An Experimental Analysis of Stability in Human Walking

Biped locomotion has excellent environment adaptability due to natural selection and evolution over hundreds of millions years. However, the biped walking stability mechanism is still not clear. In this paper, an experimental analysis of walking stability in human walking is carried out by using a motion capture system. A new stability analysis method is proposed based on Zero Moment Point （ZMP） and Sliding Time Window （STW）. The influences of ground friction coefficient, ground slope angle and contact area of support polygon on human walking stability are investigated. The experiment is carried out with 12 healthy subjects, and 53 passive reflective markers are pasted to each subject to obtain moving trajectory and to calculate lower limb joint variation during walking. Experimental results show that ground friction coefficient, ground slope angle and contact area have significant effects on the stride length, step height, gait cycle and lower limb joint angles. When walking with small stability margin, subjects modulate gait to improve the stability, such as shortening stride length, reducing step height, and increasing the gait cycle. These results provide insights into the stability mechanism of human walking, which is beneficial for locomotion control of biped robots.

Well-designed indoor scenes incorporate interior design knowledge,which has been an essential prior for most indoor scene modeling ***,the layout qualities of indoor scene datasets are often uneven,and most existing data-driven methods do not differentiate indoor scene examples in terms of *** this work,we aim to explore an approach that leverages datasets with differentiated indoor scene examples for indoor scene *** solution conducts subjective evaluations on lightweight datasets having various room configurations and furniture layouts,via pairwise comparisons based on fuzzy set *** also develop a system to use such examples to guide indoor scene modeling using user-specified ***,we focus on object groups associated with certain human activities,and define room features to encode the relations between the position and direction of an object group and the room *** perform indoor scene modeling,given an empty room,our system first assesses it in terms of the user-specified object groups,and then places associated objects in the room guided by the assessment results.A series of experimental results and comparisons to state-of-the-art indoor scene synthesis methods are presented to validate the usefulness and effectiveness of our approach.

The recognition and retrieval of identical videos by combing through entire video files requires a great deal of time and memory space. Therefore, most current video-matching methods analyze only a part of each video's image frame information. All these methods, however, share the critical problem of erroneously categorizing identical videos as different if they have merely been altered in resolution or converted with a different codec. This paper deals instead with an identical-video-retrieval method using the low-peak feature of audio data. The low-peak feature remains relatively stable even with changes in bit-rate or codec. The proposed method showed a search success rate of 93.7% in a video matching experiment. This approach could provide a technique for recognizing identical content on video file share sites.

Recently,many audio search sites headed by Google have used audio fingerprinting technology to search for the same audio and protect the music copyright using one part of the audio ***,if there are fingerprints per audio file,then the amount of query data for the audio search *** this paper,we propose a novel method that can reduce the number of fingerprints while providing a level of performance similar to that of existing *** proposed method uses the difference of Gaussians which is often used in feature extraction during image signal *** the experiment,we use the proposed method and dynamic time warping and undertake an experimental search for the same audio with a success rate of 90%.The proposed method,therefore,can be used for an effective audio search.

A Fine-Grained Flash-Memory Fragment Recognition Approach for Low-Level Data Recovery

Data recovery from flash memory in the mobile device can effectively reduce the loss caused by data corruption. Type recognition of data fragment is an essential prerequisite to the low-level data recovery. Previous works in this field classify data fragment based on its file type. Still, the classification efficiency is low, especially when the data fragment is a part of a composite *** propose a fine-grained approach to classifying data fragment from the low-level flash memory to improve the classification accuracy and efficiency. The proposed method redefines flash-memory-page data recognition problem based on the encoding format of the data segment, and applies a hybrid machine learning algorithm to detect the data type of the flash page. The hybrid algorithm can significantly decompose the given data space and reduce the cost of training. The experimental results show that our method achieves better classification accuracy and higher time performance than the existing methods.

Ti-6Al-4Zr-2Sn-6Mo alloy is one of the most recent titanium alloys processed using powder bed fusion-laser beam(PBF-LB)*** alloy has the potential to replace Ti-6Al-4V in automotive and aerospace applications,given its superior mechanical properties,which are approximately 10%higher in terms of ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and yield strength after appropriate heat *** as-built conditions,the alloy is characterized by the presence of soft orthorhombicα″martensite,necessitating a postprocessing heat treatment to decompose this phase and enhance the mechanical properties of the ***,PBFed Ti6246 components undergo an annealing process that transforms theα″martensite into anα-βlamellar *** primary objective of this research was to develop a solution treatment and aging(STA)heat treatment tailored to the unique microstructure produced by the additive manufacturing process to achieve an ultrafine bilamellar microstructure reinforced by precipitation *** study investigated the effects of various solution temperatures in theα-βfield(ranging from 800 to 875℃),cooling media(air and water),and aging time to determine the optimal heat treatment parameters for achieving the desired bilamellar *** each heat treatment condition,differentα-βmicrostructures were found,varying in terms of theα/βratio and the size of the primaryα-phase *** attention was given to how these factors were influenced by increases in solution temperature and how microhardness correlated with the percentage of the metastableβphase present after *** tests were performed on samples subjected to the most promising heat treatment parameters.A comparison with literature data revealed that the optimized STA treatment enhanced hardness and UTS by13%and 23%,respectively,compared with those of the annealed *** surface analyses were conducted to investigate fracture mechanisms.

Previously we have designed and implemented new image browsing facilities to support effective offiine image contents on mobile devices with limited capabilities： low bandwidth, small display, and slow processing. In this letter, we fulfill the automatic production of cartoon contents fitting small-screen display, and introduce a clustering method useful for various types of cartoon images as a prerequisite stage for preserving semantic meaning. The usage of neural networks is to properly cut the various forms of pages. Texture information that is useful for grayscale image segmentation gives us a good clue for page layout analysis using the multilayer perceptron （MLP） based x-y recursive algorithm. We also automatically frame the segment MLP using agglomerative segmentation. Our experimental results show that the combined approaches yield good results of segmentation for several cartoons.
