本研究于2020至2021年在西喀尔巴阡山脉的山麓地区进行,研究了高山天南星(Arum alpinum)的物种数量和选定特征的空间-时间变异。调查分别在4个永久样地中进行(Patch Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ)。Patch Ⅰ和Patch Ⅲ位于以低矮植被为主的枫树-鹅耳枥林(Tilio cordatae-Carpinetum betuli)林地中,而Patch Ⅱ和Patch Ⅳ位于以阔叶物种为主的白杨(Populetum albae)河滩林中。调查结果表明,高山天南星最丰富种群出现在Patch Ⅰ,但Patch Ⅱ和Patch Ⅳ中也存在大量的营养体和繁殖个体。个体性状的时间变异性在Patch Ⅳ最低,其次是Patch Ⅰ和Patch Ⅱ,在Patch Ⅲ最高。所有种群中均发现叶柄长度与叶片尺寸以及有性茎长度与果序特征之间的关系显著呈正相关,这一发现证实了先前的研究。这些研究结果表明,高山天南星与特定的森林群落没有密切关联。充足的遮荫和湿润富养分的土壤对该物种有利,而干燥的土壤和过多的日照可能会限制其个体的开花与结果。

Stomatal regulation is critical for mangroves to survive in the hyper-saline intertidal zone where water stress is severe and water availability is highly ***,very little is known about the stomatal sensitivity to vapour pressure deficit(VPD)in mangroves,and its co-ordination with stomatal morphology and leaf hydraulic *** measured the stomatal response to a step increase in VPD in situ,stomatal anatomy,leaf hydraulic vulnerability and pressure-volume traits in nine true mangrove species of five families and collected the data of genome *** aimed to answer two questions:(1)Does stomatal morphology influence stomatal dynamics in response to a high VPD in mangroves?with a consideration of possible influence of genome size on stomatal morphology;and(2)do leaf hydraulic traits influence stomatal sensitivity to VPD in mangroves?We found that the stomata of mangrove plants were highly sensitive to a step rise in VPD and the stomatal responses were directly affected by stomatal anatomy and hydraulic ***,denser stomata was correlated with faster stomatal closure at high VPD across the species of Rhizophoraceae,and stomata size negatively and vein density positively correlated with genome *** negative leaf osmotic pressure at the full turgor(πo)was related to higher operating steady-state stomatal conductance(gs);and a higher leaf capacitance(Cleaf)and more embolism resistant leaf xylem were associated with slower stomatal responses to an increase in *** addition,stomatal responsiveness to VPD was indirectly affected by leaf morphological traits,which were affected by site salinity and consequently leaf water *** results demonstrate that mangroves display a unique relationship between genome size,stomatal size and vein packing,and that stomatal responsiveness to VPD is regulated by leaf hydraulic traits and stomatal *** work provides a quantitative framework to better understand of stomatal regulation in mangroves

Hormones play important roles in vegetative and reproductive processes;however,the regulatory roles of hormones in Nelumbo nucifera(Lotus)growth and development are *** this study,nine types of endogenous hormones,including gibberellins(GA_1,GA_3,and GA_4),indole-3-acetic acid(IAA),brassinolide(BR),ethylene(ETH),jasmonic acid(JA),abscisic acid(ABA),and zeatin(ZT)were detected in dormant shoot tips,vegetative shoot tips,developing leaf buds,and developing flower buds of *** results indicated that GA,ETH,and BR signaling can promote vegetative and reproductive development of *** signaling regulates plant height and stimulates flower bud *** levels were the highest in the flower buds;exogenous GA3+4 increased plant height by approximately 90%,increased flower quantity by nearly 40%,and advanced flowering by 4 *** GA biosynthesis using paclobutrazol decreased plant height and flower quantity by 38%and 87.1%,respectively,and delayed flowering by 15.6 *** signaling has positive regulatory effects on vegetative growth and flower *** ETH concentration in the developing leaf buds was at least 50%higher than that in other *** spraying led to remarkable increases in plant height and leaf thickness and extended the flowering *** signaling acts as a growth promoter during vegetative and reproductive development in *** highest BR levels were detected in the vegetative shoot *** application of28-epihomobrassinolide resulted in growth-promoting phenotypes including longer scapes,thicker leaves,and prolonged flowering.

