“Peripheral nerve injury”refers to damage or trauma affecting nerves outside the brain and spinal *** nerve injury results in movements or sensation impairments,and represents a serious public health *** severed peripheral nerves have been effectively joined and various therapies have been offered,recovery of sensory or motor functions remains limited,and efficacious therapies for complete repair of a nerve injury remain *** emerging field of mesenchymal stem cells and their exosome-based therapies hold promise for enhancing nerve regeneration and *** stem cells,as large living cells responsive to the environment,secrete various factors and *** latter are nano-sized extracellular vesicles containing bioactive molecules such as proteins,microRNA,and messenger RNA derived from parent mesenchymal stem *** have pivotal roles in cell-to-cell communication and nervous tissue function,offering solutions to changes associated with cell-based *** ongoing investigations,mesenchymal stem cells and mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosome-based therapies are in the exploratory stage.A comprehensive review of the latest preclinical experiments and clinical trials is essential for deep understanding of therapeutic strategies and for facilitating clinical *** review initially explores current investigations of mesenchymal stem cells and mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes in peripheral nerve injury,exploring the underlying ***,it provides an overview of the current status of mesenchymal stem cell and exosomebased therapies in clinical trials,followed by a comparative analysis of therapies utilizing mesenchymal stem cells and ***,the review addresses the limitations and challenges associated with use of mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosomes,offering potential solutions and guiding future directions.

Magnetron sputtered nickel oxide with suppressed interfacial defect states for efficient inverted perovskite solar cells

Widely used spin-coated nickle oxide （NiOx） based perovskite solar cells often suffer from severe interfacial reactions between the NiOxand adjacent perovskite layers due to surface defect states,which inherently impair device performance in a long-term view,even with surface molecule *** this study,we developed high-quality magnetron-sputtered NiOxthin films through detailed process optimization,and compared systematically sputtered and spin-coated NiOxthin film surfaces from materials to *** sputtered NiOxfilms exhibit improved crystallinity,smoother surfaces,and significantly reduced Ni3+or Ni vacancies compared to their spin-coated ***,the interface between the perovskite and sputtered NiOxfilm shows a substantially reduced density of defect *** solar cells （PSCs） fabricated with our optimally sputtered NiOxfilms achieved a high power conversion efficiency （PCE） of up to 19.93%and demonstrated enhanced stability,maintaining 86.2% efficiency during 500 h of maximum power point tracking under one standard sun ***,with the surface modification using (4-(2,7-dibromo-9,9-dimethylacridin-10（9H）-yl)butyl)p hosphonic acid （DMAcPA）,the device PCE was further promoted to 23.07%,which is the highest value reported for sputtered NiOxbased PSCs so far.

A reduction in adult neurogenesis is associated with behavioral abnormalities in patients with Alzheimer's ***,enhancing adult neurogenesis represents a promising therapeutic approach for mitigating disease symptoms and ***,nonpharmacological interventions aimed at inducing adult neurogenesis are currently *** individual non-pharmacological interventions,such as aerobic exercise,acousto-optic stimulation,and olfactory stimulation,have shown limited capacity to improve neurogenesis and cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease,the therapeutic effect of a strategy that combines these interventions has not been fully *** this study,we observed an age-dependent decrease in adult neurogenesis and a concurrent increase in amyloid-beta accumulation in the hippocampus of amyloid precursor protein/presenilin 1 mice aged 2-8 *** deposition became evident at 4 months,while neurogenesis declined by 6 months,further deteriorating as the disease ***,following a 4-week multifactor stimulation protocol,which encompassed treadmill running(46 min/d,10 m/min,6 days per week),40 Hz acousto-optic stimulation(1 hour/day,6 days/week),and olfactory stimulation(1 hour/day,6 days/week),we found a significant increase in the number of newborn cells(5'-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine-positive cells),immature neurons(doublecortin-positive cells),newborn immature neurons(5'-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine-positive/doublecortin-positive cells),and newborn astrocytes(5'-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine-positive/glial fibrillary acidic protein-positive cells).Additionally,the amyloid-beta load in the hippocampus *** findings suggest that multifactor stimulation can enhance adult hippocampal neurogenesis and mitigate amyloid-beta neuropathology in amyloid precursor protein/presenilin 1 ***,cognitive abilities were improved,and depressive symptoms were alleviated in amyloid precursor protein/presenilin 1 mice

