Background Prenatal bisphenol exposure has been reported to be associated with lower birth weight and obesity-related indicators in early *** findings warrant an investigation of the relationship between prenatal bisphenol exposure and the dynamic growth of *** study aimed to evaluate the relationship of maternal bisphenol concentration in urine with the body mass index(BMI)growth trajectory of children aged up to two years and to identify the critical exposure *** A total of 826 mother–offspring pairs were recruited from Wuhan children’s Hospital between November 2013 and March *** urine samples collected during the first,second,and third trimesters were analyzed for bisphenol A(BPA),bisphenol S,and bisphenol F(BPF)*** of length and weight were taken at 0,1,3,6,8,12,18,and 24 ***'s BMI was standardized using the World health Organization reference,and group-based trajectory modeling was used to identify BMI growth *** associations between prenatal bisphenol exposure and BMI growth trajectory patterns were assessed using multinomial logistic regression *** The BMI growth trajectories of the 826 children were categorized into four patterns:low-stable(n=134,16.2%),low-increasing(n=142,17.2%),moderate-stable(n=350,42.4%),and moderate-increasing(n=200,24.2%).After adjusting for potential confounders,we observed that prenatal exposure to BPA during the second trimester[odds ratio(OR)=2.20,95%confidence interval(CI)=1.09–4.43]and BPF during the third trimester(OR=3.28,95%CI=1.55–6.95)at the highest quartile concentration were associated with an increased likelihood of the low-increasing BMI ***,in the subgroup analysis by infant sex,the positive association between the highest quartile of prenatal average urinary BPF concentration during the whole pregnancy and the low-increasing BMI trajectory was found only in girls(OR=2.82,95%CI=1.04–7.68).Conclus

Objective The study aimed to explore the association between the site of interictal epileptic discharges(IEDs)on postoperative electroencephalogram(EEG)and seizure recurrence after antiepileptic drug(AED)*** study hypothesizes that the concordance of IED sites with surgical sites indicates incomplete resection of epileptic focus,while non-concordance of IED sites with surgical sites indicates postoperative changes or cortical *** former has a higher risk of seizure *** We retrospectively analyzed the postoperative EEG pattern of 182 consecutive children who underwent resection *** identify the risk factors for seizure recurrence,we compared the attributes of seizure recurred and seizure-free groups by univariate and multivariate *** tapering was standardized,involving a 25% reduction in the dose of a single type of AED every 2 weeks,independent of the presurgical AED *** We attempted AED withdrawal in 116(63.7%)***-eight(24.1%)children experienced seizure recurrence during or after AED withdrawal.A greater number of AEDs used at the time of surgery(p=0.005),incomplete resection(p=0.001),and presence of IED on postoperative EEG(p=0.011)are predictors of *** resectionand seizure recurrence after AED withdrawal were related to the presence of IED on the EEG,but not to the concordance of IED with surgical *** For children with abnormal EEG,the decision to discontinue AED should be made more cautiously,regardless of the relative location of the discharge site and the surgical site.

Monocyte to High-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Ratio as a Predictor of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease in childhood Obesity

Objective:Inflammation is involved in the development and progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).The monocyte to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio(MHR)has emerged as a marker for various inflammation-related *** aim of the present study was to investigate the association between the MHR and NAFLD in a population with childhood ***:Based on hepatic ultrasound,a total of 504 children with obesity(357 with NAFLD and 147 without NAFLD)were included in the *** correlation between the MHR and NAFLD risk factors was assessed by Pearson's and Spearman's *** stepwise logistic regression analyses were conducted to explore the association between the MHR and the risk of ***:The MHR in patients with NAFLD was significantly greater than that in patients without NAFLD[0.52(0.44-0.67)versus 0.44(0.34-0.57),P＜0.001].Multivariate stepwise logistic regression analysis demonstrated that the MHR[odds ratio(OR):1.033,95％confidence interval(CI):1.015-1.051;P＜0.001]was an independent predictor of NAFLD in childhood obesity patients,as were age(OR:1.205,95％CI:1.059-1.371;P=0.005],waist circumference[OR:1.037,95％CI:1.008-1.067;P=0.012],and alanine transaminase[OR:1.067,95％CI:1.045-1.089;P＜0.001].Additionally,MHR quartiles showed a significant positive association with the incidence of NAFLD after adjusting for potential confounding ***:The present study showed that the MHR may serve as an available and useful indicator of NAFLD in individuals with childhood obesity.

