Gradient‑Layered MXene/Hollow Lignin Nanospheres Architecture Design for Flexible and Stretchable Supercapacitors

With the rapid development of flexible wearable electronics,the demand for stretchable energy storage devices has *** this work,a novel gradient-layered architecture was design based on single-pore hollow lignin nanospheres(HLNPs)-intercalated two-dimensional transition metal carbide(Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x) MXene)for fabricating highly stretchable and durable *** depositing and inserting HLNPs in the MXene layers with a bottom-up decreasing gradient,a multilayered porous MXene structure with smooth ion channels was constructed by reducing the overstacking of MXene ***,the micro-chamber architecture of thin-walled lignin nanospheres effectively extended the contact area between lignin and MXene to improve ion and electron accessibility,thus better utilizing the pseudocapacitive property of *** these strategies effectively enhanced the capacitive performance of the *** addition,HLNPs,which acted as a protective phase for MXene layer,enhanced mechanical properties of the wrinkled stretchable electrodes by releasing stress through slip and deformation during the stretch-release cycling and greatly improved the structural integrity and capacitive stability of the *** electrodes and symmetric flexible all-solid-state supercapacitors capable of enduring 600%uniaxial tensile strain were developed with high specific capacitances of 1273 mF cm^(−2)(241 F g^(−1))and 514 mF cm^(−2)(95 F g^(−1)),***,their capacitances were well preserved after 1000 times of 600%stretch-release *** study showcased new possibilities of incorporating biobased lignin nanospheres in energy storage devices to fabricate stretchable devices leveraging synergies among various two-dimensional nanomaterials.

AlGaN/GaN heterostructure field transistor for label-free detection of DNA hybridization

This paper demonstrates electrical detection of single strand deoxyribonucleic acid (ssDNA) conjugation by AlGaN/GaN hetero-structure field effect transistor (HFET) biological sensors. The probe ssDNA molecules are modified by thiol groups. The immobilization of probe molecules is achieved by S-Au bonding on a thin layer of gold film in the sensing area. The immobilization and hybridization process are firstly implemented on Si surfaces and checked by fluorescent and atomic force microscopy (AFM) imaging. The hybridization process is monitored on AlGaN/GaN HFETs. Time-dependent current change is observed when a matched ssDNA solution is applied, while no response is observed for a mismatched ssDNA sequence. The DNA hybridization process is dominated by the conjugation between matched ssDNA sequences in the first few tens of seconds. After that, the hybridization process is dominated by mass transfer processes and saturation of the immobilized probe ssDNA molecules.

EXAFS investigation and luminescent properties of nanosized Tb:Lu_2O_3 phosphors

Nanosized terbium doped Lu2O3 phosphors were synthesized via a modified co-precipitation processing. The as-prepared Tb:Lu2O3 phosphors was consisted of well crystallized nanosized sphere particles with a diameter of about 30 nm. Local structure of Tb ions in Lu2O3 lattice was investigated by an analytical approach based on Fourier transformation of the extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) data. X-ray near edge structure (XANES) spectra suggested that all Tb ions doped were tervalence. EXAFS results indicated that Tb ions have entered the Lu2O3 cubic lattice by means of solid solution. The coordination number and first shell Tb-O distance dropped with the increasing of Tb concentration. Emission spectra of the phosphors was shown to be typical for Tb3+ with main components at 542, 550 and 490 nm, derived from irradiative relaxation of 5D4 level. The emission intensity decreased severely with the increasing of Tb concentration from 1 mol.% to 15 mol.%, suggesting a significant concentration quenching above 1 mol.% Tb. The reduction of emission intensity was interpreted by higher distortion derived relaxation among the surface state resident Tb3+ ions.

Lower temperature synthesis of cerium-doped polycrystalline lutetium pyrosilicate powders by a novel sol-gel processing

A novel sol-gel processing was developed to synthesize polycrystalline cerium-doped lutetium pyrosilicate （Lu2Si2O7Ce, LPS ：Ce） powders under low temperature. It was found that the addition of propylene oxide （PPO） could promote the formation of Lu-O-Si bonds in precursor, which was beneficial to the formation of LPS phase. X-ray diffraction （XRD） patterns indicated that the single-phased LPS powder was well crystallized at 1050℃. Microstructure observation demonstrated that the synthetic LPS powder was composed of ellipsoidal grains with the mean size of 40 nm. The luminescent properties were characterized by photoluminescence （PL）, X-ray excited luminescence （XEL） and vacuum ultraviolet （VUV） spectroscopy at room temperature. The synthetic LPS：Ce powder emitted a broad emission spectrum centered at about 380 nm, which should be ascribed to the 5d→4f transition of Ce3＋. Decay time of the synthetic LPS：Ce powder was measured to be only 32 ns.

