This study investigated the perceptions and medical history of third molars(M3s)and assessed the prevalence of visible M3s(V-M3s)among 904 Chinese *** enrolled participants were interviewed to complete a structural questionnaire focused on sociodemographic information and their understanding of,attitudes toward,behaviors regarding,and medical history with respect to *** addition,the number of V-M3s in the cohort was determined by oral *** regression analysis was performed to explore the association between individuals'sociodemographic characteristics and their perception of M3s or the presence of *** Chi-square test was used to compare the actions taken against symptomatic M3s and the corresponding outcomes among different groups divided according to respondents'sociodemographic *** total,904 completed questionnaires were gathered and *** half(43.9%)of the respondents knew nothing about M3s,and only 12.7%provided correct answers to all the questions *** sex,older age,occupation involving physical labor,and no previous dental experience were active factors in unawareness of *** sex was also significantly associated with the presence of at least one V-M3 and negative behavior about symptomatic *** terms of medical history,192 participants reported having had at least one M3 extracted(438 in total),and 72.6%of the M3s were removed due to the presence of related symptoms or *** conclusion,the population investigated had a shortage of knowledge about M3s and adopted negative attitudes and actions about M3-related problems.

Cell transplantation therapy has certain limitations including immune rejection and limited cell viability,which seriously hinder the transformation of stem cellbased tissue regeneration into clinical *** vesicles(EVs)not only possess the advantages of its derived cells,but also can avoid the risks of cell *** are intelligent and controllable biomaterials that can participate in a variety of physiological and pathological activities,tissue repair and regeneration by transmitting a variety of biological signals,showing great potential in cell-free tissue *** this review,we summarized the origins and characteristics of EVs,introduced the pivotal role of EVs in diverse tissues regeneration,discussed the underlying mechanisms,prospects,and challenges of *** also pointed out the problems that need to be solved,application directions,and prospects of EVs in the future and shed new light on the novel cell-free strategy for using EVs in the field of regenerative medicine.

Implant site development using titanium plate and platelet-rich fibrin for congenitally missed maxillary lateral incisors:A case report

BACKGROUND Bone deficiency and soft tissue atrophy in the absence of maxillary lateral incisors are among the most challenging problems for implant *** bone grafting is the gold standard for bone augmentation,but not without ***-rich fibrin(PRF),a biodegradable autologous biomaterial,has been widely used for bone and soft tissue ***,titanium plate is an advantageous barrier due to its good space-maintaining ***,there is a lack of literature on implant site development using titanium plate and PRF for congenitally missing maxillary lateral *** SUMMARY The patient was a 19-year-old girl with a congenitally missing tooth(#12).She underwent implant placement and simultaneous autologous bone grafting with titanium plate and *** the follow-up visit 15 d post-procedure,the vascularization of soft tissue was *** was no swelling or pain after the *** months postoperatively,bone regeneration was ***,the definitive restoration was placed,and the patient was satisfied with the esthetic *** Implant site development using titanium plate and PRF for congenitally missing maxillary lateral incisors is a feasible *** this case,the labial bone plate was displaced but remained connected to the base bone,ensuring blood *** titanium plate fixed the labial bone plate and maintained the osteogenic space,while the PRF provided growth factors and leukocytes for bone and soft tissue ***,the procedure reduced the surgical complexity and adverse reactions,displaying outstanding esthetic outcomes.

Polyetheretherketone(PEEK)has been widely applied in orthopedics because of its excellent mechanical properties,radiolucency,and ***,the bioinertness and poor osteointegration of PEEK have greatly limited its further *** evidence proves that physical factors of implants,including their architecture,surface morphology,stiffness,and mechanical stimulation,matter as much as the composition of their surface *** review focuses on the multiple strategies for the physical modification of PEEK implants through adjusting their architecture,surface morphology,and *** research findings show that transforming the architecture and incorporating reinforcing fillers into PEEK can affect both its mechanical strength and cellular *** PEEK surfaces at the macro scale and micro/nano scale have positive effects on cell-substrate *** investigations are necessary to reach consensus on the optimal design of PEEK implants and to explore the efficiency of various functional implant ***-tissue integration has been ignored,though evidence shows that physical modifications also improve the adhesion of soft *** the future,ideal PEEK implants should have a desirable topological structure with better surface hydrophilicity and optimum surface chemistry.

Iatrogenic injury or trauma to the salivary gland duct is one of the most common causes of parotid sialoceles,which are usually superficial,soft,and filled with *** enrolled 7 patients with parotid sialocele were divided into two groups:trauma group(4 cases)and iatrogenic group(3 cases).No evidence of recurrence or cranial nerve injuries were *** persisted parotid sialocele,intraoral drainage for two weeks as a safe and inexpensive method is recommended.

Efficacy of Tounongsan decoction(透脓散方)on pyogenic liver abscess:network pharmacology and clinical trial validation

OBJECTIVE:To elucidate the molecular mechanisms governing the effect of Tounongsan decoction(透脓散方,TNS)on the pyogenic liver ***:Based on oral bioavailability and druglikeness,the main active components of TNS were screened using the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology *** Gene Card and Uni Prot databases were used to establish a database of pyogenic liver abscess *** interactive network map of drug-ingredients-target-disease was constructed using Cytoscape software(Version 3.7.2).A proteinprotein interaction network was constructed using the STRING database,and the related protein interaction relationships were *** process of gene ontology(GO)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)enrichment analyses were performed for the core ***,a clinical trial was performed to verify the reliability of the network ***:Forty active components of TNS decoction were obtained,and 61 potential targets and 11 proteins were *** involved in the treatment of pyogenic liver abscess include the phosphatidylinositide 3-kinases-protein kinase B(PI3K-AKT),advanced glycation end products-receptor for advanced glycation end products(AGE-RAGE),and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)signaling *** results of network pharmacology analysis combined with clinical trials validated that TNS decoction could alleviate the inflammatory response of pyogenic liver abscesses by decreasing interleukin 6(IL-6)***:TNS decoction has the characteristics of being multi-system,multi-component,and *** ingredients in TNS,such as quercetin,kaempferol,fisetin,andβ-sitosterol,have strong potential to be candidate drugs for treating pyogenic liver *** possible mechanism of TSN decoction includes regulating immune and inflammatory responses and reducing IL-6 production to control inflammatory development.

The primary treatment modality for tumors affecting the oral and maxillofacial region is *** treatment of tumors affecting this region is a challenge and poses relatively high surgical risk,especially in lesions affecting the deep regions of the head and the neck due to the complex anatomy of this region including structures of great importance such as the internal carotid artery,the internal jugular vein,and the cavernous sinus at the skull base,the cranial nerves and the orbital contents with the eye globes,extraocular muscles,and the lacrimal *** resection often results in devastating defects in the oral and maxillofacial region,which adversely affect patients’facial appearance and important functions such as speech,chewing,deglutition,or vision and significantly impact patients’quality of *** order to obtain a good result concerning tumor excision in the oral and cranio-maxillofacial region as well as a correct aesthetic and functional reconstruction,an adequate presurgical evaluation of the patient and accurate planning of the surgical resection and the reconstructive approach must be carefully designed.
