The concept of OBE(outcome-based education)is more focused on designing and implementing teaching activities around expected learning outcomes than the traditional teaching model and enhancing the quality of education through clear and measurable learning outcomes,which has led to profound changes in the field of ***,environmental design practice teaching faces a series of challenges in the implementation of the OBE concept,including the complexity of the assessment system,personalized learning and creative learning,and over-reliance on quantitative ***,in order to further deepen the professionalization of the OBE concept,we have conducted research on the design education practice models at home and abroad,explored the practice teaching models and their applications such as project system,studio model,practical internships,and technology-driven interdisciplinary integration,and took the practice innovative teaching models of Stanford *** and Rhode Island School of Design(RISD)as examples to explore the characteristics of the curricula,cultivation modes,and the development of the environmental design professional practice teaching *** characteristics of OBE and RISD are discussed to provide a global vision and local contextual reference for the practice teaching reform of environmental design majors.

Solar greenhouse is a typical greenhouse without any additional heating system,which has developed rapidly in Northern ***,due to the construction quality,management methods,especially the long-term use and other factors,there are usually different degrees of thermodynamic disfigurements in the envelop enclosure of solar *** purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of thermodynamic disfigurement on the temperature distribution and convective heat transfer of solar *** this study,the east and west compartments of a typical solar greenhouse which is located in Yangling,China(108°4′E,34°16′N)were *** air temperature of each compartment was collected using temperature recorders,and the thermal infrared images of different compartment envelopes were obtained by a thermal infrared imager on a typical cloudy *** heat transfer coefficients and heat flux densities of different compartment envelopes in the solar greenhouse were *** results showed that the temperature difference can be displayed in the thermal infrared images of compartment envelopes,the surface temperature of the front roof was the lowest,followed by the back roof,the wall surface temperature was the *** minimum average surface temperature of the front roof in the eastern compartment was only 3.8℃,which was 6.8℃ and 9.2℃ lower than the average surface temperature of the back roof and back wall,*** surface average temperature of thermodynamic disfigurements located at the bottom of the south side in the front roof of the eastern compartment,whose area accounted for 16.5%of the total front roof in the eastern compartment,was only 5.4℃.Compared with non-thermodynamic disfigurement,the average convective heat transfer coefficient and heat flux density of thermodynamic disfigurements in the front roof of the eastern compartment were increased by 20.3%and 110.3%,*** average air temperature in the eastern com

Arabis stelleri var. japonica evidenced stronger osmotic stress tolerance than Arabidopsis thaliana. Using an A. thaliana microarray chip, we determined changes in the expression of approximately 2 800 genes between A. stelleri plants treated with 0.2 M mannitol versus mock-treated plants. The most significant changes in the gene expression patterns were in genes defining cellular components or in genes associated with the endomembrane system, stimulus response, stress response, chemical stimulus response, and defense response. The expression patterns of three de novo proline biosynthesis enzymes were evaluated in A. stelleri var. japonica seedlings treated with 0.2 M mannitol, 0.2 M sorbitol, and 0.2 M NaCI. The expression of At-pyrroline-5-carboxylate synthetase was not affected by NaCI stress but was similarly induced by mannitol and sorbitol. The proline dehydrogenase gene, which is known to be repressed by dehydration stress and induced by free L-proline, was induced at an early stage by mannitol treatment, but the level of proline dehydrogenase was increased later by treatment with both mannitol and NaCI. The level of free L-proline accumulation increased progressively in response to treatments with mannitol, sorbitol, and NaCI. Mannitol induced L-proline accumulation more rapidly than NaCI or sorbitol. These findings demonstrate that the osmotic tolerance of the novel halophyte, Arabis stelleri, is associated with the accumulation of L-proline.

Currently,China has entered the period of land-sea coordinated planning,yet there are few studies on the interaction between land use intensity and sea eco-security in coastal ***,taking the coastal zone of Xiamen as an example,this paper develops a comprehensive system to evaluate the coupling degree between spatial utilization intensity and eco-security based on the coupling degree theory in *** the paper quantitatively analyzes and identifies the coupling coordination degree of various shore sections into four categories:well-coordinated and highly-coupled,moderately-coordinated and moderately-coupled,moderately-coordinated and slightly-coupled,and primary-level coordinated and ***,it puts forward spatial planning guidelines for the four types of shore sections on the basis of land-sea ***,reserved ecological section should follow the principle of giving priority to the marine ecosystem,and strictly protecting the ecosystem and controlling development;ecological promotion section should follow the principle of optimizing land development based on the sea resources,and reserving space for transformation;restricted development section should follow the principle of land-sea balance,and only allowing low-impact development activities to achieve synchronous land-sea development;development leverage section should follow the principle of optimizing marine development based on land resources,giving full play to the advantages of coastal resources and featured coastal space,and achieving spatial optimization in accordance with people-oriented principles and local *** research intends to provide a scientific basis for coastal zone planning and decision-making and a paradigm guide for gulf cities to coordinate the marine ecosystem and land development.

