Effect of acupuncture plus conventional treatment on brain activity in ischemic stroke patients: a regional homogeneity analysis

OBJECTIVE: To determine differences in cerebral activity evoked by acupuncture and conventional stroke treatment, and identify the treatment ***: In total, 21 patients were randomly divided into two groups. Group A(11 patients) received both acupuncture and conventional treatment, while group B(10 patients) received conventional treatment only. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(f MRI) was performed on each participant before and after treatment. Regional homogeneity analysis was performed to investigate the potential mechanism of acupuncture treatment by comparing differences in cerebral activity between ***: Group A showed higher Re Ho in the frontal lobe(BA6, BA46), supra-marginal gyrus(BA40),middle temporal gyrus(BA21), cerebellum, and insula. Group B showed higher Re Ho in the frontal lobe(BA6) and parietal lobe(BA3, BA7).CONCLUSION: Acupuncture and conventional treatment triggered relatively different clinical efficacy and brain responses. Acupuncture treatment more significantly improved the symptoms of stroke patients. More marked changes in sensory,emotional, and motor areas(including the frontal lobe, middle temporal gyrus, cerebellum, and insula) might reflect the specific acupuncture mechanism.

Bifurcation diagram globally underpinning neuronal firing behaviors modified by SK conductance

Neurons in the brain utilize various firing trains to encode the input signals they have received. Firing behavior of one single neuron is thoroughly explained by using a bifurcation diagram from polarized resting to firing, and then to depolarized resting. This explanation provides an important theoretical principle for understanding neuronal biophysical behaviors. This paper reports the novel experimental and modeling results of the modification of such a bifurcation dia- gram by adjusting small conductance potassium （SK） channel. In experiments, changes in excitability and depolarization block in nucleus accumbens shell and medium-spiny projection neurons are explored by increasing the intensity of injected current and blocking the SK channels by apamin. A shift of bifurcation points is observed. Then, a Hodgkin-Huxley type model including the main electrophysiological processes of such neurons is developed to reproduce the experimental results. The reduction of SK channel conductance also shifts the bifurcations, which is in consistence with experiment. A global bifurcation paradigm of this shift is obtained by adjusting two parameters, intensity of injected current and SK channel con- ductance. This work reveals the dynamics underpinning modulation of neuronal firing behaviors by biologically important ionic conductance. The results indicate that small ionic conductance other than that responsible for spike generation can modify bifurcation points and shift the bifurcation diagram and, thus, change neuronal excitability and adaptation.

Synthesis,Structure and Electric Property of a 3D Supramolecular Co^ⅡCoordination Complex

The title compound, [Co(C16H10N2S4)2(H2O)4](C14H9N2O4)2(1,C16H10N2S4=4-pyridine-tetrathiafulvalene-4-pyridine and C14 H9 N2 O4 = 4-(4-carboxyphenyl)diazenyl)benzoate),has been successfully synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The structure was determined by elemental analyses and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Moreover, the conductivity property of compound 1 was investigated. Compound 1 crystallizes in triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 6.4006(3), b = 7.1818(4), c = 33.0932(14) ?, α = 89.261(4), β = 86.530(3), γ = 66.642(4)°, V =1393.90(12) ?3, Z = 1, C60 H46 N8 O12 S8 Co, M3 r = 1386.46, Dc = 1.652 g/cm, μ = 0.684 mm-1 and F(000) = 713. The final R = 0.0411 and wR = 0.0810 for 3936 observed reflections with I > 2σ(I).Compound 1 contains one-half of the complex cation with the CoI I ion located on an inversion center,and one 4-(4-carboxyphenyl)diazenyl)benzoate counter anion. The Co atom has a N2 O4 octahedral coordination. Complex 1 forms a three-dimensional supramolecular network and a semiconducting behavior is observed with srt= 0.04 S·cm-1.

Sodium fluoride was found to be a simple, mild and efficient catalyst for the synthesis of 2,4- disuhstituted 1,3-thiazoles and selenazoles utilizing phenacyl bromides/3-（2-bromoacetyl）-2H-chro- men-2-one and thioureaJphenylthiourea/selenourea in aqueous methanol at ambient temperature. Analytically pure products are formed within 1-3 rain in excellent yields.

