High Expression of INF2 Predicts Poor Prognosis and Promotes Hepatocellular Carcinoma Progression

Objective INF2 is a member of the formins *** expression and regulation of INF2 have been associated with the progression of various tumors,but the expression and role of INF2 in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)remain *** is a highly lethal malignant *** the limitations of traditional treatments,this study explored the expression level,clinical value and potential mechanism of INF2 in HCC in order to seek new therapeutic *** In this study,we used public databases to analyze the expression of INF2 in pan-cancer and HCC,as well as the impact of INF2 expression levels on HCC *** real time polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR),Western blot,and immunohistochemistry were used to detect the expression level of INF2 in liver cancer cells and human HCC *** correlation between INF2 expression and clinical pathological features was analyzed using public databases and clinical data of human HCC ***,the effects of INF2 expression on the biological function and Drp1 phosphorylation of liver cancer cells were elucidated through in vitro and in vivo ***,the predictive value and potential mechanism of INF2 in HCC were further analyzed through database and immunohistochemical *** INF2 is aberrantly high expression in HCC samples and the high expression of INF2 is correlated with overall survival,liver cirrhosis and pathological differentiation of HCC *** expression level of INF2 has certain diagnostic value in predicting the prognosis and pathological differentiation of *** vivo and in vitro HCC models,upregulated expression of INF2 triggers the proliferation and migration of the HCC cell,while knockdown of INF2 could counteract this ***2 in liver cancer cells may affect mitochondrial division by inducing Drp1 phosphorylation and mediate immune escape by up-regulating PD-L1 expression,thus promoting tumor *** INF2 is highly expressed in H

Colorectal cancer(CRC) is one of the most prevalent malignant tumors worldwide, exhibiting high morbidity and mortality. Lack of efficient tools for early diagnosis and surgical resection guidance of CRC have been a serious threat to the long-term survival rate of the CRC patients. Recent studies have shown that relative higher viscosity was presented in tumor cells compared to that in normal cells, leading to viscosity as a potential biomarker for CRC. Herein, we reported the development of a series of novel viscosity-sensitive and mitochondria-specific fluorescent probes(HTB, HTI, and HTP) for CRC *** them, HTB showed high sensitivity, minimal background interference, low cytotoxicity, and significant viscous response capability, making it an ideal tool for distinguishing colorectal tumor cells from normal cells. Importantly, we have successfully utilized HTB to visualize in a CRC-cells-derived xenograft(CDX) model, enriching its medical imaging capacity, which laid a foundation for further clinical translational application.

Paclitaxel is one of the commonly used drugs in postoperative chemotherapy for ovarian cancer patients. However, affected by drug dosage and individual differences in the course of medication, patients will have different degrees of adverse reactions, which will cause damage to the patient’s body once they occur. This paper retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of patients with severe allergic reactions such as fecal incontinence and numbness of hands and feet caused by the use of paclitaxel liposome during postoperative chemotherapy in a case of ovarian cancer admitted to our hospital. The causes and corresponding treatment measures were analyzed, in order to provide the reference for medical staff to take effective countermeasures in advance in the future.

Correlation analyse between thyroid hormone levels and severity of schizophrenia symptoms

BACKGROUND The imbalance of hormone levels in the body is closely related to the occurrence and progression of schizophrenia,especially thyroid *** To study the relationship between triiodothyronine(T3),thyroxine(T4),free T3(FT3),free T4(FT4),thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH)and *** In this study,100 schizophrenia patients were selected from our hospital between April 2022 and April *** clinical data were analyzed *** on the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale(PANSS)score,patients were divided into mild(1-3 points,n=39),moderate(4 points,n=45),and severe groups(5-7 points,n=16).Additionally,55 healthy individuals served as a control *** blood samples were collected to measure T3,T4,FT3,FT4,TSH,and cortisol concentrations,analyzing their relationship with PANSS *** The serum levels of T3,FT3,FT4,TSH and cortisol in the schizophrenia group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).With the increase of the severity of the disease,the concentrations of T3 and T4 decreased,while the con-centrations of TSH and cortisol increased(P<0.05).The concentrations of TSH and cortisol were positively correlated with the PANSS score,while T3 and T4 were negatively correlated with the PANSS score(P<0.05).The receiver ope-rating characteristic curve results showed that T3,T4,TSH,and cortisol had good efficacy in the diagnosis of *** results showed that decreased T3 level,decreased T4 level,decreased TSH level and increased cortisol level may be independent risk factors for *** Thyroid hormone levels are associated with the severity of schizophrenia symptoms,which can provide new solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia.

