Multi-model ensemble learning for battery state-of-health estimation:Recent advances and perspectives

The burgeoning market for lithium-ion batteries has stimulated a growing need for more reliable battery performance monitoring. Accurate state-of-health(SOH) estimation is critical for ensuring battery operational performance. Despite numerous data-driven methods reported in existing research for battery SOH estimation, these methods often exhibit inconsistent performance across different application scenarios. To address this issue and overcome the performance limitations of individual data-driven models,integrating multiple models for SOH estimation has received considerable attention. Ensemble learning(EL) typically leverages the strengths of multiple base models to achieve more robust and accurate outputs. However, the lack of a clear review of current research hinders the further development of ensemble methods in SOH estimation. Therefore, this paper comprehensively reviews multi-model ensemble learning methods for battery SOH estimation. First, existing ensemble methods are systematically categorized into 6 classes based on their combination strategies. Different realizations and underlying connections are meticulously analyzed for each category of EL methods, highlighting distinctions, innovations, and typical applications. Subsequently, these ensemble methods are comprehensively compared in terms of base models, combination strategies, and publication trends. Evaluations across 6 dimensions underscore the outstanding performance of stacking-based ensemble methods. Following this, these ensemble methods are further inspected from the perspectives of weighted ensemble and diversity, aiming to inspire potential approaches for enhancing ensemble performance. Moreover, addressing challenges such as base model selection, measuring model robustness and uncertainty, and interpretability of ensemble models in practical applications is emphasized. Modeling of miss-probability in content-centric networking

Content-Centric networking(CCN), one of the most promising Future Internet architectures, is a hot research topic because of its advantages of content delivery over the Internet. Based on the Least Recently Used(LRU) replacement policy in CCN, the closed-form expression of the miss-probability is first derived by considering the sequence of arriving requests under single cache scenario, and then extended to linear and binary tree topologies. Consequently, the virtual round trip time(VRTT) is determined to be influenced by cache capacity and link bandwidth. The simulation results show that the proposed miss-probability model accords with realistic CCN network conditions, being much better than the existing model.

Improved Relevance Ranking in WebGather

The amount of information on the web is growing rapidly and search engines that rely on keyword matching usually return too many fow quality matches. To improve search results, a challenging task for search engines is how to effectively calculate a relevane ranking for each web page. This paper discusses in what order a search engine should return the URLs it has produced in response to a user's query so as to show more relevant pages first. Emphasis is given on the ranking functions a-dopted by WebGather that take link structure and user popularity factors into account. Bxperimental results are also presented to evaluate the proposed strategy.

Status and prospects for symmetric organic redox flow batteries

As environmental concerns from fossil fuel consumption intensify, large-scale energy storage becomes imperative for the integration of renewable sources like wind, hydro, and solar with the electrical *** flow batteries, particularly those employing organic molecules, are positioned as a key technology for this purpose. This review explores the growing field of symmetric organic redox flow batteries(ORFBs) within this context. Unlike traditional asymmetric designs based on unique active materials for each electrode, symmetric ORFBs involve a single bipolar species for both electrodes. This review highlights the benefits of a symmetric design, and categorizes five distinct classes of organic bipolar molecules used in both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. By providing a comprehensive overview of their cell cycling and performance characteristics, the strengths and weaknesses of the diverse categories of bipolar molecules are highlighted for both solvent systems, as are opportunities for future development. This should guide new research directions and advance the development of practical symmetric ORFBs.

An affective chatbot with controlled specific emotion expression

Endowing a chatbot with the capability of specific emotion expression will significantly improve both chatbot’s usability and users’ satisfaction. Recently, many studies on open-domain neural emotional,conversational models(chatbots) have been conducted. However, enabling a chatbot to control what kind of emotion to respond to in conversation explicitly is still under exploration. This paper proposes a novel affective chatbot based on the sequence-to-sequence framework, responding with appropriate emotion like a human. In particular, a new module called single emotion generator is designed in the new chatbot model to address the existing issue of controlling over reacting emotion. It enables the chatbot to select the appropriate emotion for a response when interacting with users. In the decoder, an affective lexiconbased method generates emotion-awareness responses based on the specific emotion controlled by the single emotion generator. The proposed chatbot outperforms mainstream baseline algorithms for both semantic fluency and emotion consistence metrics through experimental evaluation. The experimental results also demonstrate that the new chatbot obtains the ability to control the emotion for response explicitly and responds emotionally with the specific emotion.

Solid angle car following model

Existing traffic flow models give little consideration on vehicle sizes. We introduce the solid angle into car-following theory, taking the driver’s perception of the leading vehicle’s size into account. The solid angle and its change rate are applied as inputs to the novel model. A nonlinear stability analysis is performed to analyze the asymmetry of the model and the size effect of the leading vehicle, and the modified Korteweg–de Vries equation is derived. The solid angle model can explain complex traffic characteristics and provide an important basis for modeling nonlinear traffic phenomena.

FPGA based unified architecture for public key and private key cryptosystems

Recently, security in embedded system arises attentions because of modern electronic devices need cau- tiously either exchange or communicate with the sensitive data. Although security is classical research topic in world- wide communication, the researchers still face the problems of how to deal with these resource constraint devices and en- hance the features of assurance and certification. Therefore, some computations of cryptographic algorithms are built on hardware platforms, such as field program gate arrays （FPGAs）. The commonly used cryptographic algorithms for digital signature algorithm （DSA） are rivest-shamir-adleman （RSA） and elliptic curve cryptosystems （ECC） which based on the presumed difficulty of factoring large integers and the algebraic structure of elliptic curves over finite fields. Usu- ally, RSA is computed over GF（p）, and ECC is computed over GF（p） or GF（2P）. Moreover, embedded applications need advance encryption standard （AES） algorithms to pro- cess encryption and decryption procedures. In order to reuse the hardware resources and meet the trade-off between area and performance, we proposed a new triple functional arith- metic unit for computing high radix RSA and ECC operations over GF（p） and GF（2P）, which also can be extended to support AES operations. A new high radix signed digital （SD） adder has been proposed to eliminate the carry propagations over GF（p）. The proposed unified design took up 28.7% less hardware resources than implementing RSA, ECC, and AES individually, and the experimental results show that our proposed architecture can achieve 141.8 MHz using approxi- mately 5.5k CLBs on Virtex-5 FPGA.
