This paper proposes to resolve optimal solar photovoltaic(SPV)system locations and sizes in electrical distribution networks using a novel Archimedes optimization algorithm(AOA)inspired by physical principles in order to minimize network dependence and greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions to the greatest extent *** sensitivity factors are used to predefine the search space for sites,and AOA is used to identify the optimal locations and sizes of SPV systems for reducing grid dependence and GHG emissions from conventional power *** with composite agriculture loads on a practical Indian 22-bus agricultural feeder,a 28-bus rural feeder and an IEEE 85-bus feeder demonstrated the critical nature of optimally distributed SPV systems for minimizing grid reliance and reducing GHG emissions from conventional energy ***,the voltage profile of the network has been enhanced,resulting in significant reductions in distribution *** results of AOA were compared to those of several other nature-inspired heuristic algorithms previously published in the literature,and it was observed that AOA outperformed them in terms of convergence and redundancy when solving complex,non-linear and multivariable optimization problems.

Cattle are central to the lives and diverse cultures of African *** has played a crucial role in providing valuable protein for billions of households and sources of income and employment for producers and other actors in the livestock value *** long-term natural selection of African cattle typically signals signatures in the genome,contributes to high genetic differentiations across *** has enabled them to develop unique adaptive traits to cope with inadequate feed supply,high temperatures,high internal and external parasites,and ***,these unique cattle genetic resources are threatened by indiscriminate cross-breeding,breed replacements with exotic cosmopolitan breeds,and climate change *** there are no functional genomics studies,recent advancements in genotyping and sequencing technologies have identified and annotated limited functional genes and causal variants associated with unique adaptive and economical traits of African cattle *** genome-wide variants serve as candidates for breed improvement and support conservation efforts for endangered cattle breeds against future climate ***,this review plans to collate comprehensive information on the identified selection footprints to support genomic studies in African cattle to confirm the validity of the results and provide a framework for further genetic association and QTL fine mapping studies.

Flash flood is a dangers natural disaster causes lots of structure damage, traffic collapse, economic defects and human life loss. An efficient way to reduce its effects is preparing flash flood mapping to identify zones at risk due to flood. Flash flood mapping is a powerful tool for urban planners, traffic and infrastructure engineers, emergency and rescue services. This article proposes an approach utilizes remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS) to prepare flood risk code (FRC) map for Jeddah city, Saudi Arabia. The proposed approach applied the Curve Number (CN) method of flood modelling and uses runoff depth, land use, soil hydrological parameters, surface slope, and longest flow path to generate FRC. SPOT satellite image of the study area was classified to generate land use map, Digital Elevation Model (DEM) was used for generating slope map and for hydrology analysis using HEC-GeoHMS tool, and soil properties were generated from scanned soil maps. All data were integrated in ArcGIS 10.4.1 to prepare the final flood risk map. The results show that a precipitation of 106.3 mm will generate 136.5 million m3 of flood water. The results according to the developed flood risk code show that due to this amount of precipitation, about 1 million people live in Jeddah are prone to extreme flood risk and about 2 million of population are at major risk, the rest of population (about 0.5 million) are vulnerable to moderate to minor fold risk. The approach was verified using ground truth data and proofed precision.

Currently, Global Positioning system (GPS) techniques are becoming a much larger part of the surveying industry. Many companies are now using GPS in their everyday work activities. The Real Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning is an integral part of topographic surveys, road surveying, constructions and most civil engineering applications. Normally, RTK can be used to collect the positioning data successfully and quickly. The civil and construction projects are designed in ground distances while RTK measurements are done in grid coordinate system, in which the distances between points are different from ground. The RTK measurements should be converted to ground for compatibility with the designed. In this paper, the accuracy of three alternatives for converting RTK measurements to ground was studied. These alternatives are, using scale factor, using two ground reference points and using Low Distortion Projection (LDP) surface. For the accuracy investigation purpose, a traverse of 14 points elongated for a distance of about 1400 m was constructed. Its coordinates were measured using total station, then the misclosure error was computed and the coordinates were adjusted. The traverse points coordinates were measured again using RTK_GPS considering one of them as base point. The three studied alternatives were applied and the results were compared. The results show that the accuracy of the three alternatives is ranging from 2.1 to 2.9 cm in the relative position of points to the base point. For absolute position accuracy, the two ground reference points alternative is the most accurate alternative with an average error of 3.8 cm while the other two alternatives are almost the same with an average error of 12.3 cm.

CRISPR-Cas9,-Cas12a,-Cas12b,and-Cas13 have been harnessed for genome engineering in human and plant cells(Liu et al.,2022).However,the large size of these Cas proteins(e.g.190 kDa for SpCas9)makes them difficult to deliver into cells via a viral *** development of smaller Cas proteins will lead to reduced viral vector sizes that can be more widely adopted in versatile genome engineering ***,a CRISPR-Cas12j2(CasF)system was discovered in huge phages and developed into a hypercompact genome editor due to the small size of Cas12j2(80 kDa)(Pausch et al.,2020).Unfortunately,the gene editing efficiency of Cas12j2 in Arabidopsis protoplasts using ribonucleoprotein delivery was less than one percent(Pausch et al.,2020).Further optimization of this system is clearly required if CRISPR-Cas12j2-mediated editing in plant genomes is to be adopted by the plant sciences community.