In this article,we comment on the work published by Huang et al,which explores the mechanisms by which Calculus bovis(CB)modulates the liver cancer immune microenvironment via the Wnt/β-catenin signalling *** study demon-strates that active components in CB effectively inhibit the activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway,significantly reducing the polarization of M2 tumor-associated *** in vivo and in vitro experiments have validated the anti-tumour effects of CB,revealing its complex mechanisms of action through the modulation of immune cell functions within the tumour *** article highlights CB’s therapeutic potential in liver cancer treatment and calls for further investigations into its mechanisms and clinical applications to develop safer,more effective options for *** study also revealed that key com-ponents of CB,such as bilirubin and bile acids,inhibit tumour cell proliferation and promote apoptosis through multiple *** research should explore the mechanisms of action of CB and its potential integration with existing treatments to improve the therapeutic outcomes of liver cancer *** multidisciplinary collaboration and advanced research,CB could become a key component of comprehensive liver cancer treatment,offering new hope for patients.

BACKGROUND Peutz-Jeghers(PJ)syndrome(PJS)is a rare autosomal dominant genetic disease characterized by the association of intestinal polyposis,mucosal skin pigmen-tation,and cancer *** patients have a significantly increased risk of malignant tumors in the gastrointestinal tract and extra-gastrointestinal tract,including various epithelial malignant tumors(colorectal cancer,gastric cancer,pancreatic cancer,breast cancer,and ovarian cancer,etc.).PJS is commonly seen in children and adolescents with multiple small intestinal polyps,often causing *** SUMMARY A 62-year-old male presented with intermittent left lower abdominal pain after drinking or consuming cold beverages that was accompanied by occasional *** contrast-enhanced computed tomography indicated an isolated sigmoid colon grape-like ***,the patient underwent la-paroscopic surgery,and the pathological diagnosis was PJ hamartomatous *** was not considered at the initial visit,as the patient was older,and the facial pigmentation was not ***,significant pigmentation was observed in the perineum during digital rectal ***,we observed that the patient exhibited nodular shadows in the adrenal glands computed tomo-graphy images that may be related to ***,we performed the determination of adrenal cortical hormones,but the results were not *** with skin and mucosal pigmentation and laboratory examinations,the patient was diagnosed with *** laparoscopic sigmoid colon resection,the patient's symptoms improved,and no discomfort symptoms were reported in the later *** The age of onset and lesion location of this case are different from those of typical or isolated PJS patients.

BACKGROUND Cervical cancer is a prevalent form of cancer affecting women worldwide and it is the second most common cancer among women in Indonesia,accounting for 8.5%of all cancer-related *** cancer progression can be evaluated through laboratory tests to detect anaemia,an increased platelet count,and elevated inflammatory markers,therefore,effective laboratory examination is crucial for early detection and treatment of cervical *** To evaluate the association between laboratory findings(haematology,haematology index,and inflammatory index)and the clinical stage of cervical *** This cross-sectional study analyzed adult cervical cancer patients’data from medical records and laboratory results including sociodemographic status,histopathological finding,clinical stage,and complete haematology *** data was analyzed by the one-way ANOVA(normal data distribution),while the Kruskal-Wallis test was used for non-parametric data(abnormal distribution),followed by appropriate post-hoc *** categorical data was analyzed by the Chi-square or Fisher Exact *** significance level was established at a P value<*** This study involved the data of 208 adult cervical cancer patients and found no association between age,marital history,parity history,hormonal contraceptive use and cervical cancer *** were significant differences in the clinical laboratory test results based on the clinical stage of cervical cancer,including haemoglobin levels(P<0.001),leucocytes(P<0.001),neutrophils(P<0.001),monocytes(P=0.002),lymphocytes(P=0.006),platelets(P<0.001),neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio/NLR(P<0.001),lymphocyte-monocyte ratio/LMR(P<0.001),and plateletlymphocyte ratio/PLR(P<0.001).There were also significant differences in the systemic inflammatory index(SII)and systematic inflammatory response index(SIRI)between stage III+IV cervical cancer and stage II(SII P<0.001;SIRI P=0.001)and stage I(SII P<0.001;SIRI P=0.016),ass
