Chronic diabetic wounds confront a significant medical challenge because of increasing prevalence and difficult-healing *** is vital to develop multifunctional hydrogel dressings,with well-designed morphology and structure to enhance flexibility and effectiveness in wound *** achieve these,we propose a self-healing hydrogel dressing based on structural color microspheres for wound *** microsphere comprised a photothermal-responsive inverse opal framework,which was constructed by hyaluronic acid methacryloyl,silk fibroin methacryloyl and black phosphorus quantum dots(BPQDs),and was further re-filled with a dynamic *** dynamic hydrogel filler was formed by Knoevenagel condensation reaction between cyanoacetate and benzaldehyde-functionalized dextran(DEX-CA and DEX-BA).Notably,the composite microspheres can be applied arbitrarily,and they can adhere together upon near-infrared irradiation by leveraging the BPQDs-mediated photothermal effect and the thermoreversible stiffness change of dynamic ***,eumenitin and vascular endothelial growth factor were co-loaded in the microspheres and their release behavior can be regulated by the same ***,effective monitoring of the drug release process can be achieved through visual color *** microsphere system has demonstrated desired capabilities of controllable drug release and efficient wound *** characteristics suggest broad prospects for the proposed composite microspheres in clinical applications.

In this editorial,we discuss the article by Wen et al *** foot ulcers are prevalent and serious complications of diabetes,significantly impacting patients’quality of life and often leading to disability or death,thereby placing a heavy burden on *** diabetic wound healing is hindered by an imbalance in macrophage polarization;many macrophages fail to transition from the pro-inflammatory M1 phenotype to the anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype,which is crucial for tissue remodelling and *** wound healing process is both dynamic and *** M1 macrophages,which have strong phagocytic abilities,are vital during the inflammatory phase of diabetic wound ***,the failure to transition to M2 macrophages during the proliferative phase hinders wound *** anticipate the development of new therapies that can repair damaged M1 macrophages during the inflammatory phase and promote M2 macrophage polarization during the proliferative phase,thereby enhancing the overall healing process.

Lateral circumflex femoral artery perforator flap for the reconstruction of head soft tissue defects:Cross-region venous anastomosis

Background:Owing to its unique characteristics,the lateral circumflex femoral artery perforator(LCFAP)flap is often preferred for repairing head wounds with exposed ***,given the vascular distribution in the head,particularly the veins,can lead to postoperative complications such as venous congestion of the *** rates of vascular exploration and necrosis in these flaps are significantly higher than in other body ***,it is crucial to identify a safe and effective method for venous anastomosis of free flaps in the head ***:This retrospective case series study included 10 patients with large head soft tissue defects treated at the Burn and Plastic surgery department of the Affiliated hospital of Zunyi Medical University from January 2020 to December *** head defects were reconstructed using LCFAP flaps,with flap veins anastomosed to the external jugular vein in the neck,either directly or via a bridging ***:Among the 10 adult patients with massive head wound defects,7(70%)were *** patients’mean age was 53.0 years(48–59 years).The wound defects were caused by trauma in 6(60%)patients and by tumors in 4(40%)***,no significant complications occurred,and all LCFAP flap survived without ***:The descending branch of the LCFAP flap effectively repairs massive head wound *** venous anastomosis method for this flap is associated with a low incidence of venous complications and a high patency rate,making it a clinically valuable reference.

Coronary restenosis is an important cause of poor long-term prognosis in patients with coronary heart ***,we show that lysine methyltransferase SMYD2 expression in the nucleus is significantly elevated in serum-and PDGF-BB-induced vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs),and in tissues of carotid artery injury-induced neointimal ***2 overexpression in VSMCs(Smyd2-vTg)facilitates,but treatment with its specific inhibitor LLY-507 or SMYD2 knockdown significantly inhibits VSMC phenotypic switching and carotid artery injury-induced neointima formation in *** sequencing revealed that SMYD2 knockdown represses the expression of serum response factor(SRF)target genes and that SRF overexpression largely reverses the inhibitory effect of SMYD2 knockdown on VSMC ***3 directly interacts with and deacetylates SRF,which enhances SRF transcriptional activity in ***,SMYD2 promotes HDAC3 expression via tri-methylation of H3K36 at its ***966,a specific inhibitor of HDAC3,not only counteracts the pro-proliferation effect of SMYD2 overexpression on VSMCs,but also inhibits carotid artery injury-induced neointima formation in ***3 partially abolishes the inhibitory effect of SMYD2 knockdown on VSMC proliferation in a deacetylase activity-dependent *** results reveal that the SMYD2-HDAC3-SRF axis constitutes a novel and critical epigenetic mechanism that regulates VSMC phenotypic switching and neointimal hyperplasia.

Bithalamic Ischemic Stroke in Sickle Cell Patient at the Kamenge University hospital in Burundi: Case Report

Aim: To describe the clinical and radiological diagnostic for a sickle cell patient who got a bithalamic vasculature accident. Observation: This was a 4-year-old female child admitted to the pediatric ward for convulsive seizures in a feverish context. The physical examination did not find signs of meningeal irritation. The effective workup including thick gout, lumbar puncture, complete blood count, and C reactive protein was normal. An electrocencephalogram was not performed due to lack of availability of the device. Based on clinical data and the fact that Burundi is an area of high malaria prevalence, antimalarial and anticonvulsant treatment has been started. An alteration of consciousness (the Glasgow score of 7) had motivated a CT scan. Bithalamic hypodensities in favor of a vascular accident have been demonstrated. Etiological investigation revealed homozygous sickle cell disease ss during hemoglobin electrophoresis. The final evolution has been characterized by a return to normal consciousness. Conclusion: The complexity of the clinical picture following occlusion of Percherons artery makes it difficult to diagnose. Sickle cell disease may favour the occurrence of ischaemic lesions. Cerebral imaging enables the diagnosis to be made with certainty and avoids delays in treatment.
