The endothelium modulates vascular homeostasis owing to a variety of vasoconstrictors and *** dysfunction(ED),characterized by impaired vasodilation,inflammation,and thrombosis,triggers future cardiovascular(CV)*** kidney disease,a state of chronic inflammation caused by oxidative stress,metabolic abnormalities,infection,and uremic toxins damages the *** is also associated with a decline in estimated glomerular filtration *** kidney transplantation,endothelial functions undergo immediate but partial restoration,promising graft longevity and enhanced CV ***,the anticipated CV outcomes do not happen due to various transplant-related and unrelated risk factors for ED,culminating in poor CV health and graft *** in kidney transplant recipients is an underrecognized and poorly studied *** diseases are the leading cause of death among kidney transplant candidates with functioning *** contributes to the pathogenesis of many of the CV *** biomarkers and vasoreactivity tests are available to study endothelial *** an increasing number of transplants happening every year,and improved graft rejection rates due to the availability of effective immunosuppressants,the focus has now shifted to endothelial protection for the prevention,early recognition,and treatment of CV diseases.

BACKGROUND 2D-echocardiography(2DE)has been the primary imaging modality in children with Kawasaki disease(KD)to assess coronary *** To report the presence and implications of incidental congenital coronary artery anomalies that had been misinterpreted as coronary artery abnormalities(CAAs)on *** Records of children diagnosed with KD,who underwent computed tomography coronary angiography(CTCA)at our center between 2013-2023 were *** identified 3 children with congenital coronary artery anomalies in this cohort on *** of CTCA and 2DE were compared in these 3 *** Of the 241 patients with KD who underwent CTCA,3(1.24%)had congenital coronary artery anomalies on CTCA detected *** all 3 patients,baseline 2DE had identified *** was then performed for detailed evaluation as per our unit ***(11-year-boy)amongst the 3 patients had complete KD,while the other two(3.3-year-boy;4-month-girl)had incomplete *** revealed separate origins of left anterior descending artery and left circumflex from left sinus[misinterpreted as dilated left main coronary artery(LCA)on 2DE],single coronary artery(interpreted as dilated LCA on 2DE)and dilated right coronary artery on 2DE in case of anomalous origin of LCA from the main pulmonary *** latter one was subsequently operated *** CTCA is essential for detailed assessment of coronary arteries in children with KD especially in cases where there is suspicion of congenital coronary artery *** solely on 2DE may not be sufficient in such cases,and findings from CTCA can significantly impact therapeutic decision-making.

Purpose:The study aimed to compare the effects of a long general warm-up,a long specific warm-up,and a short specific warm-up upon sprint ability in soccer ***:Twelve male soccer players(age:18.3±0.8 years,mean±SD;body mass:76.4±7.2 kg;body height:1.79±0.05 m) conducted 3 types of warm-ups with 1 week in between:a long general warm-up,a long specific warm-up,and a short specific warm-up followed by 3 sprints of 40 m *** best,average,and total sprinting times together with heart rate and ratings of perceived exertion were ***:The sprint times(best,average,and total time) were significantly better when performing a long specific or short specific warm-up compared with the long general warm-up(all p <0.05).The received perception exertion was significantly lower during the specific short warm-up(4.92 ± 0.90) compared with the longer ones(6.00 ± 0.74 and 6.25 ± 0.87,respectively).Conclusion:Specificity is more important in a warm-up routine before sprint performance than the duration of the warm-up.

The study by Cao et al aimed to identify early second-trimester biomarkers that could predict gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)development using advanced proteomic techniques,such as Isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry liquid chromatography-mass *** analysis revealed 47 differentially expressed proteins in the GDM group,with retinol-binding protein 4 and angiopoietin-like 8 showing significantly elevated serum levels compared to *** these findings are promising,the study is limited by its small sample size(n=4 per group)and lacks essential details on the reproducibility and reliability of the protein quantification methods ***,the absence of experimental validation weakens the interpretation of the protein-protein interaction network identified through bioinformatics *** study's focus on second-trimester biomarkers raises concerns about whether this is a sufficiently early period to implement preventive interventions for *** GDM risk during the first trimester or pre-conceptional period may offer more clinical *** its limitations,the study presents valuable insights into potential GDM biomarkers,but larger,well-validated studies are needed to establish their predictive utility and generalizability.

Medicinal plants have long been used to treat various diseases in both indigenous and non-indigenous populations of Mindanao,***,we extracted data from ethnobotanical studies to compile a comprehensive list of these medicinal plants and identify how and for what purpose they are most commonly *** identified 530 verified medicinal plant species across 372 genera in 118 *** two most frequently cited species were Euphorbia hirta and Psidium *** most represented family was Fabaceae and the most represented genus was Ficus.A total of 28 medicinal plant species are designated as threatened at the national or global level;of these,11 are endemic to the *** plant preparations most commonly use leaves for oral administration to treat various diseases such as digestive issues,including *** study underscores the need for further ethnobotanical investigations,particularly in areas lacking *** also emphasizes the need for conservation of threatened and endemic medicinal plants to ensure sustainable utilization of this valuable resource.

This article discusses the recent study written by Koizumi et ***-associated liver disease(ALD)is a major cause of liver-related morbidity and mortality,which is driven by complex mechanisms,including lipid accumulation,apoptosis,and inflammatory responses exacerbated by gut barrier *** study explored the therapeutic potential of elafibranor,a dual peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor alpha/delta *** clinical trials,elafibranor has shown promise for the treatment of other liver conditions;however,its effects on ALD remain *** authors’findings indicate that elafibranor significantly reduced liver fibrosis and enhanced gut barrier integrity in patients with *** positive effects of elafibranor are mediated through multiple *** promotes lipid metabolism,reduces oxidative stress,and inhibits inflammatory responses by restoring gut barrier ***,it improves hepatocyte function by enhancing autophagic and antioxidant capacity,and it mitigates inflammation by suppressing the lipopolysaccharide/toll-like receptor 4/nuclear factor kappa B signaling *** findings indicate that elafibranor has promising clinical *** addition,the study highlights elafibranor’s potential as a therapeutic agent for liver diseases,particularly *** article underscores the importance of understanding the mechanistic pathways underlying ALD and suggests directions for future research aimed at elucidating the benefits and limitations of elafibranor.
