In this paper,an efficient multi-step scheme is presented based on reproducing kernel Hilbert space(RKHS)theory for solving ordinary stiff differential *** solution methodology depends on reproducing kernel functions to obtain analytic solutions in a uniform formfor a rapidly convergent series in the posed Sobolev *** the Gram-Schmidt orthogonality process,complete orthogonal essential functions are obtained in a compact field to encompass Fourier series expansion with the help of kernel properties ***,by applying the standard RKHS method to each subinterval,approximate solutions that converge uniformly to the exact solutions are *** this purpose,several numerical examples are tested to show proposed algorithm’s superiority,simplicity,and *** gained results indicate that themulti-step RKHSmethod is suitable for solving linear and nonlinear stiffness systems over an extensive duration and giving highly accurate outcomes.

The non-classical properties of light propagating in four-channel Kerr waveguides, confined in an optical cavity, are studied. The solution to the Hamiltonian of field operators is obtained semi-analytically by using symmetrically ordered phase-space representation. Full quantum analysis of the input coherent fields displays a strong transition of photon property between the super-Poissonian and sub-Poissonian statistics. It is found that the cavity-assisted multichannel system exhibits enhanced squeezing both in single-and compound-mode. This multichannel system may be utilized as an efficient quantumlight generator.

Few previous Reversible Visible Watermarking(RVW)schemes have both good transparency and watermark *** adaptive RVW scheme that integrates Total Variation and visual perception in Block Truncation Coding(BTC)compressed domain,called TVB-RVW is proposed in this paper.A new mean image estimation method for BTC-compressed images is first developed with the help of Total ***,a visual perception factor computation model is devised by fusing texture and luminance *** adaptive watermark embedding strategy is used to embed the visible watermark with the effect of the visual perception factor in the BTC ***,a lossless embedding method of the encrypted visible watermark is exploited to deter illegal watermark *** visible watermark can be removed since the visual perception factor and the estimated mean image remain unchanged before and after watermark *** experiments validate the superiority of the proposed algorithm over previous RVW schemes in BTC in terms of the visual quality of watermarked images and watermark visibility,and it can achieve a good balance between transparency and watermark visibility.

The edges between vertices in networks take not only the common binary values, but also the ordered values in some situations(e.g., the measurement of the relationship between people from worst to best in social networks). In this paper, the authors study the asymptotic property of the moment estimator based on the degrees of vertices in ordered networks whose edges are ordered random variables. In particular, the authors establish the uniform consistency and the asymptotic normality of the moment estimator when the number of parameters goes to infinity. Simulations and a real data example are provided to illustrate asymptotic results.

The aim of the paper is to analyze a possible teleconnection of Quasi-Biennial Oscillation （QBO）, Southern Oscillation （SO）, North Atlantic Oscillation （NAO）, and Arctic Oscillation （AO） phenomena with longterm streamflow fluctuation of the Bela River （1895-2004） and Cierny Hron River （1931-2004）（central Slovakia）. Homogeneity, long-term trends, as well as inter-annual dry and wet cycles were analyzed for the entire 1895-2004 time series of the Bela River and for the 1931-2004 time series of the Cierny Hron River. Inter-annual fluctuation of the wet and dry periods was identified using spectral analysis. The most significant period is that of 3.6 years. Other significant periods are those of 2.35 years, 13.5 years, and 21 years. Since these periods were found in other rivers of the world, as well as in SO, NAO, and AO phenomena, they can be considered as relating to the general regularity of the Earth.

Diuretic and antioxidant activities of the aqueous extract of leaves of Cassia occidentalis(Linn.) in rats

Objective: To assess the putative diuretic and antioxidant properties of Cassia occidentalis(C. occidentalis) leaves' aqueous extract. Methods: Adult rats were administered with C. occidentalis leaves aqueous extract acutely(24-h) and subchronically(7 d), at doses 80, 160, 240, 320, and 400 mg/kg(per os). Negative control group received only an equivalent volume of distilled water, while the two positive control groups received the diuretic drugs furosemide(20 mg/kg, i.p.) and hydrochlorothiazide(HCTZ, 20 mg/kg, i.p.). Urinary elimination of electrolytes in response to treatments was evaluated, together with changes in concentrations of creatinine, urea, aldosterone, glucose, and albumin in urine and plasma. Various urinary indicators of kidney function and plasmatic markers of oxidative stress were also assessed. Results: The acute administration of C. occidentalis increased the urinary excretion of 107.58% at the higher dose tested, compared to negative control. The reference drugs furosemide and HCTZ induced increases of 84.27 % and 48.05 %, respectively. Acutely, the extract induced Na+ and Cl- elimination, whereas subchronically an increase in K+ elimination was also observed. The extract also improved the kidney function indexes and oxidative stress markers. These effects were dose-dependent and comparable with positive control observations. Conclusions: Our i ndings strongly suggest that C. occidentalis aqueous extract has diuretic and antioxidant activities, and deserves further studies considering the potential for the treatment of hypertension.

In this work, the effect of electrical discharge on nitrate concentration is considered in aqueous solution. The atmospheric pressure plasma was produced by a high-voltage power supply at 27 k Hz using pin-to-pin configuration. Air, argon,and argon/methane mixture were used to study the working gas effect. UV-VIS spectroscopy and ion chromatography were used to analyze the effect of the electrical discharge on nitrate concentration in deionized water. Optical emission spectroscopy（OES） was applied to diagnose active species inside and on the surface of the deionized water solution. The results of the present work showed that the atmospheric pressure electric discharge with air increases nitrate concentration while it remains constant using argon and argon/methane electrical discharges. It was also revealed that in the presence of air, the electrical discharge reduces p H, acidifying the solution and increasing solution conductivity due to production of extra nitrate ions. On the other hand, argon electrical discharge increases p H and conductivity due to production of OHion in water.

In this paper,we propose a mathematical model of tuberculosis with two treatments and exogenous re-infection,in which the treatment is effective for number of infectious individuals and it fails for some other infectious individuals who are being *** show that the model exhibits the phenomenon of backward bifurcation,where a stable disease-free equilibrium coexists with a stable endemic equilibria when the related basic reproduction number is less than ***,it is shown that under certain conditions the model cannot exhibit backward ***,it is shown in the absence of re-infection,the backward bifurcation phenomenon does not exist,in which the disease-free equilibrium of the model is globally asymptotically stable when the associated reproduction number is less than *** global asymptotic stability of the endemic equilibrium,when the associated reproduction number is greater than unity,is established using the geometric *** simulations are presented to illustrate our main results.

An efficient method to compute the permeability of disordered fibrous arrays is pro- posed. A stabilized mixed finite element method is used with an immersed domain ap- proach to represent the porous material at its microscopic scale. Therefore, the Stokes e- quations are solved in the whole domain （including solid part） using a penalization method. The accuracy is controlled by refining the mesh around the fluid-solid interface defined by a level-set function. Using homogenization techniques, the permeability of an RVE is obtained. Furthermore, a new method to generate disordered fibers in function of the porosity, Ф, and other microstructural parameters is proposed and a study of the effect of inter-fiber spacing on K：, the permeability tensor, is performed using parallel computation and over 460 simulations were carried RVEs consisting of over 555 fibers.
