In this paper, we study the problem of irreversible investment under endowment constraints. We first establish the existence and uniqueness of the result and then demonstrate the necessity and sufficient conditions for optimality. Based on this condition, we provide a characterization for optimal investment plans,which can be obtained by the so-called base capacity solving a backward equation. We may obtain explicit solutions for certain typical cases.

The Internet of Things(IoT)links various devices to digital services and significantly improves the quality of our ***,as IoT connectivity is growing rapidly,so do the risks of network vulnerabilities and *** interesting Intrusion Detection Systems(IDSs)are presented based on machine learning(ML)techniques to overcome this *** the resource limitations of fog computing environments,a lightweight IDS is *** paper introduces a hybrid deep learning(DL)method that combines convolutional neural networks(CNN)and long short-term memory(LSTM)to build an energy-aware,anomaly-based *** test this system on a recent dataset,focusing on reducing overhead while maintaining high accuracy and a low false alarm *** compare CICIoT2023,KDD-99 and NSL-KDD datasets to evaluate the performance of the proposed IDS model based on key metrics,including latency,energy consumption,false alarm rate and detection rate *** findings show an accuracy rate over 92%and a false alarm rate below 0.38%.These results demonstrate that our system provides strong security without excessive resource *** practicality of deploying IDS with limited resources is demonstrated by the successful implementation of IDS functionality on a Raspberry Pi acting as a Fog *** proposed lightweight model,with a maximum power consumption of 6.12 W,demonstrates its potential to operate effectively on energy-limited devices such as low-power fog nodes or edge *** prioritize energy efficiency whilemaintaining high accuracy,distinguishing our scheme fromexisting *** experiments demonstrate a significant reduction in false positives,ensuring accurate identification of genuine security threats while minimizing unnecessary alerts.

In this study, we investigated the performance improvement caused by the addition of copper(Cu)nanoparticles to high-density polyethylene(HDPE) matrix material. Composite materials, with filler percentages of 0.0, 2.0, 4.0, 6.0, 8.0, and 10.0 wt% were synthesized through the material extrusion(MEX)3D printing technique. The synthesized nanocomposite filaments were utilized for the manufacturing of specimens suitable for the experimental procedure that followed. Hence, we were able to systematically investigate their tensile, flexural, impact, and microhardness properties through various mechanical tests that were conducted according to the corresponding standards. Broadband Dielectric Spectroscopy was used to investigate the electrical/dielectric properties of the composites. Moreover, by employing means of Raman spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA) we were also able to further investigate their vibrational, structural, and thermal properties. Concomitantly, means of scanning electron microscopy(SEM), as well as atomic force microscopy(AFM), were used for the examination of the morphological and structural characteristics of the synthesized specimens, while energy-dispersive Xray spectroscopy(EDS) was also performed in order to receive a more detailed picture on the structural characteristics of the various synthesized composites. The corresponding nanomaterials were also assessed for their antibacterial properties regarding Staphylococcus aureus(S. aureus) and Escherichia coli(E. coli) with the assistance of a method named screening agar well diffusion. The results showed that the mechanical properties of HDPE benefited from the utilization of Cu as a filler, as they showed a notable improvement. The specimen of HDPE/Cu 4.0 wt% was the one that presented the highest levels of reinforcement in four out of the seven tested mechanical properties(for example, it exhibited a 36.7%improvement in the flexural strength, compared to the pure matrix). MicroRNAs(miRNAs)play a significant role in axon regeneration following spinal cord ***,the functions of numerous miRNAs in axon regeneration within the central nervous system(CNS)remain largely ***,we elucidate the positive role of microRNA-2184(miR-2184)in axon regeneration within zebrafish Mauthner cells(M-cells).The upregulation of miR-2184 in a single M-cell can facilitate axon regeneration,while the specific sponge-induced silencing of miR-2184 leads to impeded *** show that syt3,a downstream target of miR-2184,negatively regulates axon regeneration,and the regeneration suppression modulated by syt3 depends on its binding to Ca2+.Furthermore,pharmacological stimulation of the cAMP/PKA pathway suggests that changes in the readily releasable pool may affect axon *** data indicate that miR-2184 promotes axon regeneration of M-cells within the CNS by modulating the downstream target syt3,providing valuable insights into potential therapeutic strategies.

Water quality, habitat, and fish assemblage relationships in middle-order agriculture and forest streams of the Mississippi Alluvial Plain

Background Agriculture has greatly influenced water quality, habitats, and fish assemblages in streams of the Mississippi Alluvial Plain(MAP) ecoregion. However, MAP streams have historically been understudied compared to streams in other agricultural regions of the USA. In this study, water quality, habitat, and fish assemblage composition were assessed seasonally(spring, summer, and fall) in eight representative MAP streams located across three U.S. states. The study design included four streams containing highly agricultural watersheds(herein termed “agriculture” streams) and four streams containing mostly forested watersheds(herein termed “forest” streams), which were intended to represent reference conditions for MAP *** In general, forest streams contained significantly better instream and riparian habitats than agriculture streams(P = 0.010–0.040) whereas agriculture streams contained significantly greater levels of primary nutrients(P < 0.001–0.010). Differences between agriculture and forest streams with respect to other physical and chemical variables were intermittent and season dependent. Fish assemblages in agriculture and forest streams were structured primarily along an environmental gradient reflecting instream habitat conditions, water nutrient concentrations, and benthic chlorophyll-a production. Structurally, fish assemblages in both stream types contained many regionally common species, though some species appeared to exhibit affinities for a particular stream type. Functionally, fish assemblages in agriculture streams contained more tolerant species, more omnivores, and fewer insectivores compared to forest stream assemblages, which were nearly all insectivores.
