Abnormal grain growth(AGG)easily takes place in Mg alloys during high-temperature solutions,result-ing in deterioration of mechanical ***,the compression prior to solution(pre-compression)was conducted to suppress AGG,and the microstructure evolution as well as suppressing mechanisms was investigated based on quasi-in-situ *** compression along the transverse direction,//ED grains preferentially nucleated and rapidly grew up,and the initial//ED texture was *** grain growth modes of heat-induced and strain-induced grain boundary migrations were *** former was attributed to the high interfacial energy of grain boundaries with large *** latter consumed the adjacent grains with high storage energy,forming abnormal grains with irregular *** compression with a reduction>6%could obviously suppress *** suppressing effects were mainly attributed to weakening the size advantage of//ED grains,increasing nucleation,reducing grain boundary character distribution,and redistributing storage energy *** 12%compression along the transverse direction,30°misorientation of//ED grains and high energy grain boundaries were ***{10-12}tensile twins and{10-15}high index twins induced by com-pression increased the nucleation of static ***,compression introduces high-density dislocations,which also contributed to suppressing AGG behavior during solution.

The multiscale method provides an effective approach for the numerical analysis of heterogeneous viscoelastic materials by reducing the degree of freedoms(DOFs).A basic framework of the Multiscale Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method(MsSBFEM)was presented in our previous works,but those works only addressed two-dimensional *** order to solve more realistic problems,a three-dimensional MsSBFEM is further developed in this *** the proposed method,the octree SBFEM is used to deal with the three-dimensional calculation for numerical base functions to bridge small and large scales,the three-dimensional image-based analysis can be conveniently conducted in small-scale and coarse nodes can be flexibly adjusted to improve the computational ***,the Temporally Piecewise Adaptive Algorithm(TPAA)is used to maintain the computational accuracy of multiscale analysis by adaptive calculation in time *** results of numerical examples show that the proposed method can significantly reduce the DOFs for three-dimensional viscoelastic analysis with good *** instance,the DOFs can be reduced by 9021 times compared with Direct Numerical Simulation(DNS)with an average error of 1.87%in the third example,and it is very effective in dealing with three-dimensional complex microstructures directly based on images without any geometric modelling process.

Atmospheric humidity is a sustainable low-value energy widely existing in natural environment,which is a promising candidate to solve the noncontinuous and low efficiency of low-value energy power *** the mono-substituted Dawson-type polyoxometalates are constructed to be highly dispersed organic ammonium-polyoxoanion clusters and are assembled into thin films power generators with micropores,working in atmospheric *** optimal polyoxometalates generator with the thickness of 7.2μm and the area of 0.36 cm^(2) produces a voltage of 0.68 V and a current density of 19.5μA·cm^(-2) under simulated natural environment,and works continuously and stably under almost all-natural environments(humidity 10%–90%).The highly dispersed polyoxometalate nanoclusters can form microporous in polyoxometalate films to effectively absorb atmospheric humidity and spontaneously form distribution gradient of water,which is the structural basis of power *** continuous power generation may be maintained by the effective adsorption and utilization of H_(2)O,the huge electrostatic field of organic ammonium-polyoxoanion clusters,and the reasonably designed polyoxometalates containing inorganic small ions with high *** is the first humidity generator designed with polyoxometalates,which may provide a new research direction for polyoxometalates in sustainable utilization of low-value energy.

