Developing three-dimensional groundwater flow modeling for the Erbil Basin using Groundwater Modeling System (GMS)

This study presents the development of a comprehensive three-dimensional groundwater flow model for the Erbil Basin utilizing the Groundwater Modeling System(GMS).The Erbil Basin,situated in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq,is a vital water resource area facing increasing water demands and environ-mental *** three-dimensional nature of the groundwater flow system is crucial for accurately understanding and managing water resources in the *** modeling process involved data collection,geological and hydrogeological characterization,conceptual model development,and numerical simulation using GMS software MODFLOW 2000 *** parameters such as hydraulic conductivity,recharge rates,and boundary conditions were integrated into the model to represent the complex hydrogeo-logical conditions of the *** calibration was performed by comparing simulated groundwater levels with observed data from monitoring wells across the basin,using the automatic calibration method of automated Parameter Estimation(PEST).Pilot points were applied to adjust the hydraulic conductivity in the model area *** analysis was conducted to assess the influence of key parameters on model predictions and to identify areas of *** developed three-dimensional groundwater flow model provides valuable insights into the dynamics of groundwater flow,recharge-discharge mechanisms,and potential impacts of future scenarios such as climate change and water resource management *** serves as a useful tool for decision-makers,water resource managers,and researchers to evaluate differ-ent management scenarios and formulate sustainable groundwater management policies for the Erbil *** conclusion,this study demonstrates the effectiveness of using GMS for developing three-dimensional groundwater flow models in complex hydrogeological settings like the Erbil Basin,contributing to improved understanding and management of groundwater resources in the

目的旨在翻译Chase护理管理者胜任力测评工具(the Chase Nurse Manager Competency Instrument,CNMCI)为意大利语,并对其进行信度和效度检验。方法对英文版CNMCI进行翻译,并通过横断面研究验证其信效度。采用预翻译(建立等效)、初始翻译、预测试、审查和管理5个步骤的问卷翻译方法,将英文版工具翻译为意大利语版。于2022年8月到2023年6月,选取意大利3个地区31所医疗机构349名护理管理者进行调查。采用内容效度、结构效度评估工具的效度;采用Cronbach'sα系数、重测信度评估工具的信度。结果意大利语版CNMCI,包括“知识理解”和“实施和/或使用能力”两个分量表,每个分量表包括53个条目。工具的条目内容效度指数(I-CVI)为0.83~1.00,两个分量表的内容效度指数(S-CVI)均为0.97。经验证性因子分析显示该工具各项拟合指数表现良好。工具中“知识理解”分量表的Cronbach'sα系数为0.978,“实施和/或使用能力”分量表的Cronbach'sα系数为0.976。各个维度之间的相关系数为0.494~0.908重测信度为0.820,表明工具的一致性较好。结论意大利语版CNMCI在测量护理管理者胜任力方面显示出良好的信度和效度,并支持该工具的多维度结构。此外,研究结果支持了这些因素的层次性质,进一步支持了该工具的有效性。

Utilization of RNA sequencing to investigate olfactory dysfunction in chronic rhinosinusitis without nasal polyps:A pilot study

Stress and Springback Analyses of API X70 Pipeline Steel Under 3-Roller Bending via Finite Element Method

3-Roller bending is a widely applied manufacturing process, particularly in structural steel pipe ***, due to the difficulty and high cost of measuring stress distribution inside sheet material via traditional method,internal stress/strain response during forming is largely unexplored. The focuses of this study are two：（1） to map the radii of curvature as well as the stress inside the work piece during forming by utilizing the meshing mechanism of finite element method, and（2） to further provide some numeric guidelines for the configuration of the rolling system in order to improve production efficiency and product quality. The results of this study indicate that：（1） it is crucial to properly choose forming parameter in order to produce product with desired radii;（2） much like a gradual springback process, the radii of curvature gradually increase from the top roller to the exit-side bottom roller;（3） under the assumptions made in this study, to produce pipes with a specified diameter with varying configurations of the 3-roller system will not significantly change the final residual stress; and（4） finally, shifting of the neutral axis up to 2.0% of the thickness toward the compressing side during the forming process is observed.

