The capability of Sentinel-2 image and FieldSpec3 for detecting lithium-containing minerals in central Iran

To date,there are very few studies about the spectroscopy of lithium-containing minerals(LCMs)in the scientific *** main objective of this study is to investigate the capability of Sentinel-2 image and FieldSpec3 spectro-radiometer in terms of mapping five important LCMs,including spodumene,lepidolite,amblygonite,petalite,and ***,first the FieldSpec3 spectro-radiometer was used to create the spectral curves of the ***,accurate spectral analysis and comparison of the studied LCMs were performed using The Spectral Geologist(TSG)and the Prism *** two software can show even slight difference in absorption features of different LCMs,which can discriminate and identify these ***-bearing rocks show absorption features at~365,~2200,and~2350 nm and reflective features at~550-770 *** features are consistent with Sentinel-2 ***,the created spectral curves were utilized for calibration of Sentinel-2 optical image to detect and map the potential zones of the rock units containing minerals mentioned above in a part of the central Iranian *** using the Spectral Angle Mapper(SAM)classifier module,the potential areas were *** of the five LCMs,petalite and spodumene showed more extensive coverage in the study *** speaking,the largest concentration of those LCMs can be seen in southern and centraleastern parts of the study *** comparison between spectral curves of reference and classified minerals confirmed the high capability of Sentinel-2 image for LCMs *** image classification results also confirmed the presence of the LCMs,but it cannot distinguish the LCMs type successfully.

The role of α- and β-adrenergic receptors in the spasmolytic effects on rat ileum of Petroselinum crispum Latifolum(parsley)

Objective:To investigate Petroselinum crispum Latifolum(parsley) for treating stomach and intestinal disorders in ***:An 80%ethanol extract was prepared from parsley seeds, and its antispasmodic activity assessed by measuring contractions of isolated ilea induced by 60 mM potassium chloride(KG).A piece of ileum from an adult male Wistar rat was dissected and mounted in an organ bath containing Tyrode’s solution,and ileum contractions were recorded by an isotonic transducer under one gram resting *** effect of parsley extract was measured in the presence of two antagonists’ of a - and(***:These experiments showed that parsley extract inhibited the response to 60 mM KC1 in a concentration-dependent manner(P<0.01,n=7).The spasmolytic effect of parsley extract was unaffected by 1μM phentolamine or 1μM ***:This study shows that parsley seed extract is a relaxant of isolated rat ileum and the relaxation effect of extract does not involved adrenergic receptors.

Voronoi Based Discrete Least Squares Meshless Method for Heat Conduction Simulation in Highly Irregular Geometries

A new technique is used in Discrete Least Square Meshfree（DLSM） method to remove the common existing deficiencies of meshfree methods in handling of the problems containing cracks or concave boundaries. An enhanced Discrete Least Squares Meshless method named as VDLSM（Voronoi based Discrete Least Squares Meshless） is developed in order to solve the steady-state heat conduction problem in irregular solid domains including concave boundaries or cracks. Existing meshless methods cannot estimate precisely the required unknowns in the vicinity of the above mentioned boundaries. Conducted researches are limited to domains with regular convex boundaries. To this end, the advantages of the Voronoi tessellation algorithm are implemented. The support domains of the sampling points are determined using a Voronoi tessellation algorithm. For the weight functions, a cubic spline polynomial is used based on a normalized distance variable which can provide a high degree of smoothness near those mentioned above discontinuities. Finally, Moving Least Squares（MLS） shape functions are constructed using a varitional method. This straight-forward scheme can properly estimate the unknowns（in this particular study, the temperatures at the nodal points） near and on the crack faces, crack tip or concave boundaries without need to extra backward corrective procedures, i.e. the iterative calculations for modifying the shape functions of the nodes located near or on these types of the complex boundaries. The accuracy and efficiency of the presented method are investigated by analyzing four particular examples. Obtained results from VDLSM are compared with the available analytical results or with the results of the well-known Finite Elements Method（FEM） when an analytical solution is not available. A survey on Hibiscus rosa-sinensis,Alcea rosea *** Malva neglecta Wallr as antibacterial agents