Effect of boundary conditions on shakedown analysis of heterogeneous materials

The determination of the ultimate load-bearing capacity of structures made of elastoplastic heterogeneous materials under varying loads is of great importance for engineering analysis and design. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately predict the shakedown domains of these materials. The static shakedown theorem, also known as Melan's theorem, is a fundamental method used to predict the shakedown domains of structures and materials. Within this method, a key aspect lies in the construction and application of an appropriate self-equilibrium stress field(SSF). In the structural shakedown analysis, the SSF is typically constructed by governing equations that satisfy no external force(NEF) boundary conditions. However, we discover that directly applying these governing equations is not suitable for the shakedown analysis of heterogeneous materials. Researchers must consider the requirements imposed by the Hill-Mandel condition for boundary conditions and the physical significance of representative volume elements(RVEs). This paper addresses this issue and demonstrates that the sizes of SSFs vary under different boundary conditions, such as uniform displacement boundary conditions(DBCs), uniform traction boundary conditions(TBCs), and periodic boundary conditions(PBCs). As a result, significant discrepancies arise in the predicted shakedown domain sizes of heterogeneous materials. Built on the demonstrated relationship between SSFs under different boundary conditions, this study explores the conservative relationships among different shakedown domains, and provides proof of the relationship between the elastic limit(EL) factors and the shakedown loading factors under the loading domain of two load vertices. By utilizing numerical examples, we highlight the conservatism present in certain results reported in the existing literature. Nickel-based single-crystal superalloys are crucial materials for the preparation of aero-engine turbine blades. Many solute elements are added to superalloys for strengthening. However, the relationship between the clustering behavior of solute atoms and the properties of nickel-based single-crystal superalloys is still unclear. Herein, we conduct first-principles calculations onγ phases with Mo-Mo and Mo-Mo-Ru clusters to reveal the possibility and stabilizing mechanism of solute clusters. Introducing Mo lowers the total energy, binding energy, and formation energy of the γ phase due to the replacement of weak Ni-Ni interaction with strong Mo-Ni bonding. Note that the γ phase containing the Mo-Mo cluster is more stable than that containing a Mo single atom, possibly owing to a wide affecting range. The Ru atom added to the γ phase can further boost system stability, and it tends to form a Mo-Mo-Ru cluster. The stabilizing impact of the Mo-Mo-Ru cluster is demonstrated to be the replacement of weak Ni-Mo interaction by the strong Ru-Mo interaction, which may be derived from the enhanced d-orbital hybridization.

In this paper,we apply the spatial panel model to explore the relationship between the dynamic of two types of crude oil prices(WTI and Brent crude oil)and their refined products over *** the turbulent months of 2011,when Cushing Oklahoma had reached capacity and the crude oil export ban removal in 2015 as breakpoints,we apply this method both in the full sample and the three resultant ***,results suggest our results show that both WTI and Brent display very similar behaviour with the refined ***,when attending to each regime,results derived from the first and third regimes are quite similar to the full sample ***,during the second regime,Brent crude oil became the benchmark in the petrol market,and it influenced the distillate ***,our model can let us determine the price-setters and price-followers in the price formation mechanism through refined *** results possess important considerations to policymakers and the market participants and the price formation.

The asphaltene fractions of the bitumens of Eastern Dahomey Basin in Nigeria,were analyzed by flash pyrolysis-gas chromatography(Py-GC)method in order to unravel its geochemical history and *** distributions of the initial biomarkers of the original oils from the pyrolysates are related to the assessment of organic matter source,paleo-redox conditions and source environment during ***,it effectively establishes the genetic relationship of the *** n-alkane distributions in the pyrolysates reveal nC_(9)-nC_(32)n-alkanes,maximizing at nC_(14),isoprenoids-pristane(Pr)and phytane(Ph),and some n-alkene *** peaks of low to medium-weight nC_(9)-nC20 n-alkanes and low peaks of nC_(21)+n-alkanes characterize the *** reveal that abundant algal organic matter with some terrigenous inputs contributed to the source rock of the *** high concentration of marine organic matter inputs to the source rock is further confirmed by the nC_(17)/nC27 ratios which range from 5.39 to 19.82 and shows the predominance of nC_(17)*** general unimodal n-alkane distributions in the bitumens indicate derivation from similar organic matter types showing that they are genetically *** anoxic to suboxic environmental conditions that prevailed during the deposition of the sediments is revealed by the isoprenoids,Pr/Ph ratios(0.72-1.28).Pristane/nC_(17)and Phytane/nC_(18)range from 0.16 to 0.33 and 0.22 to 0.56,revealing that the bitumens were from predominantly marine organic matter(type II kerogen)preserved in a reducing environment with no evidence of ***,the Ph/nC_(18)ratio and the cross plot of Pr+Ph/nC_(17)+nC_(18)allow the classification of the bitumens into two subfamilies/groups(A and B).The bitumen samples have low wax content as indicated by the degree of waxiness ranging from 0.21 to 0.38 which confirms low terrigenous *** on the carbon preference index(CPI:0.92 to 1.55)and odd-even predo
