus *** considering the trade-offs in the nexus of water,land,food,and livelihoods,sustainable pathways were articulated and *** pilot studies are needed for validation and adoption.