Synthesis,Structural Characterization and Hydrogen Storage of Nickel-containing Mesoporous MCM-48 by Electroless Plating

Hydrogen is a promising fuel for it is clean,highly abundant and non-toxic,but on-board storage of hydrogen is still a *** it is imperative to have an efficient method of hydrogen *** mesoporous MCM-48 especially the nickel-containing MCM-48 has great potential in hydrogen ***-48 was prepared by hydrothermal *** electroless plating technology was used to deposit Ni on the surface of MCM-48 under ultrasonic *** X-ray diffraction（XRD）,transmission electron microscopy（TEM）,and N2 adsorption-desorption were employed to investigate the pore structure *** results showed that all the samples had Ia3 d cubic structure and pore channels were highly *** adsorption studies showed that the MCM-48 after nickel plating adsorbed nearly twice the amount of hydrogen than pure MCM-48 at 2.0 MPa,263 *** we believe that a small amount of Ni can improve the capacity of hydrogen adsorption of MCM-48 efficiently.

In correlated oxides,collaborative manipulation on light intensity,wavelength,pulse duration and polarization has yielded many exotic discoveries,such as phase transitions and novel quantum *** view of potential optoelectronic applications,tailoring long-lived static properties by light-induced effects is highly *** far,the polarization state of light has rarely been reported as a control parameter for this ***,we report polarization-dependent metal-to-insulator transition(MIT)in phaseseparated manganite thin films,introducing a new degree of freedom to control static ***,we observed giant photoinduced resistance jumps with striking features:(1)a single resistance jump occurs upon a linearly polarized light incident with a chosen polarization angle,and a second resistance jump occurs when the polarization angle changes;(2)the amplitude of the second resistance jump depends sensitively on the actual change of the polarization *** transmittance measurements reveal that the origin of the above phenomena is closely related to the coexistence of anisotropic *** results represent a first step to utilize light polarization as an active knob to manipulate static phase transitions,pointing towards new pathways for nonvolatile optoelectronic devices and sensors.

Uptake and accumulation of copper by roots and shoots of maize( Zea mays L.)

The effects of different concentrations of copper sulfate on root and shoot growth of maize( Zea mays L.) and the uptake and accumulation of Cu2+ by its roots and shoots were investigated in the present study. The concentrations of copper sulfate (CuSO4 (.) 5H(2)O) used were in the range of 10(-5) -10(-3)mol/L. Root growth decreased progressively with increasing concentration of Cu2+ in solution. The seedlings exposed to 10(-3) mol/L Cu2+ exhibited substantial growth reduction, yielding only 68% of the root length of the control. The shoot growth of the seedlings grown at 10(-5) -10(-4) mol/L Cu2+ were more or less the same as the control seedlings. The leaves treated with 10(-3) mol/L Cu2+ were obviously inhibited in shoot growth. The fresh and dry weights both in roots and shots decreased progressively with increasing Cu2+ concentration. This fits well with the above mentioned effects of copper sulfate on root growth. Zea mays has considerable ability to remove Cu from solutions and accumulate it. The Cu content in roots of Z. mays increased with increasing solution concentration of Cu2+. The amount of Cu in roots of plants treated with 10(-3), 10(-4) and 10(-5) mol/L Cu2+ were 10, 8 and 1.5 fold, respectively, greater than that of roots of control plane. However, the plants transported and concentrated only a small amount of Cu in their shoots.

Along with the development of 5G network and Internet of Things technologies,there has been an explosion in personalized healthcare *** the 5G and Artificial Intelligence(Al)is introduced into diabetes management architecture,it can increase the efficiency of existing systems and complications of diabetes can be handled more effectively by taking advantage of *** this article,we propose a 5G-based Artificial Intelligence Diabetes Management architecture(AIDM),which can help physicians and patients to manage both acute complications and chronic *** AIDM contains five layers:the sensing layer,the transmission layer,the storage layer,the computing layer,and the application *** build a test bed for the transmission and application ***,we apply a delay-aware RA optimization based on a double-queue model to improve access efficiency in smart hospital wards in the transmission *** application layer,we build a prediction model using a deep forest *** on real-world data show that our AIDM can enhance the efficiency of diabetes management and improve the screening rate of diabetes as well.
