Optimizing Bucket Elevator Performance through a Blend of Discrete Element Method, Response Surface Methodology, and Firefly Algorithm Approaches

This research introduces a novel approach to enhancing bucket elevator design and operation through the integration of discrete element method(DEM)simulation,design of experiments(DOE),and metaheuristic optimization ***,the study employs the firefly algorithm(FA),a metaheuristic optimization technique,to optimize bucket elevator parameters for maximizing transport mass and mass flow rate discharge of granular materials under specified working *** experimental methodology involves several key steps:screening experiments to identify significant factors affecting bucket elevator operation,central composite design(CCD)experiments to further explore these factors,and response surface methodology(RSM)to create predictive models for transport mass and mass flow rate *** FA algorithm is then applied to optimize these models,and the results are validated through simulation and empirical *** study validates the optimized parameters through simulation and empirical experiments,comparing results with DEM *** outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of the FA algorithm in identifying optimal bucket parameters,showcasing less than 10%and 15%deviation for transport mass and mass flow rate discharge,respectively,between predicted and actual ***,this research provides insights into the critical factors influencing bucket elevator operation and offers a systematic methodology for optimizing bucket parameters,contributing to more efficient material handling in various industrial applications.

Flexible job shop scheduling problem(FJSP)is the core decision-making problem of intelligent manufacturing production *** Harris hawk optimization(HHO)algorithm,as a typical metaheuristic algorithm,has been widely employed to solve scheduling ***,HHO suffers from premature convergence when solving NP-hard ***,this paper proposes an improved HHO algorithm(GNHHO)to solve the *** introduces an elitism strategy,a chaotic mechanism,a nonlinear escaping energy update strategy,and a Gaussian random walk strategy to prevent premature convergence.A flexible job shop scheduling model is constructed,and the static and dynamic FJSP is investigated to minimize the *** paper chooses a two-segment encoding mode based on the job and the machine of the *** verify the effectiveness of GNHHO,this study tests it in 23 benchmark functions,10 standard job shop scheduling problems(JSPs),and 5 standard ***,this study collects data from an agricultural company and uses the GNHHO algorithm to optimize the company’s *** optimized scheduling scheme demonstrates significant improvements in makespan,with an advancement of 28.16%for static scheduling and 35.63%for dynamic ***,it achieves an average increase of 21.50%in the on-time order delivery *** results demonstrate that the performance of the GNHHO algorithm in solving FJSP is superior to some existing algorithms.

In recent years,frequent fire disasters have led to enormous damage in *** firefighting rescues can minimize the losses caused by *** the rescue processes,the travel time of fire trucks can be severely affected by traffic conditions,changing the effective coverage of fire ***,it is still challenging to determine the effective coverage of fire stations considering dynamic traffic *** paper addresses this issue by combining the traveling time calculationmodelwith the effective coverage *** addition,it proposes a new index of total effective coverage area(TECA)based on the time-weighted average of the effective coverage area(ECA)to evaluate the urban fire *** also selects China as the case study to validate the feasibility of the models,a fire station(FS-JX)in ***-JX station and its surrounding 9,117 fire risk points are selected as the fire service supply and demand points,respectively.A total of 196 simulation scenarios throughout a consecutiveweek are ***,1,933,815 sets of valid sample data are *** results showed that the TECA of FS-JX is 3.27 km^(2),which is far below the standard requirement of 7.00 km^(2) due to the traffic *** visualization results showed that three rivers around FS-JX interrupt the continuity of its effective *** proposed method can provide data support to optimize the locations of fire stations by accurately and dynamically determining the effective coverage of fire stations.

Immunoglobulin A nephropathy(IgAN)is the most common primary glomerular disease,and the“four-hit”theory represents its currently accepted pathogenic *** immunity triggered by infections in the respiratory tract,intestines,or other areas leads to antigen presentation,T cell stimulation,B cell maturation,and the production of IgA-producing plasma *** proteins B-lymphocyte stimulator(BLyS)and a proliferation-inducing ligand(APRIL)are involved in this process,and alternative complement and lectin pathway activation are also part of the pathogenic *** Disease Improving Global Outcomes guidelines indicate that a specific effective treatment for IgAN is lacking,with renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system inhibitors being the primary *** research shows that biological agents can significantly reduce proteinuria,stabilize the estimated glomerular filtration rate,and reverse some pathological changes,such as endocapillary proliferation and crescent *** are four main categories of biological agents used to treat IgA nephropathy,specifically anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies,anti-BLyS or APRIL monoclonal antibodies,monoclonal antibodies targeting both BLyS and APRIL(telitacicept and atacicept),and monoclonal antibodies inhibiting complement system activation(narsoplimab and eculizumab).However,further research on the dosages,treatment duration,long-term efficacy,and safety of these biological agents is required.
