The aim of this study was to design a cage-like radiotherapy system(CRTS)to further promote the clinical application of noncoplanar *** CRTS comprises two stands,two O-rings,several arc girders,an X-ray head,an imaging subsystem,and a treatment *** X-ray head rotates with O-rings around the patient’s body and slides along the arc *** with the C-arm linear accelerator(C-Linac),the clinically available spatial irradiation angle ranges(SIARs)of the CRTS for the head,chest,and abdomen were 33%,63.6%,and 62.6%larger,***,according to a preliminary planning comparison based on the dose distribution simulation method,the CRTS achieved much better protection of normal tissue than the ***,the CRTS enabled accurate noncoplanar irradiation without movement of the body being irradiated,allowed automatic control of the movements of different parts without risk of collisions,and provided continuous radiation over an angle that considerably exceeded a full *** advantages make CRTS very promising for noncoplanar radiotherapy.

Ribosomal proteins （RPs）, the essential components of the ribosome, are a family of RNA-binding proteins, which play prime roles in ribosome biogenesis and protein translation. Recent studies revealed that RPs have additional extra-ribosomal func- tions, independent of protein biosynthesis, in regulation of diverse cellular processes. Here, we review recent advances in our understanding of how RPs regulate apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, cell proliferation, neoplastic transformation, cell migration and invasion, and tumorigenesis through both MDM2/p53-dependent and p53-independent mechanisms. We also discuss the roles of RPs in the maintenance of genome integrity via modulating DNA damage response and repair. We further discuss mutations or deletions at the somatic or gennline levels of some RPs in human cancers as well as in patients of Diamond-Blackfan ane- mia and 5q- syndrome with high susceptibility to cancer development. Moreover, we discuss the potential clinical application, based upon abnormal levels of RPs, in biomarker development for early diagnosis and/or prognosis of certain human cancers. Finally, we discuss the pressing issues in the field as future perspectives for better understanding the roles of RPs in human cancers to eventually benefit human health.

Gastric cancer represents a serious health problem on a global scale. It is the second leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Novel therapeutic targets are desperately needed because the meager improvement in the cure rate of about 10% realized by adjunctive treatments to surgery is unacceptable as > 50% patients with localized gastric cancer succumb to their disease. Either postoperative chemoradiotherapy (United States), pre-and post-operative chemotherapy (Europe), and adjuvant chemotherapy after a D2 resection (Asia) can all be regarded as standards of care in the localized gastric cancer management. In metastatic disease the addition of trastuzumab to chemotherapy is standard of care in Her2 positive disease. In the HER2 negative population, the treatments remain limited. In the first line setting, the standard of care is a combination of fluoropyrimidine and platinum containing chemotherapy, with or without epirubicin or docetaxel. The results of targeted therapy trials have by and large been disappointing, but none of these trials looked at an appropriately enriched population. Finally there is a meager overall survival benefit in treating patients with metastatic disease in the second line setting, with either irinotecan, docetaxel or ramucirumab however none of these drugs have been compared head to head in a well-powered randomized controlled trial.

BACKGROUND Para-aortic lymph nodes(PALNs)are common sites for the regional spread of cervical squamous cell carcinoma(SCC).CASE SUMMARY We report the case of a 36-year-old woman who presented with cervical SCC with multiple bulky PALNs,largest measured 4.5 cm×5 cm×10 *** patient was treated with radical intent with definitive chemoradiation using sequential doseescalated adaptive radiotherapy,followed by maintenance *** patient achieved a complete response;she has been doing well since the completion of treatment with no evidence of the disease for 2 *** Regardless of the size of PALN metastases of cervical carcinoma origin,it is still treatable(with radical intent)via concurrent *** radiotherapy allows dose escalation with minimal toxicity.