ZnO-PCBM bilayers as electron transport layers in low-temperature processed perovskite solar cells

We investigate an electron transport bilayer fabricated at 〈110℃ to form all low-temperature processed, thermally stable, efficient perovskite solar cells with negligible hysteresis. The components of the bilayer create a symbiosis that results in improved devices compared with either of the components being used in isolation. A sol-gel derived ZnO layer facilitates improved energy level alignment and enhanced charge carrier extraction and a [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester （PCBM） layer to reduce hysteresis and enhance perovskite thermal stability. The creation of a bilayer structure allows materials that are inherently unsuitable to be in contact with the perovskite active layer to be used in efficient devices through simple surface modification strategies.

Hydrothermal synthesis of Ce: Lu_(2)SiO_(5) scintillator powders

The synthesis of cerium-doped lutetium oxyorthosilicate(LSO)polycrystalline powders was investigated by a hydrothermal *** precursor was obtained by the hydrothermal reaction of Lu(NO_(3))_(3)with Na_(2)SiO_(3)at 200℃for 10 h by using urea as precipitator,fol-lowed by a calcination uader proper *** results of XRD indicated that the precursor was crystallized into A-type LSO phase at 1000℃,and transfetrred to B-type LSO phase when temperature was raised above 1050℃.After being heated at 1250℃for 2 h,single phase of B-type LSO powder was synthesized with homogeneous distribution of particle size ranging from 200 to 300 *** photolumi-nescence spectrum of as-synthesized LSO:Ce powders showed a typical broad emission peak centered at 404 nm,corresponding to the 5d^(1)-4f transition of Ce^(3+).

Application of thermal stress model to paint removal by Q-switched Nd:YAG laser

In this paper, we demonstrate that thermal stress is the main mechanism in the process of paint removal by Q-switched Nd：YAG laser （λ = 1064 nm, τ = 10 ns）. A theoretical model ofpaint removal by short-pulse laser is established from the perspective of thermal stress. Thermal stress is generated by thermal expansion, and the temperatures of different samples are calculated according to the one-dimensional （1D） heat conduction equation. The theoretical cleaning threshold can be obtained by comparing thermal stress with the adhesion of paint, and the theoretical damage threshold is obtained by calculating the temperature. Moreover, the theoretical calculations are verified by experimental results. It is shown that the thermal stress model of the laser cleaning is very useful to choose the appropriate laser fluence in the practical applications of paint removal by Q-switched Nd： YAG laser because our model can validly balance the efficiency of laser cleaning and the safety of the substrate.

Effect of Zn addition in Sn-rich alloys on interfacial reaction with Au foils

To restrain the formation of AuSnx intermetallic components (IMCs) in solder joints, Zn was added into Sn-rich solders. The solder joints were fabricated by a laser reflow soldering method, and then they were aged at 125 ℃. The results show that the total thickness of AuSnx IMCs at the interface of pure Sn solder and Au foils reaches about 54 μm under the condition of 600 h aging. In Sn-1.5Zn solder joints, however, formation of AuSn4 IMCs is restrained greatly. As the content of Zn in the solder is increased to 3.5%(mass fraction), no AuSn4 IMC is observed at the interface. Au-Zn phases form beside AuSn2 and AuSn IMCs layers. As for Sn-9.0Zn solder joints, Au-Zn and Au-Zn-Sn phases and few AuSnx IMCs form at the interface. Moreover, total thickness of the phases and IMCs is far less than that of AuSnx IMCs in the pure Sn solder joints.

Internal energy transfer phenomenon and light-emission properties of γ-LiAlO_2 phosphor doped with Mn^(2+)

γ-LiAlO2 phosphor was synthesized using the cellulose-citric acid sol-gel method, and its light emission and energy transfer properties were investigated. Excitation and emission spectrum analysis revealed a decrease in intensity of the spectrum as the amount of Mn2＋ doping increased. Blasse＇s equation determined the maximum distance for energy transfer between Mn2＋ ions as 4.3142 nm. Dexter＇s theory verifies that the mechanism of energy transfer between Mn2＋ ions conforms to an electric dipole and electric quadrupole interaction.
