Hybrid magnetic resonance and optoacoustic tomography(MROT) for preclinical neuroimaging

Multi-modal imaging is essential for advancing our understanding of brain function and unraveling pathophysiological processes underlying neurological and psychiatric *** resonance(MR)and optoacoustic(OA)imaging have been shown to provide highly complementary contrasts and capabilities for preclinical *** integration between these modalities can thus offer unprecedented capabilities for studying the rodent brain in *** report on a hybrid magnetic resonance and optoacoustic tomography(MROT)system for concurrent noninvasive structural and functional imaging of the mouse *** OA tomography was designed as an insert into a high-field MR scanner by integrating a customized MR-compatible spherical transducer array,an illumination module,and a dedicated radiofrequency coil.A tailored data processing pipeline has been developed to mitigate signal crosstalk and accurately register image volumes acquired with T1-weighted,angiography,and blood oxygenation level-dependent(BOLD)sequences onto the corresponding vascular and oxygenation data recorded with the OA *** demonstrate the concurrent acquisition of dual-mode anatomical and angiographic brain images with the scanner,as well as real-time functional readings of multiple hemodynamic parameters from animals subjected to oxygenation *** approach combines the functional and molecular imaging advantages of OA with the superb soft-tissue contrast of MR,further providing an excellent platform for cross-validation of functional readings by the two modalities.

Antiferroelectric materials are promising candidates for energy-storage applications due to their double hysteresis loops,which can deliver high power *** the antiferroelectric materials,AgNbO_(3)is proved attractive due to its environmental-friendliness and high potential for achieving excellent energy storage ***,the recoverable energy storage density of AgNbO_(3)ceramics is limited by their relatively low breakdown ***,the breakdown strength of the pure AgNbO_(3)ceramics prepared using the tape casting method is enhanced to 307 kV·cm^(-1),which is,to the best of our knowledge,among the highest values reported for pure AgNbO-3bulk *** high breakdown strength may be due to its dense microstructure and good crystallinity obtained by the tape casting method and the optimized sintering *** to its enhanced breakdown strength,AgNbO_(3)ceramics show high recoverable energy storage density of 2.8 J·cm^(-3).These results have led to the development of lead-free antiferroelectric materials and devices with high energy storage density.

Numerical evaluation of strength and deformability of fractured rocks

Knowledge of the strength and deformability of fractured rocks is important for design, construction and stability evaluation of slopes, foundations and underground excavations in civil and mining engineering. However, laboratory tests of intact rock samples cannot provide information about the strength and deformation behaviors of fractured rock masses that include many fractures of varying sizes, orientations and locations. On the other hand, large-scale in situ tests of fractured rock masses are economically costly and often not practical in reality at present. Therefore, numerical modeling becomes necessary. Numerical predicting using discrete element methods(DEM) is a suitable approach for such modeling because of their advantages of explicit representations of both fractures system geometry and their constitutive behaviors of fractures, besides that of intact rock matrix. In this study, to generically determine the compressive strength of fractured rock masses, a series of numerical experiments were performed on two-dimensional discrete fracture network models based on the realistic geometrical and mechanical data of fracture systems from feld mapping. We used the UDEC code and a numerical servo-controlled program for controlling the progressive compressive loading process to avoid sudden violent failure of the models. The two loading conditions applied are similar to the standard laboratory testing for intact rock samples in order to check possible differences caused by such loading conditions. Numerical results show that the strength of fractured rocks increases with the increasing confning pressure, and that deformation behavior of fractured rocks follows elasto-plastic model with a trend of strain hardening. The stresses and strains obtained from these numerical experiments were used to ft the well-known Mohr-Coulomb(MC) and Hoek-Brown(H-B) failure criteria, represented by equivalent material properties defning these two criteria. Cerebral perfusion computed tomography(PCT)is an important imaging modality for evaluating cerebrovascular diseases and stroke *** widespread public concern about the potential cancer risks and health hazards associated with cumulative radiation exposure in PCT imaging,considerable research has been conducted to reduce the radiation dose in X-ray-based brain perfusion *** the dose of X-rays causes severe noise and artifacts in PCT *** solve this problem,we propose a deep learning method called *** exceptional characteristics of non-subsampled contourlet transform(NSCT)and the Sobel filter are introduced into *** decomposes the convolved features into high-and low-frequency *** decomposed high-frequency component retains image edges,contrast imaging traces,and noise,whereas the low-frequency component retains the main image *** Sobel filter extracts the contours of the original image and the imaging traces caused by the contrast agent *** extracted information is added to NCS-Unet to improve its performance in noise reduction and artifact *** and quantitative analyses demonstrated that the proposed NCS-Unet can improve the quality of low-dose cone-beam CT perfusion reconstruction images and the accuracy of perfusion parameter calculations.