Objective:To guide for selection of plants with antibacterial activity for further phytochemical works on the isolation and identification of the active ***:Ethanolic extracts of 3 species from Malvaceae family were evaluated by agar disc diffusion method for antibacterial activity against some gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria(Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Listeria monocytogenes,Staphylococcus *** aureus, Klebsiella *** typhi,Bacillus *** anthracis,Escherichia coli and Streptococcus pyogenes).The extracts were obtained from aerial parts of Hibiscus rosa(H. rosa)-sinensis(leaf and flower),Alcea rosea(***) L.(leaf and flower) and Malva neglecta(M. neglecta) Wallr(flower).Results:These extracts had inhibitory effects at different concentrations (0.05,0.10,0.20 and 0.40 g/mL) against above mentioned *** coli was the most resistant *** highest inhibitory zone was showed by ethanolic extract of *** against Staphylococcus epidermidis(22 mm) and followed by ethanolic extract from flower of *** against Staphylococcus epidermidis and Staphylococcus aureus(20 mm).The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration(MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration(MBC) values against Staphylococcus epidermidis were equal(M1C=MBC=5 mg/mL for *** extract and for H. rosa extract MIC=MBC=20 mg/mL).Conclusions:These findings suggest that these native plants have good antibacterial properties that can be used for infection control and treatment and could also be as new source for antibiotics discovery and infection treatment.

Friction-stir-welded overaged 7020-T6 alloy joint: an investigation on the effect of rotational speed on the microstructure and mechanical properties

Commercial A7020-T6 plates in the overaged state were subjected to friction stir welding with four different tool rotational speeds of 500, 710, 1000, and 1400 r/min and a single traverse feed rate of 40 mm/min. The resultant changes in the welding heat input, microstructure, and the mechanical properties of the joints were investigated. The changes were related to the processes of growth, dissolution, and re-formation of precipitates. The precipitate evolution was examined by differential scanning calorimetry, and the microstructural analysis was conducted using optical, scanning, and transmission electron microscopes. The results showed that the grain size in the stirred zone(SZ) decreased substantially compared with the base metal, but increased with tool rotational speed because of the rise in temperature. We found that the width of the heat-affected zone increased with tool rotational speed. The hardness and the tensile strength in the SZ increased with increasing heat input compared with the base metal in the overaged condition. This recovery in mechanical properties of the joints can be attributed to the dissolution and re-formation of precipitates in the SZ and the thermomechanically affected zone. This process is referred to as an "auto-aging treatment."

Preliminary study on the antibacterial activity of some medicinal plants of Khuzestan(Iran)

Objective:To search for antimicrobial agents among natural ***:Ethanolic extracts of 4 plant species,including Beta vulgaris L.(Chenopodiaceae),Amaranthus graecizans (***) L.(Amaranthaceae),Rumex obtusifolius(***) *** Polygonum patulum(***) M.B.(Polygonaceae),were evaluated for antibacterial activity using agar disc diffusion method against some gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria[Pseudomonas aeruginosa(***),Listeria monocytogenes(***).Staphylococcus epidermidis(***),Staphylococcus aureus(***),Klebsiella pneumoniae(K. pneumoniae),Salmonella typhi(***),Bacillus cereus(***).Bacillus anthracis(B. anthracis),Escherichia coli(***) and Streptococcus pyogenes(***)].These extracts were obtained from aerial parts of the used ***:The majority of these extracts had inhibitory effect at different concentrations(0.05 g/mL,0.10 g/mL,0.20 g/mL and 0.40 g/mL) against above mentioned *** was the most resistant *** highest inhibitory zone was showed by ethanolic extract of *** against ***(28 mm) and followed by ethanolic extract of *** against ***(23 mm).The extract of *** didn’t show inhibitory activity except at 0.40 g/mL against *** minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration(MBC) values of *** extract that was measured against *** were equal(MIC=MBC=5.00mg/mL).Conclusion: The findings of this study could also be as new source for antibiotics discovery and infection treatment.

