background:Living well is as important as living *** objective of this study is to assess quality of life(QoL)in congenital heart disease(CHD)according to current AHA/ACC anatomical and physiological ***:Cross-sectional study examining the World Health Organization QoL bref questionnaire(WHOQoL-bref)in consecutive outpatient CHD patients from a single ***:191 CHD patients were *** age was 28±13 years and 59%were male.44(23%),115(60%)and 33(17%)CHD patients showed mild,moderate and great anatomical defects respectively while 69(36%)patients were in physiological Stage A,27(14%)in Stage b,84(44%)in Stage C and 11(6%)in Stage *** significant differences were seen in relation the anatomical classification and the different sections of the WHOQoL-bref *** patients in Stages C and D had significant lower physical domain scores than patients in the Stage A(pbinary logistic regression analysis showed that having a higher educational level was a protective factor[OR 0.32(95%CI,0.12-0.87),p=0.026]while being married or cohabit was a risk factor[OR 3.46(95%CI,1.13-10.63),p=0.030]for having a worse rated ***,having a worse functional class(NYHA≥2)[OR 3.44(95%CI,1.20-9.81),p=0.021]was associated with dissatisfaction with ***:Patients with advanced physiological stages scored lower on the physiological *** statistical significance was seen,according to the anatomical and physiological classification,in the psychological,social relationship and environmental domains.

In nature,plants acquire nutrients from soils to sustain growth,and at the same time,they need to avoid the uptake of toxic compounds and/or possess tolerance systems to cope with *** is particularly challenging when the toxic compound and the nutrient are chemically similar,as in the case of phosphate and *** this study,we demonstrated that regulatory elements of the phosphate starvation response(PSR)coordinate the arsenate detoxification machinery in the *** showed that arsenate repression of the phosphate transporter PHT1;1 is associated with the degradation of the PSR master regulator *** arsenic is sequestered into the vacuole,PHR1 stability is restored and PHT1;1 expression is ***,we identified an arsenite responsive SKP1-like protein and a PHR1 interactor F-box(PHIF1)as constituents of the SCF complex responsible for PHR1 *** found that arsenite,the form to which arsenate is reduced for compartmentalization in vacuoles,represses PHT1;1 expression,providing a highly selective signal versus phosphate to control PHT1;1 expression in response to ***,our results provide molecular insights into a sensing mechanism that regulates arsenate/phosphate uptake depending on the plant’s detoxification capacity.

spain has been one of the main global pandemic epicenters for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Here,we analyzed>41000 genomes(including>26000 high-quality(HQ)genomes)downloaded from the GISAID repository,including 1245(922 HQ)sampled in *** aim of this study was to investigate genome variation of novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)and reconstruct phylogeographic and transmission patterns in *** analysis suggested at least 34 independent introductions of SARS-CoV-2 to spain at the beginning of the *** lineages spread very successfully in the country,probably favored by super-spreaders,namely,A2 a4(7.8%),A2 a5(38.4%),A2 a10(2.8%),b3 a(30.1%),and b9(8.7%),which accounted for 87.9% of all genomes in the Spanish *** distinct feature of the Spanish SARS-Cov-2 genomes was the higher frequency of b lineages(39.3%,mainly b3 a+b9)than found in any other European *** b3 a,b9,(and an important sub-lineage of A2 a5,namely,A2 a5 c)most likely originated in spain,the other three haplogroups were imported from other European *** b3 a strain may have originated in the basque Country from a b3 ancestor of uncertain geographic origin,whereas b9 likely emerged in *** time of the most recent common ancestor(TMRCA)of SARS-CoV-2 suggested that the first coronavirus entered the country around 11 February 2020,as estimated from the TMRCA of b3 a,the first lineage detected in the ***,earlier claims that the D614 G mutation is associated to higher transmissibility is not consistent with the very high prevalence of COVID-19 in spain when compared to other countries with lower disease incidence but much higher frequency of this mutation(56.4% in spain vs.82.4% in rest of Europe).Instead,the data support a major role of genetic drift in modeling the micro-geographic stratification of virus strains across the country as well as the role of SARS-CoV-2 super-spreaders.