Previous studies have demonstrated the negative effects of sub-optimal air quality on profitability,production efficiency,environmental sustainability and animal *** were conducted to assess potential environmental improvement techniques such as installing oil-spraying systems in piggery *** developed spray system worked very well and it was easy to assemble and ***,before selecting the most suitable spray heads,their capacity to uniformly distribute the oily mixture and the area covered by the spray heads had to be *** vision techniques were used to evaluate the ability of different spray heads to evenly distribute the oil/water *** results indicated that the best coverage was achieved by spray head No.4 and spray head No.1 which covered 79%and 67%of the target area,*** distribution uniformity(variance)value was the lowest for spray head No.4(0.015).Spray head No.3 had the highest variance value(0.064).As the lowest variance means higher uniformity,nozzle No.4 was identified as the most suitable spray head for dust reduction in livestock buildings.

Optimal control algorithm of fertigation system in greenhouse based on EC model

Two new control algorithms based on MSP430 microcontroller unit(MCU)were developed to improve the performance of a fertigation system controlled by the electrical conductivity(EC)value of an irrigation nutrient solution in a *** first algorithm is incremental proportional-integral-derivative(PID),and the second one is a two-stage combination algorithm(PID+fuzzy).With an improved multi-line mixing Venturi tube,several sets of experiments were conducted for a fertilizer absorption test under two conditions,namely,various suction lines and different EC target values *** the first condition,with an EC target value of 2.0 mS/cm and opening of various suction pipes,the steady-state times are 186 s,172 s,134 s,and 122 s corresponding to the opening of one to four suction pipes,respectively,for PID+fuzzy *** corresponding values are 220 s,196 s,158 s,and 148 s for incremental PID *** the second condition,four suction pipes are opened with different target EC values of 1.5 mS/cm,2.0 mS/cm,and 2.5 mS/cm,and the shortest response time and the minimum overshoot were obtained for PID+fuzzy control when the target EC value is 1.5 mS/cm,which are 96 s and 0.18 mS/cm,*** the corresponding values are 112 s and 0.4 mS/cm,respectively for incremental PID *** two control strategies can adjust the EC value to the target value for real-time control,but the combination control algorithm can be implemented more rapidly,accurately,and steadily with a small overshoot compared with incremental PID *** combination algorithm(PID+fuzzy)control strategy also possesses better properties for automatic fertigation control in greenhouses than the incremental PID control strategy,the combination algorithm provides an optimal way of water and fertilizer management for crops in greenhouses which will contribute to water and fertilizer saving.

Floating photovoltaic(FPV)systems are one of the globally emerging technologies of renewable energy production that tend to balance the water-energy demand by effectively saving the evaporated water from reservoirs while generating electrical *** study presents the performance analysis of a model FPV plant in an Indian *** Mettur dam reservoir located in Tamil Nadu,India with a hydroelectric power plant of 150-MW capacity is considered as a test *** preliminary design of the FPV plant is proposed based on a detailed study of the key design elements and their suitability for Indian *** proposed plant is numerically analysed for various tilt angles,mounting systems and tracking mechanisms in order to assess its potential power generation.A flat-mount system in landscape orientation was found to exhibit a high performance ***,a fixed-tilt FPV system with a panel slope of 10°and an FPV system with single-axis tracking were found to be suitable for the Mettur ***,cost analysis of the FPV system is also presented along with the carbon-footprint estimation to establish the economic and environmental benefits of the *** results show that the total potential CO_(2) saving by a FPV system with tracking is 135918.87 t CO_(2) and it is 12.5%higher than that of a fixed-mount FPV system.

A detailed procedure for CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing in Arabidopsis thaliana

The newly developed CRISPR(Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats)/Cas(CRISPR-associated) system has emerged as an efficient tool for genome-editing, providing an alternative to classical mutagenesis and transgenic methods to study gene function and improve crop traits. CRISPR/Cas facilitates targeted gene editing through RNA-guided DNA cleavage followed by cellular DNA repair mechanisms that introduce sequence changes at the site of cleavage. Here we describe a detailed procedure for our previously developed and highly efficient CRISPR/Cas9 method that allows the generation of heritable-targeted gene mutations andcorrections in Arabidopsis. This protocol describes the strategies and steps for the selection of targets, design of single-guide RNA(sg RNA), vector construction and analysis of transgenic lines. We also offer a method to target two loci simultaneously using vectors containing two different sg RNAs. The principles described in this protocol can be applied to other plant species to generate stably inherited DNA modifications.
