A preliminary survey on parasitic occurrence in indigenous climbing perch,Anabas testudineus(Bloch,1972)from West Bengal state of India

Objective:To describe the parasitic infestations of Anabas testudineus(***)collected from three different fish producing districts of West Bengal state in ***:A total number of 75 specimens of *** were collected from different floodplain areas of West Bengal,*** specimens were examined for parasites using established techniques after measuring basic morphometric ***:A total 165 individual of 20 parasites(13 ectoparasites and 7 endoparasites)belonging to 7 phyla were recorded from 64 infected *** the observed parasites,8 were protozoan including 3 ciliates;2 monogenic trematodes,2 strigeidid trematodes,1 nematode,3 crustaceans,3 myxozoans and 1 echinorhynchus acanthocephalan *** quantitative abundance of parasites were highest in gill(37%)followed by body outer layer(35%)and intestine(28%).District wise quantitative count of parasites in different investigated organ from *** revealed that North 24 Parganas is highly infected followed by West Midnapore and East *** highest prevalence(%)and mean abundance of parasitic occurrence was observed in North 24 Parganas followed by West Midnapore and East *** highest mean intensity was found at West Midnapore followed by North 24 Parganas and East ***:Especially West Bengal state of India,inland culture and capture fishery mainly rural based and operated by poor *** right kind of interventions and management practice can prevent adverse impact of diseases and assist poor farmers for sustainable production.

Geospatial Analysis of Flood Risk and Vulnerability Assessment along River Benue Basin of Kogi State

River flooding has become a widely distributed and devastating natural disaster that has caused significant damages both economically and socially in Nigeria. Although, the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) are always on time to provide flood warnings prior to flood disasters, spatial information pertaining to the areal extent vulnerable to the hazard are not usually made available. This study focuses on the application of geospatial techniques and quantitative research method for the assessment and analysis of flood risk and vulnerability assessment along the River Benue Basin of Kogi State. Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) images for 2010, 2014 and 2018 were used. These images were processed, digitized, interpolated, classified, overlaid and buffered using the ArcMap 10.3.1 GIS software to generate classified land use/cover maps, topographic map and flood physical vulnerability maps. Household questionnaires which contained structured questions were distributed and obtained to analyse the social-economic vulnerability of the study area using descriptive analysis. The study revealed that areas within 6-kilometre buffer from the River Benue are most vulnerable to flood hazard with the vulnerability decreasing towards the southern part. The two urban areas in the study area (Abejukolo and Oguma) are vulnerable to flood threat. Abejukolo is vulnerable due to high water footprint in the town and its surroundings. The factors that increase flood vulnerability of the inhabitants are low elevation, high illiteracy rate, high numbers of dependent population, poverty, low quality housing, poor land use and planning, inadequacy or absence of risk communication tools. The study recommends the development of guidelines for land use, continuous vulnerability mapping of the study area especially in the flood risk probability months (April to October), construction of dams to contain release water from the upstream, collaboration of NEMA with the

Maintenance in Marginal Oilfield Production Facilities: A Review

Natural decline in various mainstream oilfield reserves and the high investment capital in upstream exploration and project development have promoted attention towards smaller oilfields referred to as Marginal fields. This provides operators the opportunity to commence exploration and production with minimum requirements of design, installation, and operations. Although the low Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) requirement favors the start-up of marginal oilfield operations, several operators are not able to sustain the field’s operations due to the high Operational Expenditure (OPEX), particularly arising from facilities’ maintenance. The aim of this paper is to review the maintenance strategies adopted in marginal oilfields, assess their effectiveness, and provide a pointer towards efficient and viable maintenance strategies for the sustainability of marginal oilfields. The study showed that time-based preventive maintenance is predominant in the oil industry, which constitutes up to 40% of net operational expenses. In other cases, reactive maintenance is adopted, which often results in an unplanned shutdown, known to be responsible for nearly half of the overall losses of an oil facility. A paradigm shift in maintenance to Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) was explored for marginal oilfield, with a comprehensive review of various maintenance strategies, ranging from maintenance optimization strategies, Heuristics and Metaheuristics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Data Mining techniques. It was observed that the application of AI best addresses the proposed RCM for marginal oilfields. This was drawn from the recorded limitations of the other concepts from verifiable similar works, where different AI techniques and Data analytics methods have been successfully applied to aid RCM.