Cell-structure and mechanical properties of closed-cell aluminum foam

The density, cell size and structure of closed-cell aluminum foam were measured by optical microscopy and image analysis. The properties and the mechanism of compressive deformation that occur in closed-cell aluminum foam were measured and discussed. The results show that the cell size of foam with density of 0.37 mg/m^3 is distributed in the range of 0.5 4.0 mm. The cell size of foam with density of 0.33 mg/m^3 is distributed in the range of 0.55.0 mm. The cell wall thickness of both types is 0.10.3 mm. The closed-cell aluminum foam almost belongs to isotropic one, with a variation of ±15% in elastic modulus and yield strength in longitudinal and transverse direction. Under compressive loading, foam materials show inhomogeneous macroscopic deformation. The site of the onset of local plastic deformation depends on the cell structure. The shape of cell is more important than size in determining the yielding susceptibility of the cells. At early stage of deformation,the deformation is localized in narrow bands having width of one cells diameter, and outside the bands the cell still remains the original shape. The cells within bands experience large permanent deformation. The band normals are usually within 20° of the loading axis.

Influence of Aging and 2-hydroxyethyl-methacrylate Content on the Color Stability of Experimental 2-hydroxyethyl-methacrylate-added dental Glass Ionomers

Color stability of dental resin modified glass ionomer （RMGI） has been a challenge to dentistry; therefore, systematic changes in 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate （HEMA） content were performed experimentally to find an idea to enhance the color stability. Changes in color （△E＊ab） and color coordinates （△L＊, △a＊ and △b＊） of experimental 10-50 wt pct HEMA-added dental glass ionomers （HAGIs） and corresponding RMGIs were determined after 5000 cycles of thermocycling. Color changes of HAGIs were not influenced by the HEMA content while △L＊, △a＊ and △b＊ values were influenced by the HEMA content. Color stability of 30% or 40% HEMA-added HAGIs was not different from those of the commercial RMGIs. Since the influence of HEMA itself on the color stability of HAGIs was limited, compositional modification to increase the color stability of these materials should be developed.

Luminescence of Eu ^(3+) in LnAlO_3 (Ln=Gd,Y) under UV and VUV Excitation

Single phases of LnAlO 3:Eu 3+ (Ln=Gd,Y) were obtained by the process of evaporation of their nitric acid solution, and then pyrolysis of their nitrate salts. On monitoring by 613 nm emission, broad bands at around 270 and 170 nm were observed in the excitation spectrum of Gd 0.95Eu 0.05AlO 3. These peaks could be assigned to charge transfer (CT) transitions of Eu 3+-O 2- and Gd 3+-O 2- respectively. All the transitions observed in Gd 0.95Eu 0.05AlO 3 are faithfully reproduced in the Y 0.95Eu 0.05AlO 3, but with an exception of the 8S 7/2→ 6I 11/2 transition of Gd 3+. The 153 nm broad band could be the CT transition of Y 3+-O 2-. Accordingly, the efficiency luminescence of (Gd,Y)BO 3:Eu 3+ was explained as a result of CT transitions of Gd 3+-O 2- and Y 3+-O 2- under 147 nm excitation. Under VUV excitation, Gd 0.95Eu 0.05AlO 3 exhibits a bright red luminescence with CIE chromaticity coordinates of (0.623, 0.335) with a PL intensity of 30 of the commercial phosphor (Gd,Y)BO 3:Eu 3+ (KX-504A). The PL spectrum of Y 0.95Eu 0.05AlO 3 is similar to that of Gd 0.95Eu 0.05AlO 3. Calculation of the color coordinates gives x=0.636, y=0.340 with a PL intensity of 50 of the (Gd,Y)BO 3:Eu 3+ (KX-504A) for Y 0.95Eu 0.05AlO 3, and confirms that it has the appearance of pure spectral red, corresponding approximately to 608 nm. It can be concluded that LnAlO 3:Eu 3+ is a promising red VUV phosphor.

