Correlation analysis of mental health conditions and personality of patients with alcohol addiction

BACKGROUND Alcohol addiction,or alcohol dependence,refers to a psychological state of strong craving for alcohol caused by drinking when both the drinking times and alcohol consumption reach a certain *** addiction can cause irreversible damage,leading to mental illness or mental disorders,negative changes in their original personality,and a tendency to safety incidents such as committing suicide or violent attacks on *** attention needs to be given to the mental health of alcohol addicts,which could reflect their abnormal personality ***,only a few papers on this issue have been reported in *** To investigate the correlation between mental health and personality in patients with alcohol *** In this single-center observational study,we selected 80 patients with alcohol addiction as the research subjects,according to the criteria of the K10 scale to evaluate the mental health of patients with alcohol addiction,and divided these patients into four groups based on the evaluation results:Good,average,relatively poor and *** then analyzed the correlation between mental health conditions and personality characteristics from these four groups of *** The average score of the K10 scale(Kessler 10 Simple Psychological Status Assessment Scale)in 80 patients with alcohol addiction was 25.45 points,the median score was 25 points,the highest score was 50 points,and the lowest score was 11 ***'s analysis showed that the K10 score was positively correlated with the scores of these two subscales,such as the P-subscale and the N-subscale(P0.05).CONCLUSION The mental health conditions of patients with alcohol addiction are positively correlated with their personality characteristics.

Synthesis of PET and Its Copolymer with Rare Earth Catalysts

A new catalyst system was used in the synthesis of polyethylene terephthalate(PET) and its copolymers, which involved a Ln 3+ containing compound. The catalytic effects were studied, and it was found that the direct esterification reaction of terephthalate acid(TPA) with ethylene glycol(EG) can be accelerated by the addition of Ln 3+ containing compound, which acts as a promoter of the catalyst Sb 2O 3 in polycondensation of bis hydroxyethyl terephthalate(BHET).

L-type calcium channel blockers enhance 5-HTP-induced antinociception in mice

AIM: To investigate the involvement of L-type Ca2+ channels in antinociceptive action induced by the 5-HT precursor,5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). METHODS: Female Kunming mice were treated with either 5-HTP (20-80 mg/kg,ip) alone, or the combination of 5-HTP and fluoxetine (2-8 mg/kg, ip), pargyline (15-60 mg/kg, ip), nimodipine (2.5-10 mg/kg, ip), nifedipine (2.5-10 mg/kg, ip), verapamil (2.5-10 mg/kg, ip), CaCl2 (5-20 mmol/L, icv), or EGTA(0.5-3 mmol/L, icv) prior to the hot-plate test (55 C, hind-paw licking latency). In addition, locomotor activity inmice treated with 5-HTP alone was measured using an ambulometer with five activity boxes. RESULTS: Ipinjection of 5-HTP alone had no influence on the spontaneous locomotor activity, whereas dose-dependently in-creased the latency to licking hind-paw in the hot-plate test in mice. The inhibitory effects of 5-HTP on nociceptiveresponse were significantly enhanced by fluoxetine in the mouse hot-plate test. At a sub-effective dose, pargylinecould cause a leftward shift in the dose-response curve of 5-HTP-induced antinociception. Co-administration with5-HTP and nimodipine, nifedipine, or verapamil obviously potentiated the antinociceptive effects elicited by ***, 5-HTP-induced antinociception was antagonized by CaCl2 and enhanced by EGTA injected icv in themouse hot-plate test. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest that systemic administration of 5-HTP may yield theantinociceptive effects, which are related to Ca2+ influx from extracellular fluid through L-type Ca2+ channels.

The electronic structures, Born effective charge tensors,and phonon properties of cubic, tetragonal,orthorhombic, and rhombohedral K_(0.5)Na_(0.5)NbO_3: A first-principles comparative study

The electronic structures, Born effective charges（BECs）, and full phonon dispersions of cubic, tetragonal, orthorhombic, and rhombohedral K0.5Na0.5Nb O3 are investigated by the first principles method based on density functional *** hybridized states of Nb 4d and O 2p states are observed in the valence band, showing the formation of a strong Nb–O covalent bond which should be responsible for the displacement of Nb and O atoms. The abnormally large BECs of Nb and O indicate the possibility of phase instability induced by the off-center displacement of Nb and O atoms. The phonon dispersions reveal that the ferroelectric instability of K0.5Na0.5Nb O3 is dominated by Nb and O displacements with significant Na characteristics. In addition to the ferroelectric instability, there is also rotational instability coming from the oxygen octahedra rotation around one axis. Moreover, the Γ phonon properties of orthorhombic KNb O3, Na Nb O3, and K0.5Na0.5Nb O3 are also studied in detail.

A new type of photon-added squeezed coherent state and its statistical properties

We construct a new type of photon-added squeezed coherent state generated by repeatedly operating the bosonic creation operator on a new type of squeezed coherent state [Fan H Y and Xiao M 1996 Phys. Lett. A 220 81l. We find that its normalization factor is related to single-variable Hermite polynomials. Furthermore, we investigate its statistical properties, such as Mandel＇s Q parameter, photon-number distribution, and Wigner function. The nonelassieality is displayed in terms of the intense oscillation of photon-number distribution and the negativity of the Wigner function.