In this editorial,we comment on the article published in the recent issue of the World Journal of *** liver failure(ALF)is a fatal disease that causes uncontrolled massive hepatocyte death and rapid loss of liver *** and pyroptosis,cell death forms that can be initiated or blocked concurrently,can play significant roles in developing inflammation and various ***,their roles in ALF remain *** article discovered the positive feedback between ferroptosis and pyroptosis in the progression of ALF,and revealed that the silent information regulator sirtuin 1(SIRT1)inhibits both pathways through p53,dramatically reducing inflammation and protecting *** suggests the potential use of SIRT1 and its downstream molecules as therapeutics for ***,we will discuss the role of ferroptosis and pyroptosis in ALF and the crosstalk between these cell death ***,we address potential treatments that could alleviate ALF by simultaneously inhibiting both cell death pathways,as well as examples of SIRT1 activators being used as disease treatment strategies,providing new insights into the therapy of ALF.

3'-Deoxyadenosin alleviates methamphetamine-induced aberrant synaptic plasticity and seeking behavior by inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome

Methamphetamine addiction is a brain disorder characterized by persistent drug-seeking behavior, which has been linked with aberrant synaptic plasticity. An increasing body of evidence suggests that aberrant synaptic plasticity is associated with the activation of the NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing-3(NLRP3) inflammasome. 3′-Deoxyadenosin, an active component of the Chinese fungus Cordyceps militaris, has strong anti-inflammatory effects. However, whether 3′-deoxyadenosin attenuates methamphetamine-induced aberrant synaptic plasticity via an NLRP3-mediated inflammatory mechanism remains unclear. We first observed that 3′-deoxyadenosin attenuated conditioned place preference scores in methamphetamine-treated mice and decreased the expression of c-fos in hippocampal neurons. Furthermore, we found that 3′-deoxyadenosin reduced the aberrant potentiation of glutamatergic transmission and restored the methamphetamine-induced impairment of synaptic plasticity. We also found that 3′-deoxyadenosin decreased the expression of NLRP3 and neuronal injury. Importantly, a direct NLRP3 deficiency reduced methamphetamine-induced seeking behavior, attenuated the impaired synaptic plasticity, and prevented neuronal damage. Finally, NLRP3 activation reversed the effect of 3′-deoxyadenosin on behavior and synaptic plasticity, suggesting that the anti-neuroinflammatory mechanism of 3′-deoxyadenosin on aberrant synaptic plasticity reduces methamphetamine-induced seeking behavior. Taken together, 3′-deoxyadenosin alleviates methamphetamine-induced aberrant synaptic plasticity and seeking behavior by inhibiting the NLRP3 inflammasome.

Contribution of Imagery in the Diagnosis of Multisystemic Sarcoidosis in the Service Radiology department of the Mother and child Hospital “Le Luxembourg” in Bamako: A Case Report

The aim of this study was to report a case of multi-visceral sarcoidosis at the Mother-child Hospital Center (CHME) “Le Luxembourg” in Bamako, Mali. Observation: This is a patient aged 62 at the time of consultation, a housewife, residing in the Banconi district, who was referred to us for thoracic-abdominopelvic imaging for chronic liver disease. After several diagnostic errors, the thoracic-abdominopelvic CT scan and liver MRI performed in our center showed, at the thoracoabdominal level, bilateral diffuse pulmonary micronodules and bilateral mediastinal-hilar lymphadenopathy;on the abdominal level, a dysmorphic liver with plaques of steatosis and a granular appearance of the liver parenchyma without periportal fibrosis. These imaging data combined with those from the liver nodule biopsy and biology confirmed the diagnosis of sarcoidosis type II. Treatment with corticosteroids gave satisfactory results and the patient recovered after 18 months. Clinical and CT monitoring 2 years from the start of the disease and 2 months from the end of treatment showed complete resolution of the lesions. Conclusion: The multi-visceral location of sarcoidosis is an entity whose diagnosis remains difficult;diagnostic and interventional imaging has an important place in its management.
