The care of a patient involved in major trauma with exsanguinating haemorrhage is time-critical to achieve definitive haemorrhage control,and it requires coordinated multidisciplinary *** initial resuscitation of a patient in the emergency department(ED),Code Crimson activation facilitates rapid decisionmaking by multi-disciplinary specialists for definitive haemorrhage control in operating theatre(OT)and/or interventional radiology(IR)*** this decision has been made,there may still be various factors that lead to delay in transporting the patient from ED to OT/*** Blanket protocol identifies and addresses these factors and processes which cause delay,and aims to facilitate rapid and safe transport of the haemodynamically unstable patient from ED to OT,while minimizing delay in resuscitation during the *** two processes,Code Crimson and Red Blanket,complement each *** would be ideal to merge the two processes into a single protocol rather than having two separate *** these quality improvement strategies and coor-dinated processes within the trauma framework of the hospitals/healthcare systems will help in further improving the multi-disciplinary care for the complex trauma patients requiring rapid and definitive haemorrhage control.

BACKGROUND:Developments in information technology(IT)have driven a push in healthcare innovation in the emergency department(ED).Many of these applications rely on mobile technology(MT)such as smartphones but not everyone is comfortable with MT *** study aims to characterize the technology usage behavior of users in the ED so as to guide the implementation of IT interventions in the ***:A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the emergency department of a tertiary *** and their caregivers aged 21 and above were *** survey collected demographic information,technology usage patterns,and participant reported comfort level in the usage of *** performed descriptive statistics and multivariate logistic regression to identify factors differentially associated with comfort in usage of ***:A total of 498 participants were recruited,and 299(60%)were *** was the most commonly written and read language(66.9%)and 64.2%reported a comfort level of 3/5 or more in using *** that were associated with being comfortable in using MT include having a tertiary education,being able to read and write English,as well as being a frequent user of *** were more likely to display these ***:A large proportion of ED patients are not comfortable in the usage of *** that predicted comfort level in the usage of MT were common amongst *** interventions should take this into consideration in the design of MT interventions.

This research explored the basic issue of what preparedness means and entails to people in Fako Division,Cameroon—a place threated by many hazards and that has experienced many *** from the analysis of the 33 interviews conducted in this study indicate that preparedness is a dynamic state of readiness that is dependent on context,a social process,and a process of completing activities to save lives and minimize the effects of *** addition,the research determined that Cameroonians view a wholly prepared person as someone who would:(1)have knowledge about hazards and what to do about them;(2)engage others,including their families and neighbors,in discussions about activities related to hazards;and(3)participate in activities to minimize loss from hazards,sustain themselves in the face of hazards,and flee from *** findings from the interview data synchronize to a large extent with what is implied,but not clearly stated,in the existing research *** article addresses this synchrony,posits a definition of preparedness,and identifies the theoretical components of preparedness.

Association analysis is an effective data mining approach capable of unveiling interesting associations within a large *** widely adopted in e-business areas,it still has many difficulties when applied in *** instance,there is a mismatch between the static rules discovered and the drifting nature of the user interests,and it is difficult to detect associations from a huge volume of raw user *** paper presents an effective approach to mine evolving association rules in order to tackle these *** is followed by a recommendation model based on the evolving association rules *** results on an online toggery show that it can effectively unveil people's shifting interests and make better recommendations accordingly.

Sequences with nice pseudo-randomness play an important role in not only communication system but also cryptography system. Based on the Legendre-Sidelnikov sequence, a modified Legendre-Sidelnikov sequence was introduced. The exact value of the autocorrelation function was derived by strict computation. According to the values of the autocorrelation functions of the two Legendre-Sidelnikov sequences, it is proven that both of them have perfect pseudo-randomness. Furthermore, a detailed comparison between autocorrelation functions of the two Legendre-Sidelnikov sequences was deduced. It indicates that no matter which parameters are chosen, the modified sequence has pseudo-randomness as good as the primitive sequence, which is of great significance for applications.

Diaphragmatic injuries in penetrating trauma are occult and may be easily *** signs of diaphragmatic injury on computed tomography scan include discontinuous and/or dangling diaphragm sign,thickened diaphragm,organ herniation,collar sign,associated rib fracture,and contiguous injury on either side of the *** detection of these signs varies based on the mechanism of injury,that is,penetrating versus blunt *** management of an unstable patient with penetrating trauma and diaphragmatic injury is exploratory laparotomy,while laparoscopy is an alternate option in hemodynamically stable patients.A high level of suspicion is required to avoid missing this occult diagnosis and its associated complications.