Preparation and characterization of octenyl succinic anhydride nano starch from tiger nut meals

Tiger nut(Cyperus esculentus L.)is an ideal raw material for oil extraction,but starch-rich tiger nut meal,a by-product of oil extraction,has not been fully *** this,starch was isolated from tiger nut meal,and then starch nanoparticles were prepared by gelatinization,ultrasonication and nanoprecipitation under different *** preparation parameters were optimized by measuring the particle size with dynamic light scattering,and the physicochemical properties of native starch and nano starch were *** results showed that,compared to native starch,starch nanoparticle(nano starch)has a higher amylose content(39.05%),solubility(56.13%),and swelling power(58.01%).Furthermore,native starch and nano starch were esterified with octenyl succinic anhydride(OSA),respectively,conferring amphiphilic *** effects of OSA modification on the resistant starch content,thermal properties,and microstructure of starches were *** resistant starch content of tiger nut native starch increased by 10.81%after OSA modification,while the resistant starch content of OSA nano starch increased to 37.76%.Compared to native starch,the gelatinization temperature of OSA nano starch decreased by 2.7℃ and nano starch decreased by 5.68℃.OSA modified nano starch showed a unique microstructure,such as a slender fiber structure and a regular oblate *** hydrophobic OSA groups aggregated to form hydrophobic cavities with a hydrophilic surface in the aqueous *** findings presented in this investigation provide a better understanding of the design and development of OSA nano starch and provide valuable guidance to further enhance the added value of tiger nuts and future applications in the food industry.

Stability assessment of the freeway over the gob of coalmine

The freeway passes over the gob area of the Zaibo coalmine or its neighbor- hood when it is built. It is a noticeable problem that the construction of freeway and the underground coal mining interact, especially the deformation and destruction of the gob area of the coalmine influence the long-term stability of the freeway. In the paper, based on the actual data of the exploration about the gob area of Zaibo coalmine and the built project of the freeway,the variety rule of the coal beds below the freeway was studied by using of FEM during the process of coal mining. The statuses of the stresses and strains,the varieties of the plastic area were simulated in the whole rock mass. The characters of stresses and deformation of the gob area of the coalmine were analyzed and evaluated after the freeway built. The long-term stability of the gob area was pre- dicted. The deformation of the gob area under the freeway has not been finished, and the relative measures must be taken.

In the digital era,electronic medical record(EMR)has been a major way for hospitals to store patients’medical *** traditional centralized medical system and semi-trusted cloud storage are difficult to achieve dynamic balance between privacy protection and data *** storage capacity of blockchain is limited and single blockchain schemes have poor scalability and low *** address these issues,we propose a secure and efficient medical data storage and sharing scheme based on double *** our scheme,we encrypt the original EMR and store it in the *** storage blockchain stores the index of the complete EMR,and the shared blockchain stores the index of the shared part of the *** with different attributes can make requests to different blockchains to share different parts according to their own *** experiments,it was found that cloud storage combined with blockchain not only solved the problem of limited storage capacity of blockchain,but also greatly reduced the risk of leakage of the original *** Extraction Signature(CES)combined with the double blockchain technology realized the separation of the privacy part and the shared part of the original *** symmetric encryption technology combined with Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption(CP–ABE)not only ensures the safe storage of data in the cloud,but also achieves the consistency and convenience of data update,avoiding redundant backup of *** analysis and performance analysis verified the feasibility and effectiveness of our scheme.
