The power generalized Weibull distribution has been proposed recently by[24]as an alternative to the gamma,Weibull and the exponentiated Weibull *** power generalized Weibull family is suitable for modeling data that indicate nonmonotone hazard rates and can be used in survival analysis and reliability *** andﬂexibility of the family are illustrated by reanalyzing Efron’s data pertaining to a head-and-neck cancer clinical *** data involve censoring and indicate unimodal hazard *** this distribution,some recurrence relations are established for the single and product moments of upper record ***,using these relations,we have obtained means,variances and covariances of upper record values from samples of sizes up to 10 for various values of the parameters and present them inﬁ*** data set is analyzed to illustrate theﬂexibility and importance of the model.

Based on forbidden patterns in symbolic dynamics, symbolic subsequences are classified and relations between forbidden patterns, correlation dimensions and complexity measures are studied. A complexity measure approach is proposed in order to separate deterministic （usually chaotic） series from random ones and measure the complexities of different dynamic systems. The complexity is related to the correlation dimensions, and the algorithm is simple and suitable for time series with noise. In the paper, the complexity measure method is used to study dynamic systems of the Logistic map and the Henon map with multi-parameters.

Objective:To compare the characteristics of suspected measles cases at the health facilities and to determine the representativeness of the ***:We visited 25 hospitals in the Aniocha Local Government Area(LGA) of Delta State,Nigeria,from which information on reportable diseases was *** particular,the suspected measles cases in their registries between January 1,2007,and June 30,2008,were *** compared the characteristics,including age,sex,location,and month of reporting,of the suspected cases with the LGA surveillance ***:In the LGA records,10%cases involved individuals older than 14 years, compared with 20%in the same age group in the health facility *** on geographic location,53%of the measles cases among the hospital records came from a single location,in contrast to only 30%of the cases among the LGA *** analysis considering time revealed that 30%of the cases in the LGA records occurred in August 2007,whereas 20%of hospital cases were reported in February and May 2008 ***:The two record types differed considerably in all of the characteristics used in this comparison.

In many medical studies,the prevalence of interval censored data is increasing due to periodic monitoring of the progression status of a *** nonparametric regression model,when the response variable is subjected to interval-censoring,the regression function could not be estimated by traditional methods *** the censored data,we construct a new response variable which has the same conditional expectation as the original *** on the new variable,we get a nearest neighbor estimator of the regression *** is established that the estimator has strong consistency and asymptotic *** relevant simulation reports are given.

Censored regression("Tobit") model is a special case of limited dependent variable regression model, and plays an important role in econometrics. Based on this model, all kinds of methods for variable or group variable selection have been developed and the corresponding shrinkage parameter estimates are widely studied. However, asymptotic distributions of the shrinkage estimates involve unknown nuisance parameters,such as density function of error term. To avoid estimating nuisance parameters, this paper presents a randomly weighting method to approximate to the asymptotic distribution of the shrinkage estimate. A computation procedure of random approximation is provided and asymptotic properties of the randomly weighting estimates are also obtained. The proposed methods are evaluated with extensively numerical studies and a women labor supply example.

This paper establishes the Razumikhin-type theorem on stability for neutral stochastic functional differential equations with unbounded delay. To overcome difficulties from unbounded delay, we develop several different techniques to investigate stability. To show our idea clearly, we examine neutral stochastic delay differential equations with unbounded delay and linear neutral stochastic Volterra unbounded-delay-integro-differential equations.

It has been known that determining the exact value of vertex distinguishing edge index X ＇8（G） of a graph G is difficult, even for simple classes of graphs such as paths, cycles, bipartite complete graphs, complete, graphs, and graphs with maximum degree 2. Let rid（G） denote the number of vertices of degree d in G, and let X＇es（G） be the equitable vertex distinguishing edge index of G. We show that a tree T holds nl （T） ≤ X ＇s （T） ≤ n1 （T）＋ 1 and X＇s（T） = X＇es（T） if T satisfies one of the following conditions （i） n2（T） ≤△（T） or （ii） there exists a constant c with respect to 0 〈 c 〈 1 such that n2（T） △ cn1（T） and ∑3 ≤d≤△（T）nd（T） ≤ （1 - c）n1（T）＋ 1.

In this paper, we consider the estimation of the finite time survival probability in the classical risk model when the initial surplus is zero. We construct a nonparametric estimator by Fourier inversion and kernel density estimation method. Under some mild assumptions imposed on the kernel, bandwidth and claim size density, we derive the order of the bias and variance, and show that the estimator has asymptotic normality property. Some simulation studies show that the estimator performs quite well in the finite sample setting.