Nitric oxide(NO)is an essential reactive oxygen species and a signal molecule in *** several studies have proposed the occurrence of oxidative NO production,only reductive routes for NO production,such as the nitrate(NO_(3)^(-))-upper-reductase pathway,have been evidenced to date in land ***,plants grown axenically with ammonium as the sole source of nitrogen exhibit contents of nitrite and NO3−,evidencing the existence of a metabolic pathway for oxidative production of *** hypothesized that oximes,such as indole-3-acetaldoxime(IAOx),a precursor to indole-3-acetic acid,are intermediate oxidation products in NO *** detected the production of NO from IAOx and other oximes catalyzed by peroxidase(POD)enzyme using both 4-amino-5-methylamino-2′,7′-difluorescein fluorescence and *** stimulated the reaction,while superoxide dismutase inhibited ***,mouse NO synthase can also use IAOx to produce NO at a lower rate than *** provided a full mechanism for POD-dependent NO production from IAOx consistent with the experimental data and supported by density functional theory *** showed that the addition of IAOx to extracts from Medicago truncatula increased the in vitro production of NO,while in vivo supplementation of IAOx and other oximes increased the number of lateral roots,as shown for NO donors,and a more than 10-fold increase in IAOx dehydratase ***,we found that in vivo supplementation of IAOx increased NO production in Arabidopsis thaliana wild-type plants,while prx33-34 mutant plants,defective in POD33-34,had reduced *** data show that the release of NO by IAOx,as well as its auxinic effect,explain the superroot ***,our study reveals that plants produce NO utilizing diverse molecules such as oximes,POD,and flavins,which are widely distributed in the plant kingdom,thus introducing a long-awaited oxidative pathway to NO production in plants.T

AIM: To analyze the attitude of Spanish medical students toward living liver donation (LLD) and to establish which factors have an influence on this ***: Study type: A sociological, interdisciplinary, multicenter and observational study. Study population: Medical students enrolled in spain (n = 34000) in the university academic year 2010-2011. Sample size: A sample of 9598 students stratified by geographical area and academic year. Instrument used to measure attitude: A validated questionnaire (PCID-DVH RIOS) was self-administered and completed anonymously. Data collection procedure: Randomly selected medical schools. The questionnaire was applied to each academic year at compulsory sessions. Statistical analysis: Student´s t test, χ2 test and logistic regression ***: The completion rate was 95.7% (n = 9275). 89% (n = 8258) were in favor of related LLD, and 32% (n = 2937) supported unrelated LLD. The following variables were associated with having a more favorable attitude: (1) age (P = 0.008); (2) sex (P demic year (P believing in the possibility of needing a transplant oneself in the future (P de toward deceased donation (P de toward living kidney donation (P ber if one were needed (P bject with one’s family (P bout the subject (P ble mutilation of the body after donation (P dents have a favorable attitude toward LLD.

brucella suis is responsible for swine brucellosis worldwide. Of the five different b. suis biovars （by.）, bv. 2 appears restricted to Europe where it is frequently isolated from wild boar and hares, can infect pigs and can cause human brucellosis. In this study, the differ- ential gene expression profile was characterized in spleens of Eurasian wild boar naturally infected with b. suis bv. 2. Of the 20,201 genes analyzed in the microarray, 633 and 1,373 were significantly （fold change 〉 1.8; P 〈 0.01） upregulated and downregulated, respectively, in infected wild boar. The analysis was focused on genes that were over represented after conditional test for biological process gene ontology. Upregulated genes suggested that b. suis bv. 2 infection induced cell maturation, migration and/or proliferation in infected animals. The genes downregulated in infected wild boar impaired the activity of several important cellular metabolic pathways such as metabolism, cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis, immune response and lysosomal function and vesicle-mediated transport. In addition, the response to stress, sperm fertility, muscle development and apoptosis seemed to be also impaired in infected animals. These results suggested that b. suis bv. 2 may use strategies similar to other smooth brucellae to facilitate intracellular multiplication and the development of chronic infections. To our knowledge, this is the first report of the analysis of gene expression profile in hosts infected with b. suis bv. 2, which is important to understand the molecular mechanisms at the host-pathogen interface in the main reservoir species with possible implications in the zoonotic cycle of the pathogen.

