The robustness against noise, outliers, and corruption is a crucial issue in image feature extraction. To address this concern, this paper proposes a discriminative low-rank embedding image feature extraction algorithm. Firstly, to enhance the discriminative power of the extracted features, a discriminative term is introduced using label information, obtaining global discriminative information and learning an optimal projection matrix for data dimensionality reduction. Secondly, manifold constraints are incorporated, unifying low-rank embedding and manifold constraints into a single framework to capture the geometric structure of local manifolds while considering both local and global information. Finally, test samples are projected into a lower-dimensional space for classification. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves classification accuracies of 95.62%, 95.22%, 86.38%, and 86.54% on the ORL, CMUPIE, AR, and COIL20 datasets, respectively, outperforming dimensionality reduction-based image feature extraction algorithms.

Objective:To assess the performance and advantages of HyperArc for radiotherapy of multiple brain metastases with dosimetric parameters with respect to coplanar volumetric modulated arc radiotherapy(c-VMAT),and characterize implicit correlations between tumor features and dosimetric ***:This retrospective study involved 40 patients with multiple brain metastases(4–16 tumors,12.8–240.8 cm3)who received simultaneous radiotherapy at the department of radiation Oncology,Shenzhen People's Hospital from January 2019 to December *** HyperArc and c-VMAT plans were designed by the same and qualified physicist using the Eclipse system with Truebeam.A single isocenter and a 6 MV flattening filter-free(6FFF)photon beam were used for radiotherapy of multiple brain metastases in each *** parameters of tumors and organs at risk(OARs)were compared between HyperArc and c-VMAT ***-lations between tumor features(number and volume)and dosimetric parameters were revealed and ***,monitor units(MUs)of both plan types were recorded to assess rays utilization and delivery ***:Compared to c-VMAT plans,HyperArc plans achieved higher maximum dose(D_(max))(5.23%,t=7.87,P<0.01),but lower minimum dose(Dmin)(3.94%,t=-2.12,P=0.04)and mean dose(D_(mean))(1.05%,t=-3.29,P<0.01)for planning gross tumor volumes(PGTVs).The conformity index(CI),homogeneity index(HI),gradient index(GI)and R50%of PGTVs with HyperArc were better than those with c-VMAT,with the improve-ments of 20.78%,1.68%,19.83%and 36.20%,respectively(P<0.01).The dosimetric parameters of OARs were significantly improved in HyperArc plans compared to c-VMAT ***,the D_(max)and the D_(mean)to the brainstem decreased by 16.14%and 11.37%,*** D_(max)for eye_L decreased by 16.88%,for eye_R decreased by 11.67%,for optical nerve_L decreased by 12.56%,and for chiasm decreased by 18.12%.Few correlations were observed between the differences of CI/HI/GI

The process of turning forest area into land is known as deforestation or forest degradation. Reforestation as a fraction of deforestation is extremely low. For improved qualitative and quantitative classification, we used Sentinel-1 dataset of State of Para, Brazil to precisely and closely monitor deforestation between June 2019 and June 2023. This research aimed to find out suitable model for classification called Satellite Imaging analysis by Transpose deep neural transformation network (SIT-net) using mathematical model based on Band math approach to classify deforestation applying transpose deep neural network. The main advantage of proposed model is easy to handle SAR images. The study concludes that SAR satellite gives high-resolution images to improve deforestation monitoring and proposed model takes less computational time compared to other techniques.

The semiclassical non-perturbative atomic orbital close-coupling approach has been employed to study the electron capture and excitation processes in He^(2+)-H(1s)and He^(2+)-H(2s)collision *** order to ensure the accuracy of our calculated cross sections,a large number of high excited states and pseudostates are included in the expansion basis sets which are centered on the target and projectile,*** total and partial charge transfer and excitation cross sections are obtained for a wide-energy domain ranging from 1 keV/amu to 200 keV/*** present calculations are also compared with the results from other theoretical *** cross section data are useful for the investigation of astrophysics and laboratory plasma.

In this editorial,we proceed to comment on the article by Chua et al,addressing the management of metastatic lateral pelvic lymph nodes(mLLN)in stage II/III rectal cancer patients below the peritoneal *** treatment of this nodal area sparks significant controversy due to the strategic differences followed by Eastern and Western physicians,albeit with a higher degree of convergence in recent *** dissection of lateral pelvic lymph nodes without neoadjuvant therapy is a standard practice in Eastern *** contrast,in the West,preference leans towards opting for neoadjuvant therapy with chemoradiotherapy or radiotherapy,that would cover the treatment of this area without the need to add the dissection of these nodes to the total mesorectal *** the presence of high-risk nodal characteristics for mLLN related to radiological imaging and lack of response to neoadjuvant therapy,the risk of lateral local recurrence increases,suggesting the appropriate selection of strategies to reduce the risk of recurrence in each patient *** the heterogeneous and retrospective nature of studies addressing this area,an international consensus is necessary to approach this clinical scenario uniformly.

Transportation systems primarily depend on vehicular flow on roads. Developed coun-tries have shifted towards automated signal control, which manages and updates signal synchronisation automatically. In contrast, traffic in underdeveloped countries is mainly governed by manual traffic light systems. These existing manual systems lead to numerous issues, wasting substantial resources such as time, energy, and fuel, as they cannot make real‐time decisions. In this work, we propose an algorithm to determine traffic signal durations based on real‐time vehicle density, obtained from live closed circuit television camera feeds adjacent to traffic signals. The algorithm automates the traffic light system, making decisions based on vehicle density and employing Faster R‐CNN for vehicle detection. Additionally, we have created a local dataset from live streams of Punjab Safe City cameras in collaboration with the local police authority. The proposed algorithm achieves a class accuracy of 96.6% and a vehicle detection accuracy of 95.7%. Across both day and night modes, our proposed method maintains an average precision, recall, F1 score, and vehicle detection accuracy of 0.94, 0.98, 0.96 and 0.95, respectively. Our proposed work surpasses all evaluation metrics compared to state‐of‐the‐art methodologies.

Aerosol-radiation interaction and its variation in North China within 2015–2019 period under continuous PM_(2.5)improvements

A study was conducted on aerosol-radiation interactions over six cities in this region within the 2015–2019 ***-Chem simulations on 2017 showed that based on the six-city average,the aerosol load(PM_(2.5)concentrations)of 121.9,49.6,43.3,and 66.3μg/m^(3)in January,April,July,and October,mainly lowered the level of downward shortwave radiation by 38.9,24.0,59.1,and 24.4 W/m~2and reduced the boundary layer height by 79.9,40.8,87.4,and 31.0 m,via scattering and absorbing solar *** sensitivity of meteorological changes to identical aerosol loads varied in the order July>January>October and ***,the cooling and stabilizing effects of aerosols further led to increases in PM_(2.5),by23.0,3.4,4.6,and 7.3μg/m^(3)respectively in the four *** sensitivity of the effect of aerosols on PM_(2.5)was greatest in January rather than in July,contrary to the effect on ***,a negative linear relation was observed between daily BLH reductions and aerosol loads in fall and winter,and between PM_(2.5)increases and aerosol loads in all *** the PM_(2.5)pollution improvements in this region,the aerosol radiative forcing was effectively *** should result in daily BLH increases of 10–24 m in fall and winter,and the estimates in Beijing agreed well with the corresponding results based on AMDAR ***,the reduction in aerosol radiation effects brought about daily PM_(2.5)decreases of 1.6-2.8μg/m^(3),accounting for 7.0%–17.7%in PM_(2.5)improvements.