Antimicrobial properties of Teucrium polium against some clinical pathogens

Objective:To explore the antibacterial effect of the alcoholic extracts of aerial parts of Teucrium polium,native in Iran on some pathogenic ***:Antibacterial activity of ethanolic extract(50 to 400 mg/mL) and methanolic extract(400 and 600 mg/mL) was evaluated by disc diffusion ***:The ethanolic extract results showed that Bacillus anthracis was the most sensitive species,while Escherichia coli and Proteus mirabilis were more resistant than *** the case of the methanolic extract,Bordetella bronchiseptica was the most sensitive and Proteus mirabilis and Arcanobacterium pyogenes were the most resistant *** hydroalcoholic extract of Teucrium polium had a relatively satisfactory effect on Salmonella typhi. The minimal inhibitory concentration(MIC) of Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi was 40 mg/mL and Bordetella bronchiseptica and Bacillus anthracis was 10 mg/*** minimal bactericidal concentration(MBC) against Bacillus anthracis was 10 mg/mL while against other species were not found(>200 mg/mL).The methanolic extract had also synergistic effect with methicillin,vancomycin against Staphylococcus aureus and with novobiocin against Salmonella ***:These results suggest that this plant contains relatively good antibacterial activity and it can be used as a source of antiseptic compounds for medicinal uses.

Divergence and flutter instability of magneto-thermo-elastic C-BN hetero-nanotubes conveying fluid

On the basis of finite element analysis,an eigenvalue problem is performed to examine the vibrational characteristics of a hetero-nanotube made of carbon(C)and boron nitride(BN)nanotubes in magnetic and thermal *** incorporating the assumption of nonlocal elasticity theory,the size-dependent behavior of the considered structure is also taken into *** obtained results demonstrate that the onset of the divergence and flutter instabilities may be postponed by exploiting a hetero-nanotube rather than a uniform one composed of carbon ***,it is exhibited that,in the presence of fluid flow,the mode shape configuration of nanotubes may be different from those of classical modes and therefore the later one should not be utilized in the dynamic analysis of fluid-conveying ***,it is shown that,as the temperature decreases,the natural frequencies of the system decrease in high temperature conditions and increase for the case of room temperature.

Genetic diversity and population structure analysis of Pistacia species revealed by phenylalanine ammonia-lyase gene markers and implications for conservation

Information on population genetic structure and crop genetic diversity is important for genetically improving crop species and conserving threatened species. The PAL gene sequence is part of a multigene family that can be utilized to design DNA marker systems for genetic diversity and population structure investigation. In the current study, genetic diversity and population structure of 100 accessions of wild Pistacia species were investigated with 78 PAL markers. A protocol for using PAL sequences as DNA markers was developed. A total of 313 PAL loci were recognized, showing 100% polymorphism for PAL markers. The PAL markers produced relatively more observed and effective alleles in Pistacia falcata and Pistacia atlantica, with a higher Shannon＇s information index and expected heterozygosity in P. atlantica, Pistacia vera and Pistacia mutica. Pairwise assessment of Nei＇s genetic distance and genetic identity between populations revealed a close association between geographically iso- lated populations of Pistacia khinjuk and Pistacia chinensis. The accessions of wild Pistacia species had more genetic relationship among studied groups of species. Analysis of molecular variance indicated 19% among- population variation and 81% within-population variation for the PAL gene based DNA marker. Population structure analysis based on PAL revealed four groups with high genetic admixture among populations. The results establish PAL markers as a functional DNA marker system and provide important genetic information about accessions from wild populations of Pistacia species.

Monkeypox(Mpox)has posed a novel challenge and emerged as a threat to global public health since the onset of its outbreak in *** is spreading throughout the world in both endemic and non-endemic countries,indicating that its behavior is *** prevalence of Mpox and the risk of a global pandemic necessitate a better understanding of Mpox virus replications and interactions with the ***,we attempted to provide a detailed comprehensive review of Mpox virus behavior at the molecular level from the entry level to the establishment of a successful infection,including attachment and entry,DNA replication,protein expression and viron assembly and *** review also describes its strategies to evade host immune responses and inhibit apoptosis,and uncovers underlying molecular mechanisms such as subverted signaling pathways and cellular factors behind host-viral interactions.