Vacuum ultraviolet excited photoluminescence properties of Gd_2O_2CO_3:Eu^(3+) phosphor

The Gd2O2CO3：Eu^3＋ with type-Ⅱ structure phosphor was successfully synthesized via flux method at 400 ℃ and their photoluminescence properties in vacuum ultraviolet （VUV） region were examined. The broad and strong excitation bands in the range of 153-205 nm owing to the CO3^2- host absorption and charge transfer （CT） of Gd^3＋-O2^- were observed for Gd2O2CO3：Eu^3＋. Under 172 nm excitation, Gd2O2CO3：Eu^3＋ exhibited strong red emission with good color purity, indicating Eu^3＋ ions located at low symmetry sites and the chromaticity coordination of luminescence for Gd2O2CO3：Eu^3＋ was （x=0.652, y=0.345）. The photoluminescence quenching concentration of Eu^3＋ excited by 172 nm for Gd2O2CO3：Eu^3＋ was about 5%. Gd2O2CO3：Eu^3＋ would be a potential VUV-excited red phosphor applied in mercury-free fluorescent lamps.

Electrochemical characterization of MnO_2 as electrocatalytic energy material for fuel cell electrode

Development of inexpensive non Pt based high electrocatalytic energy materials is the need of the hour for fuel cell electrode to produce clean alternative green energy from synthesized bio alcohol using biomass. MnO 2,electro synthesized at different current density is found to be well performed electrocatalytic material,comparable to Pt,with higher current density,very lowovervoltage for the electrochemical oxidation of methanol. From EIS study,the polarization resistance of the coated MnO 2is found to be much lowand electrical double layer capacitance is high,the effect increases with increase in current density of electro deposition. XRD,EDX and AAS analysis confirm the M nO 2deposition. The morphology of SEM images exhibits an enhanced 3D effective substrate area,for electro oxidation of the fuel. A fewnano structured grains of the deposited M nO 2is also observed at higher current density. The fact supports that a high energetic inexpensive electro catalytic material has been found for fuel cell electrode to synthesis renewable energy from methanol fuel.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of SiC-particle-strengthening tri-metal Al/Cu/Ni composite produced by accumulative roll bonding process

In this study, a multilayer Al/Ni/Cu composite reinforced with Si C particles was produced using an accumulative roll bonding(ARB) process with different cycles. The microstructure and mechanical properties of this composite were investigated using optical and scanning microscopy and hardness and tensile testing. The results show that by increasing the applied strain, the Al/Ni/Cu multilayer composite converted from layer features to near a particle-strengthening characteristic. After the fifth ARB cycle, a composite with a uniform distribution of reinforcements(Cu, Ni, and SiC) was fabricated. The tensile strength of the composite increased from the initial sandwich structure to the first ARB cycle and then decreased from the first to the third ARB cycle. Upon reaching five ARB cycles, the tensile strength of the composite increased again. The variation in the elongation of the composite exhibited a tendency similar to that of its tensile strength. It is observed that with increasing strain, the microhardness values of the Al, Cu, and Ni layers increased, and that the dominant fracture mechanisms of Al and Cu were dimple formation and ductile fracture. In contrast, brittle fracture in specific plains was the main characteristic of Ni fractures.

Probabilistic assessment of rock slopes stability using the response surface approach——A case study

This paper examines the stability condition of a jointed rock slope in the south western region of Saudi Arabia using deterministic and probabilistic approaches,under both dry and wet *** study area is characterized by complex geology in rugged *** stability analysis is carried out using the code FLAC3D to generate a 3-dimensional,ubiquitous joint model,to determine the influence of the dominant,unfavourable discontinuity orientation with respect to the slope *** deterministic analysis is first implemented using the mean values of the selected random variables,namely the dip,dip direction and friction angle of the dominant discontinuity set,and the stability condition is assessed with a factor of safety based on the classical frictional joint constitutive model.A Box-Behnken design(BBD)approach is then adopted to create the surface response function as a second order polynomial for the factor of *** do so,fifteen FLAC3D models are generated in accordance with the *** on this,10,000 simulations of different slope realizations are carried out using Monte-Carlo simulation technique,and the probability of unsatisfactory of performance of the rock slope is *** is shown that the probabilistic approach provides more insight and confidence in the stability condition of the rock slope,both under dry and steady state heavy rainfall conditions.A discussion is presented on the significance of accepting lower safety factors when heavy rainfall conditions are encountered.

Electrochemical characterization of Ni-Co and Ni-Co-Fe for oxidation of methyl alcohol fuel with high energetic catalytic surface

Non Pt based metals and alloys as electrode materials for methyl alcohol fuel cells have been investigated w ith an aim of finding high electrocatalytic surface property for the faster electrode *** w ere fabricated by electrodeposition on pure Al foil,from an electrolyte of Ni,Co,Fe *** optimum condition of electrodeposition w ere found out by a series of experiments,varying the chemistry of the electrolyte,pH valve,temperature,current and cell *** study of the coated Ni-Co or Ni-CoFe alloy on pure Al w as found to exhibit high exchange current density,indicating an improved electro catalytic surface w ith faster charge-discharge reactions at anode and cathode and low *** impedance studies on coated and uncoated surface clearly show ed that the polarization resistance and impedance w ere decreased by Ni-Co or Ni-Co-Fe coating.X-ray diffraction(XRD),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX)and atomic absorption spectroscopy(AAS)studies confirmed the presence of alloying elements and constituents of the *** morphology of the deposits from scanning electron microscope(SEM)images indicated that the electrode surface w as a three dimensional space w hich increased the effective surface area for the electrode reactions to take place.