A substantial amount of the Indian economy depends solely on ***,on the other hand,plays a significant role in agriculture–while an adequate amount of rainfall can be considered as a blessing,if the amount is inordinate or scant,it can ruin the entire hard work of the *** this work,the rainfall dataset of the Vellore region,of Tamil Nadu,India,in the years 2021 and 2022 is forecasted using several machine learning *** engineering has been performed in this work in order to generate new features that remove all sorts of autocorrelation present in the *** removal of autocorrelation,the data could be used for performing operations on the time-series data,which otherwise could only be performed on any other regular regression *** work uses forecasting techniques like the AutoRegessive Integrated Moving Average(ARIMA)and exponential smoothening,and then the time-series data is further worked on using Long Short Term Memory(LSTM).Later,regression techniques are used by manipulating the *** work is benchmarked with several evaluation metrics on a test dataset,where XGBoost Regression technique outperformed the *** uniqueness of this work is that it forecasts the daily rainfall for the year 2021 and 2022 in Vellore *** work can be extended in the future to predict rainfall over a bigger region based on previously recorded time-series data,which can help the farmers and common people to plan accordingly and take precautionary measures.

The tropics host about 80% of the planet’s terrestrial species and over 95% of its corals. A well-known tropical forest ecosystem to provide significant global regulating services has declined at a rate of 5.5 M ha per year from 1990-2015, while another region noted an increase per year. There is evidence that tropical region ecosystem services and disservices are the least studied in the world. This study quantified peer-review papers in the tropics, then explored the neglected ecosystem type, service category, assessment mode, applied techniques and choice dependence between ecosystem type, service category, assessment mode and applied techniques. The Google Scholar and Web of Science database were used to collect all ES & ED studies available online from 1960 to December 2017. This review covered 102 countries with 578 articles. The study showed dramatic articles increase in the last three years as more than 50% of articles were published after the year of 2014. The top countries in high articles were Mexico (n = 53), India (n = 43), and Brazil (n = 35). The ES & ED assessment tools/techniques are barely applied in tropics as only social based techniques such as interviews and questionnaire take over 45%, while biophysical tools like remote sensing and GIS appeared only in 20%, InVEST only in 3% while the rest tools are less than 1% even none such as ARIES model. Urban and marine ecosystem types, disservices category and trade-off assessment mode were the least studied. The review concluded that policy analysis ES & ED studies do not reflect the trade-offs and synergy analysis between different services which hinder the development of pragmatic policy and decisions toward ES sustainable management in the tropics. The rampant urbanization in the tropics is subjected to destroy existing ES. Thus, this review highly suggested a high concern of urbanization ecosystem. Anorectal malignant melanoma is a very rare but lethal disease. Patients with anorectal malignant melanoma commonly complain for changes in bowel habits and rectal bleeding. Therefore, anorectal malignant melanoma is often misdiagnosed as hemorrhoids, polyp or rectal cancer. Surgery is the mainstay of treatment for patients with anorectal malignant melanoma. However, whether abdominoperineal resection or wide local excision is the most appropriate surgical approach is still a controversial issue. Recently, with the great development of laparoscopic techniques, more and more operations can be performed by laparoscopic techniques. However, laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection for management of anorectal malignant melanoma has been rarely reported. In this study, we reported 4 patients with anorectal malignant melanoma underwent laparoscopic abdominoperineal resection. The outcomes of these patients were relatively good during a long time follow-up. Meanwhile, we reviewed the relevant studies with particular focus surgical treatment.

The major environmental hazard in this pandemic is the unhygienic dis-posal of medical *** wastage is not properly managed it will become a hazard to the environment and *** medical wastage is a major issue in the city,municipalities in the aspects of the environment,and *** efﬁcient supply chain with edge computing technology is used in managing medical *** supply chain operations include processing of waste collec-tion,transportation,and disposal of *** research works have been applied to improve the management of *** main issues in the existing techniques are ineffective and expensive and centralized edge computing which leads to failure in providing security,trustworthiness,and *** over-come these issues,in this paper we implement an efﬁcient Naive Bayes classiﬁer algorithm and Q-Learning algorithm in decentralized edge computing technology with a binary bat optimization algorithm(NBQ-BBOA).This proposed work is used to track,detect,and manage medical *** minimize the transferring cost of medical wastage from various nodes,the Q-Learning algorithm is *** accuracy obtained for the Naïve Bayes algorithm is 88%,the Q-Learning algo-rithm is 82%and NBQ-BBOA is 98%.The error rate of Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and Mean Error(MAE)for the proposed work NBQ-BBOA are 0.012 and 0.045.