The population density of the white-tailed sea eagle Haliaeetus albicilla is very low in many *** last twenty years,the sea eagle population in South Bohemia was restored by strict protection subsidized by *** active help consisted of feeding during winter and building of artificial nests.A new sea eagle breeding population arose in the T r ˇeboň basin area in the early 1980'*** this time sea eagles had used former breeding places only for wintering,probably coming from the *** South Bohemian sea eagle population is very unique:it exists in a densely man-occupied landscape,mainly in areas with very intensive carp breeding in artificial fishponds and was partly artficially(help to wintering birds and reintroduction of some individuals)*** experience from South Bohemia may have importance for populations of the sea eagle in other areas of its occurence,primarily in the continental conditions.

Effect of altitude and climatic parameters on shrub-meadow community composition and diversity in the dry valley region of the eastern Hengduan Mountains,China

Because of the“foehn effect”,deeply incised gorges of major rivers in the Hengduan Mountains(commonly called dry valleys)have semiarid or arid *** environment and difficult access have so far obstructed the systematic inventory and documentation of the flora of these dry *** is particularly problematic for efforts towards the conservation of endemic and valuable plant ***,102 shrub-meadow community survey plots were set up along four dry valleys in Ganzi prefecture,located in the eastern Hengduan Mountains,*** compositions,richness,diversity of these communities were calculated and assessed using sample plot survey and phytosociological ***,244 plant species were recorded,consisting of subtropical(48.77%)and temperate(38.83%)species,47.13%of which were endemic to southwest *** differences in species composition and structure along the altitude gradient were *** variations of richness,diversity,and evenness followed a bimodal-hump shaped pattern with increasing altitude,with peak occurring at mid-level altitude(3501–4000 m)and valley occurring at 2501–3000 m *** regions at 2501–3000 m altitudes were more sensitive to global climate change and biological interference,and were found to have the highest protection *** impacts of altitude gradients and climatic parameters on the features of this shrubmeadow community were also evaluated using principal component and multiple linear stepwise regression analysis *** and temperature-related variables were the most important drivers of both species richness and ***α-diversity here only depended on the precipitation *** founding could help to understand the impact of the very harsh environment and altitude gradient on plant-plant interactions in a variety of natural systems.

For adaptation to ever-changing environments,plants have evolved elaborate metabolic systems coupled to a regulatory network for optimal growth and defense. Regulation of plant secondary metabolic pathways such as glucosinolates(GSLs) by defense phytohormones in response to different stresses and nutrient deficiency has been intensively investigated, while how growth-promoting hormone balances plant secondary and primary metabolism has been largely unexplored. Here, we found that growth-promoting hormone brassinosteroid(BR) inhibits GSLs accumulation while enhancing biosynthesis of primary sulfur metabolites, including cysteine(Cys) and glutathione(GSH) both in Arabidopsis and Brassica crops, fine-tuning secondary and primary sulfur metabolism to promote plant growth. Furthermore, we demonstrate that of BRASSINAZOLE RESISTANT 1(BZR1), the central component of BR signaling, exerts distinct transcriptional inhibition regulation on indolic and aliphatic GSL via direct MYB51 dependent repression of indolic GSL biosynthesis, while exerting partial MYB29 dependent repression of aliphatic GSL biosynthesis. Additionally, BZR1 directly activates the transcription of APR1 and APR2 which encodes rate-limiting enzyme adenosine 5′-phosphosulfate reductases in the primary sulfur metabolic *** summary, our findings indicate that BR inhibits the biosynthesis of GSLs to prioritize sulfur usage for primary metabolites under normal growth *** findings expand our understanding of BR promoting plant growth from a metabolism perspective.