Reduced combustion time model for methane in gas turbine flow fields

Computational fluid dynamics （CFD） modeling of the complex processes that occur within the burner of a gas turbine engine has become a critical step in the design process. However, due to computer limitations, it is very difficult to completely couple the fluid mechanics solver with the full combustion chemistry. Therefore, simplified chemistry models are required, and the topic of this research was to provide reduced chemistry models for CH4/O2 gas turbine flow fields to be integrated into CFD codes for the simulation of flow fields of natural gas-fueled burners. The reduction procedure for the CH4/O2 model utilized a response modeling technique wherein the full mechanism was solved over a range of temperatures, pressures, and mixture ratios to establish the response of a particular variable, namely the chemical reaction time. The conditions covered were between 1000 and 2500 K for temperature, 0.1 and 2 for equivalence ratio in air, and 0.1 and 50 atm for pressure. The kinetic time models in the form of ignition time correlations are given in Arrhenius-type formulas as functions of equivalence ratio, temperature, and pressure; or fuel-to-air ratio, temperature, and pressure. A single ignition time model was obtained for the entire range of conditions, and separate models for the low-temperature and high-temperature regions as well as for fuel-lean and rich cases were also derived. Predictions using the reduced model were verified using results from the full mechanism and empirical correlations from experiments. The models are intended for （but not limited to） use in CFD codes for flow field simulations of gas turbine combustors in which initial conditions and degree of mixedness of the fuel and air are key factors in achieving stable and robust combustion processes and acceptable emission levels. What make differences in the outcome of adjuvant treatments for resected gastric cancer?

After a long history of Dark Age of adjuvant chemotherapy for gastric cancer, definite evidences of survival benefit from adjuvant treatment have been reported since 2000 s. These survival benefits are likely attributed to something new approach different from pervious studies. In 2001, South West Oncology Group INT0116 trial yielded survival benefit in curatively resected gastric cancer patients with postoperative chemoradiotherapy [5-fluorouracil(5-FU) + Leucovorin + radiotherapy], followed by positive result by MAGIC Trial, employing perioperative(pre- and postoperative chemotherapy with Epirubicin, cisplatin(CDDP), 5-fluorouracil(ECF) regimen in patients with curative resection. A novel drug [S1: ACTS-GC(Adjuvant chemotherapy trial of TS-1 for gastric cancer) in 2007], or new drug combination chemotherapys [CDDP + 5-FU: FNCLCC/FFCD(Federation Nationale des Centres de Lutte contre le cancer/Federation Francophone de Cancerologie Digestive) in 2011, Capecitabine + Oxaliplatin: CLASSIC in 2012] also produced positive results in terms of improved prognosis. Neoadjuvant or perioperative chemotherapy, novel anti-cancer drugs, and chemoradiotherapy might be the key words to develop further improvement in the adjuvant treatment of resectable gastric cancer. Moreover, it is not new but still true to stress the importance of D2 surgery as the baseline treatment in order to minimize the amount of residual tumor after surgery.

Composition Changes and Movements in Mixed-Species Groups of Algae Grazing Fish in Jamaica and Grand Cayman Island. Part II

Although Caribbean mixed-species herbivorous fish groups are an important component to the reef community by helping to crop algae that often overgrow and kill corals, little is known of how they organize their foraging groups. In spite of a highly flexible membership, the basic structure of these groups consists of a “core species,” that leads the group and often is either the striped parrotfish (Scarus iserti) or the ocean surgeon (Acanthurus tractus). These species lead their groups to open areas where they feed largely on low profile turf algae. Other members prefer macro algae and are termed “associate species,” of which the two common species we studied were the stoplight parrotfish (Sparisoma viride) and the redband parrotfish (Sparisoma aurofrenatum). In spite of the large difference in group sizes between Jamaica and Grand Cayman Islands, the relationships between movement patterns and compositional changes were largely consistent. There was no support for the hypothesis that these dramatic and continuous group changes were related to foraging success. Instead, we speculated that these group changes perhaps were designed to maintain cohesion among a membership that was spread over a wide area. We also examined if associates species may be more than just passive followers of core species but rather instigated the attracting or the building of core groups. Both associate species do attract striped parrotfish in open areas and thus appear active in initiating mixed-species groups. Finally, given that associate species seem to derive little foraging benefit from following core species, we tested the hypothesis that associate species joined core groups to gain protection against predators. Associate species do not selectively join the larger groups of striped parrotfish but appear to join core species randomly and the groups they joined resembled the wide assortment of core groups available in the area.