Maintaining suitable temperature level around tomato in the greenhouse is essential for the high-quality ***,in summer,the temperature level around the tomato is usually unclear except using a high-precision temperature *** solve this problem,thermal performance of 3D(three-dimensional)tomato model built based on SolidWorks was investigated by the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)*** assess the effect of temperature distribution around the tomato,a simplified 3D tomato numerical model was firstly validated by a set of field measurement *** light intensity and indoor ventilation were regarded as the mainly environment factors in the Venlo greenhouse,thermal stratification around tomatoes at different time of day was further *** numerical results illustrated the different temperature distribution around tomato body under different radiation *** was found that ventilation could obviously adjust the temperature gradient around the tomato,and alleviate high temperature effect particularly in *** ventilation could create a suitable thermal environment for the tomato *** study clearly demonstrated 3D temperature distribution around tomatoes,which is beneficial to provide the reference for accurate detection of 3D tomato temperature and appropriate thermal environment design.

Prefabricated pavement is increasingly applied worldwide due to the rapid construction *** paper presents a state-of-the-art review of the precast systems and assembly connection of concrete slabs,as well as the precast pavement *** previous research indicates that:(1)both super-slab and Michigan systems are recommended with the satisfied road performance close to the cast-in-place;(2)flexible base material is suggested for the fabricated pavement for the satisfied leveling and stress distribution;(3)to prevent the voiding phenomenon of the fabricated pavement,the sand cushion course,dry mixed mortar or self-leveling mortar,and other flowable materials could be used for the secondary leveling of the base after the pavement splicing;(4)two-direction dowel bars are recommended for slab connections of the fabricated pavement,which helps to improve the load transfer capacity of the joints and enhance the durability of the fabricated pavement structure;(5)the sealing treatment of precast slab joints needs strengthening to reduce the impact of surface runoff on the base course;(6)the further research focuses are designing with functional,composite,mechanized,intelligent,lightweight,and flexible pavement ***,pavement mechanical properties induced by temperature overlapping traffic loads need to be revealed.

Data on the origin and morphology of lake depressions caused by volcanism are scarce in *** studies focused on climate change patterns based on Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake *** present a result of existing reconstructions of lake depression development and changes in the hydrology system during the Khorgo volcanic activation and the Holocene environmental change.A depression of the Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake is formed by a lava flow barrier from the Khorgo ***,the Khorgo volcanic eruption and the lake depression that could shape a large lake have arisen instead from a *** morphometric analysis and field measurements indicate that the derivation of the Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake depression and Khorgo volcano may have evolved from movement on a sinistral strike-slip fault,which is about 70 km *** southern mountains and rivers were displaced from northwest to southeast along the Terkh *** offset along Terkh Fault is 4.02-5.28 km in the depression of the Terkhiin Tsagaan *** movement,a wide valley of the Terkh River developed in the present *** active Khorgo Volcano formed along the Khorgo *** Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake is formed by blocked water from the PaleoTerkh River after lava damming from the Khorgo *** initial paleo-lake area was about 195.7km^(2),which was three times larger than the modern *** current water volume of the Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake is 0.351 km^(3) while the volume of the paleo-lake was 2.248 km^(3).Based on this volume indicator the paleo-lake was 6.4 times larger than the current *** water from the lake depression formed the Suman River by a drying canyon through the lava plateau,but the canyon is along the Terkh *** in the water volume of Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake and erosion of Suman River canyon are inversely related to each *** present the morphometric relationships between the lava plateau of Khorgo Volcano and development of Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake depressi

Flash floods in arid environments are a major hazard feature to human and to the infrastructure. Shortage of accurate environmental data is main reason for inaccurate prediction of flash flooding characteristics. The curve number (CN) is a hydrologic number used to describe the storm water runoff potential for drainage area. This study introduces an approach to determine runoff coefficient in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia using remote sensing and GIS. Remote sensing and geographic information system techniques were used to obtain and prepare input data for hydrologic model. The land cover map was derived using maximum likelihood classification of a SPOT image. The soil properties (texture and permeability) were derived using the soil maps published my ministry of water and agriculture in Saudi Arabia. These soil parameters were used to classify the soil map into hydrological soil groups (HSG). Using the derived information within the hydrological modelling system, the runoff depth was predicted for an assumed severe storm scenario. The advantages of the proposed approach are simplicity, less input data, one software used for all steps, and its ability to be applied for any site. The results show that the runoff depth is directly proportional to runoff coefficient and the total volume of runoff is more than 136 million cubic meters for a rainfall of 103.6 mm.
