Palmitic acid reduces the methylation of the FOXO1 promoter to suppress the development of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma via modulating the miR-429/DNMT3A axis

Chinese medicine Combined with Adjuvant Chemotherapy for Improving Myelosuppression in Colorectal Cancer Patients:A Systematic Review and Network Meta-Analysis

Objective To assess the effectiveness of Chinese herbal medicine(CHM)combined with adjuvant chemotherapy on myelosuppression for colorectal cancer(CRC)patients using network meta-analysis(NMA).Methods Literature searches in both international(PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,and Cochrane Library)and Chinese(China Science and Technology Journal Database,Wanfang Data,China National Knowledge Infrastructure)databases for relevant randomized controlled trials(RCTs)were conducted from inception until October 10,*** included RCTs of patients who received CHM combined with chemotherapy,including FOLFOX,XELOX,FOLFIRI,and other relevant regimens in the CHM treatment *** outcomes included the incidence of myelosuppression,leukopenia,hemoglobin reduction,and *** reviewers independently screened the databases,extracted the data,and assessed the risk of bias and credibility of *** 5.4.1 software and STATA 14.0 were used to perform the *** A total of 31 RCTs were included,published from 2008 to 2021 in *** these,2,314 participants comparing the following 9 CHMs were identified:Shengbai Recipe(SBR),Bazhen Decoction(BZD),Jianpi Jiedu Recipe(JJR),Jianpi Recipe(JR),Compound Cantharis Capsule(CCC),Zaofan Pill(ZFP),Guilu Erxian Gel(GL),Buzhong Tiaogan Decoction(BZ),and Qiamagu Capsule(QM).The results of NMA found an indirect *** on the surface under the cumulative ranking curve(SUCRA),the ZFP+chemotherapy group had the lowest incidence of myelosuppression,with an odds ratio(OR)of 0.08[95%confidence interval(CI):0.01,0.76],whereas the GL+chemotherapy group had the lowest incidence of leukopenia,hemoglobin reduction,and thrombocytopenia,with an OR of 5.25(95%CI:2.41,11.43),4.66(95%CI:2.23,9.72),and 0.27(95%CI:0.13,0.54),***,BZD+chemotherapy could alleviate leukopenia,hemoglobin reduction,and thrombocytopenia(P<0.01).Pairwise comparison showed that there was no difference in the efficacy among the 8 CHMs+c

Predictive value of positive lymph node ratio in patients with locally advanced gastric remnant cancer

BACKGROUND Traditional lymph node stage(N stage)has limitations in advanced gastric remnant cancer(GRC)patients;therefore,establishing a new predictive stage is *** To explore the predictive value of positive lymph node ratio(LNR)according to clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis of locally advanced *** Seventy-four patients who underwent radical gastrectomy and lymphadenectomy for locally advanced GRC were retrospectively *** relationship between LNR and clinicopathological characteristics was *** survival analysis was performed using Kaplan-Meier survival curves and Cox regression *** Number of metastatic LNs,tumor diameter,depth of tumor invasion,Borrmann type,serum tumor biomarkers,and tumor-node-metastasis(TNM)stage were correlated with LNR stage and N *** analysis revealed that the factors affecting survival included tumor diameter,anemia,serum tumor biomarkers,vascular or neural invasion,combined resection,LNR stage,N stage,and TNM stage(all P<0.05).The median survival time for those with LNR0,LNR1,LNR2 and LNR3 stage were 61,31,23 and 17 mo,respectively,and the differences were significant(P=0.000).Anemia,tumor biomarkers and LNR stage were independent prognostic factors for survival in multivariable analysis(all P<0.05).CONCLUSION The new LNR stage is uniquely based on number of metastatic LNs,with significant prognostic value for locally advanced GRC,and could better differentiate overall survival,compared with N stage.

Hemostatic mechanism of Jianpi Yiqi Shexue decoction(健脾益气摄血方) in treatment of immune thrombocytopenia

OBJECTIVE: To explore the early hemostatic mechanism of Jianpi Yiqi Shexue decoction(健脾益气摄血方, JYSD) in treating immune thrombocytopathy(ITP), based on the functional homeostasis of brain-intestine axis and blood neurotransmitter METHODS: Non-drug treatment cases: Healthy volunteers were selected as normal control group and compared with patients with dysfunctional uterine bleeding, gastrointestinal tumors with bleeding and ITP, to detect the changes of blood 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT), β-endorphin(β-EP), vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP) and compare the changes of blood neurotransmitters in patients with different disease symptoms. Drug treatment cases: According to the randomized controlled multicenter clinical trial, 272 ITP patients were randomly divided into three groups: treatment group(JYSD) combined group(JYSD + Prednisone) control group(Prednisone). The changes of blood neurotransmitter(5-HT, β-EP, VIP) before and after treatment were detected on the basis of peripheral blood platelet(PLT) and grade score. RESULTS: Non-drug treatment cases: compared with the normal control group, the 5-HT level was higher, and the VIP and β-EP levels were both lower in the ITP group(P < 0.001), and the 5-HT, VIP and β-EP levels in the Gastrointestinal tumors with bleeding group were also lower compared with the normal control group(P < 0.05, 0.001). Drug treatment cases: The PLT grading scores of the combination group and the control group after treatment were lower than that before treatment(P < 0.05, 0.001). The PLT grading score of the 3 groups were compared in pairs after treatment: the combination group was the lowest among the 3 groups, which was better than the treatment group, but no better than the control group(vs the treatment group, P = 0.005, vs the control group, P = 0.709). Neiguan(PC6) acupoint stimulation for preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting: a cost-effective supplement in guideline-inconsistent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting prophylaxis subgroup

OBJECTIVE: To assess the efficacy and safety of Neiguan(PC6) acupoint acustimulation in preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting(CINV),especially for patients with guideline-inconsistent CINV prophylaxis(GICP) due to personal reasons METHODS: From January 2021 to December 2021, 373 patients suffered from solid malignancy were recruited according to the inclusion criteria. Complete response(no emesis and no rescue medication use) rate during the overall phase(0-120 h of each chemo-cycle) was the primary assessment of CINV control. The Functional Living Index-Emesis(FLIE) questionnaire was investigated among these patients as a secondary 'quality of life' objective to assess the impact of CINV on patients' daily life by recording score of nausea and vomiting. RESULTS: With acustimulation of Neiguan(PC6) acupuncture point through a portable, noninvasive and user-friendly device, in terms of complete response rate and scores in nausea/vomiting by FLIE questionnaire, patients achieve a better outcome in highly emetogenic chemotherapy(HEC) induced CINV, especially GICP subgroup. Meanwhile, analysis also demonstrated this tendency existed in other patients with HEC/GCCP(guideline consistent CINV prophylaxis) and moderate emetogenic chemotherapy, although the difference was not significant. CONCLUSION: Considering advantages of Neiguan(PC6) acustimulation such as noninvasive, covered by medical insurance and few side effects, we believe it would be an ideal auxiliary tool in CINV control, especially in patients who receive highly emetogenic chemoprotocol and are reluctant to GCCP for economic reasons.

Therapeutic effect of Wendan Decoction combined with mosapride on gastroesophageal reflux disease after esophageal cancer surgery