background:There is a growing body of experimental evidence examining the effects of plyometric jump training(PJT)on physical fitness attributes in basketball players;however,this evidence has not yet been comprehensively and systematically ***,our objective was to meta-analyze the effects of PJT on physical fitness attributes in basketball players,in comparison to a control ***:A systematic literature search was conducted in the databases PubMed,Web of Science,and Scopus,up to July ***-reviewed controlled trials with baseline and follow-up measurements investigating the effects of PJT on physical fitness attributes(muscle power,i.e.,jumping performance,linear sprint speed,change-of-direction speed,balance,and muscle strength)in basketball players,with no restrictions on their playing level,sex,or ***’s g effect sizes(ES)were calculated for physical fitness *** a random-effects model,potential sources of heterogeneity were selected,including subgroup analyses(age,sex,body mass,and height)and single training factor analysis(program duration,training frequency,and total number of training sessions).Computation of metaregression was also ***:Thirty-two studies were included,involving 818 total basketball ***(pdent on vertical jump power(ES=0.45),countermovement jump height with(ES=1.24)and without arm swing(ES=0.88),squat jump height(ES=0.80),drop jump height(ES=0.53),horizontal jump distance(ES=0.65),linear sprint time across distances≤10 m(ES=1.67)and>10 m(ES=0.92),change-of-direction performance time across distances≤40 m(ES=1.15)and>40 m(ES=1.02),dynamic(ES=1.16)and static balance(ES=1.48),and maximal strength(ES=0.57).The meta-regression revealed that training duration,training frequency,and total number of sessions completed did not predict the effects of PJT on physical fitness *** analysis indicated greater improvement

AIMTo analyze the diagnostic yield (DY), therapeutic impact (TI) and safety of capsule endoscopy (CE).METHODSThis is a multi-centre, observational, analytical, retrospective study. A total of 163 patients with suspicion of celiac disease (CD) (mean age = 46.4 ± 17.3 years, 68.1% women) who underwent CE from 2003 to 2015 were included. Patients were divided into four groups: seronegative CD with atrophy (Group-I, n = 19), seropositive CD without atrophy (Group-II, n = 39), contraindication to gastroscopy (Group-III, n = 6), seronegative CD without atrophy, but with a compatible context (Group-IV, n = 99). DY, TI and the safety of CE were *** overall DY was 54% and the final diagnosis was villous atrophy (n = 65, 39.9%), complicated CD (n = 12, 7.4%) and other enteropathies (n = 11, 6.8%; 8 Crohn’s). DY for groups I to IV was 73.7%, 69.2%, 50% and 44.4%, respectively. Atrophy was located in duodenum in 24 cases (36.9%), diffuse in 19 (29.2%), jejunal in 11 (16.9%), and patchy in 10 cases (15.4%). Factors associated with a greater DY were positive serology (68.3% vs 49.2%, P = 0.034) and older age (P = 0.008). On the other hand, neither sex nor clinical presentation, family background, positive histology or HLA status were associated with DY. CE results changed the therapeutic approach in 71.8% of the cases. Atrophy was associated with a greater TI (92.3% vs 45.3%, P ded to diet. There was one case of capsule retention (0.6%). Agreement between CE findings and subsequent histology was 100% for diagnosing normal/other conditions, 70% for suspected CD and 50% for complicated *** has a high DY in cases of suspicion of CD and it leads to changes in the clinical course of the disease. CE is safe procedure with a high degree of concordance with histology and it helps in the differential diagnosis of CD.