A low redox potential and long life organic anode material for sodium-ion batteries

Sodium-ion batteries （SIBs） with organic electrodes are an emerging research direction due to the sustainability of organic materials based on elements like C,H,O,and sodium ***,organic electrode materials for SIBs are mainly used as cathodes because of their relatively high redox potentials（>1 V）.Organic electrodes with low redox potential that can be used as anode are ***,a novel organic anode material （tetrasodium 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylate,Na4TDC） has been developed with low redox potential （<0.7 V） and excellent cyclic *** three-sodium storage mechanism was demonstrated with various in-situ/ex-situ spectroscopy and theoretical calculations,showing a high capacity of 208 mAh/g and an average decay rate of merely 0.022%per ***,the Na4TDC-hard carbon composite can further acquire improved capacity and cycling stability for 1200 cycles even with a high mass loading of up to 20 mg *** pairing with a thick Na3V2（PO4）3cathode (20.6 mg cm-2),the as-fabricated full cell exhibited high operating voltage （2.8 V）,excellent rate performance and cycling stability with a high capacity retention of 88.7% after 200 cycles,well highlighting the Na4TDC anode material for SIBs.

Interface between metallic film from Fe-Ni-C system and HPHT as-grown diamond single crystal

Microstructures of surface layer (near diamond) of the metallic film from Fe Ni C system are composed of (Fe,Ni) 3C, (Fe,Ni) 23 C 6 and γ (Fe,Ni), from which it can be assumed that graphite isnt directly catalyzed into diamond through the film and there exists a transition phase (Fe,Ni) 3C that can decompose into diamond structure. AFM morphologies on the film/diamond interface are traces preserved after carbon groups moving from the film to diamond. The morphologies on the as grown diamond are similar to those on corresponding films, being spherical on (100) face and sawtooth like steps on (111) face. Diamond growth rates and temperature gradients in boundary layer of the molten film at HPHT result in morphology differences.

Application of Low Temperature Liquid Sulfurization Catalyzed with Rare Earth on Cr12 Impacting Die

One kind of quenched Cr12 steel dies for impacting stainless steel wire rope （SSWR） was treated by low temperature liquid sulfurization catalyzed with rare earths, in order to extend their service life for assuring the continuity of production line, and simultaneously improve the surface quality of SSWR obtained. After immerged into the melting sulphur containing 4 % （mass fraction） of LaF3 and 1% of CeCl3 at 463 K for 4 h, the sulfurized dies were very smooth and black, with little distortion and hardness loss. They exhibited a certain extent of corrosion-resistance in air due to the coexisting rare earths in the sulfurized layer. Optical observations showed that the sulfurized layer was uniform and had scale-like structure. The trail of machined SSWR indicated that the production capacity of sulfurized dies had been doubled and the replacing period on line was postponed. SEM morphology also proved that the wear extent of cavities on sulfurized dies decreased greatly and the surface quality of SSWR obtained was improved markedly.

Influence of Ca addition on valence electron structure of Mg_(17)Al_(12)

The alloy AZ91 containing calcium was prepared under protection of a mixed gas atmosphere of SF6 （1%, volume fraction） and CO2. The added calcium mainly dissolves into the Mg17Al12 phase in the alloy and increases its melting point and the thermal stability. The empirical electron theory （EET） of solid and molecules was used to calculate the valence electron structures （VES） of Mg17Al12 phase with different amounts of calcium additions. The theoretical calculations indicate that calcium dissolved in Mg17Al12 phase increases the strengths of atomic bonds that control the thermal stability of Mg17Al12 phase, and also makes the distribution of valence electrons on the dominant bond network as well as in the whole unit cell of Mg17Al12 more uniform, which are consistent with the experimental results.
