Study on Force Mechanism for Therapeutic Effect of Pushing Manipulation with One-Finger Meditation Base on Similarity Analysis of Force and Waveform

Objective： To reveal the force mechanism for therapeutic effect of pushing manipulation with one-finger meditation. Methods： A total of 15 participants were recruited in this study and assigned to an expert group, a skilled group and a novice group, with 5 participants in each group. Mechanical signals were collected from a biomechanical testing platform, and these data were further observed via similarity analysis and cluster analysis. Results： Comparing the force waveforms of manipulation revealed that the manipulation forces were similar between the expert group and the skilled group（P〉0.05）. The mean value of vertical force was 9.8 N, and 95% CI rang from 6.37 to 14.70 N, but there were significant differences compared with the novice group（P〈0.05）. The result of overall similarity coefficient cluster analysis showed that two kinds of manipulation forces curves were existed between the expert group and the skilled group. Conclusion： Pushing manipulation with one-finger meditation is a kind of light stimulation manipulation on the acupoint, and force characteristics of double waveforms continuously alternated during manual operation.

Inhibition of Xanthine Oxidase Activity by Gnaphalium Affine Extract

Objective To evaluate the inhibitory effect of Gnaphalium affine extracts on xanthine oxidase(XO) activity in vitro and to analyze the mechanism of this effect. Methods In this in vitro study, Kinetic measurements were performed in 4 different inhibitor concentrations and 5 different xanthine concentrations(60, 100, 200, 300, 400 μmol/L). Dixon and Lineweaver-Burk plot analysis were used to determine Ki values and the inhibition mode for the compounds isolated from Gnaphalium affine extract. Results Four potent xanthine oxidase inhibitors were found in 95% ethanolic(v/v) Gnaphalium affine extract. Among them, the f lavone Eupatilin exhibited the strongest inhibitory effect on XO with a inhibition constant(Ki) of 0.37 μmol/L, lower than the Ki of allopurinol(4.56 mol/L), a known synthetic XO inhibitor. Apigenin(Ki of 0.56 μmol/L, a proportion of 0.0053‰ in Gnaphalium affine), luteolin(Ki of 2.63 μmol/L, 0.0032‰ in Gnaphalium affine) and 5-hydroxy-6,7,3',4'-tetramethoxyflavone(Ki of 3.15 μmol/L, 0.0043‰ in Gnaphalium affine) also contributed to the inhibitory effect of Gnaphalium affine extract on XO activity. Conclusions These results suggest that the use of Gnaphalium affine in the treatment of gout could be attributed to its inhibitory effect on XO. This study provides a rational basis for the traditional use of Gnaphalium affine against gout.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationship between symptom patterns of cold coagulation and blood stasis(CCBS) and microcirculation disturbance. In addition, we determined the efficacy of modified Wenjing decoction(WJD) for the treatment of ***: CCBS was induced in rats with an icewater bath treatment. The ovarian function, microvascular and circulatory status of reproductive organs, and function of local microvascular endothelial cells(VECs) and vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs) were ***: Ovarian dysfunction was observed in the rats with CCBS. It was characterized by the presence of an estrous cycle disorder and a decrease in reproductive hormone levels. Microvascular circulation disorders were associated with an imbalance in vasoconstriction, relaxation substances, nitric oxide, abnormal blood flow in whole blood, and decreased blood flow in the auricle and uterus. VECs were damaged, and VSMCs contracted and proliferated in ovarian and uterine ***: Our findings suggest that the dysfunctional reproductive organs observed in gynecological CCBS may be closely related to the microcirculation disturbance of local tissues, microvascular contraction, and vascular remodeling. Modified WJD can be used to treat CCBS by improving microcirculation in reproductive organs.

Cohort study on the treatment of BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer with integrated chinese and western medicine

BACKGROUND Patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC)have a low incidence rate,poor biological activity,suboptimal response to conventional treatments,and a poor *** the previous cohort study on mCRC conducted by our team,it was observed that integrated chinese and western medicine treatment could significantly prolong the overall survival(OS)of patients with colorectal ***,we further explored the survival benefits in the population with BRAF V600E mutant *** To evaluate the efficacy of integrated chinese and western medicine in the treatment of BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal *** A cohort study was conducted on patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer admitted to Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of chinese Medical Sciences and Traditional chinese medicine Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from January 2016 to December *** patients were divided into two *** A total of 34 cases were included,with 23 in chinese-western medicine cohort(cohort A)and 11 in western medicine cohort(cohort B).The median overall survival was 19.9 months in cohort A and 14.2 months in cohort B,with a statistically significant difference(P=0.038,hazard ratio=0.46).The 1-3-year survival rates were 95.65%(22/23),39.13%(9/23),and 26.09%(6/23)in cohort A,and 63.64%(7/11),18.18%(2/11),and 9.09%(1/11)in cohort B,*** analysis showed statistically significant differences in median OS between the two cohorts in the right colon,liver metastasis,chemotherapy,and first-line treatment subgroups(Pintegrated chinese and western medicine can prolong the survival and reduce the risk of death in patients with BRAF V600E mutant metastatic colorectal cancer,with more pronounced benefits observed in patients with right colon involvement,liver metastasis,combined chemotherapy,and first-line treatment.

Effect of Artemisia annua Extract on Treating Active Rheumatoid Arthritis:A Randomized Controlled Trial

Objective：To investigate the effect and safety of the complementary use of the extract of Artemisia annua L.（EAA） on treating active rheumatoid arthritis（RA）. Methods：A randomized controlled clinical trial was performed. All the 159 participates with active RA were randomly assigned to the control group（80 cases） and EAA group（79 cases） using concealed random allocation method. In the control group, patients were medicated with leflunomide and methotrexate for 48 weeks; and patients in the EAA group were administrated with leflunomide, methotrexate plus EAA（30 g/d）. At the time points of 0, 12, 24 and 48 weeks, the clinical outcome measures, including objective pain score, tenderness score, number of painful joints, number of swollen joints, health assessment questionnaire（HAQ） score for quality of life, levels of serum rheumatoid factor（RF）, anti-cyclic citrullinated protein antibodies（CCP-Ab）, erythrocyte sedimentation rate（ESR）, C reactive protein（CRP）, visual analogue score for pain（VAS）, and the overall efficacy were detected and recorded. Results：The objective pain score, number of painful joints and ESR at 12 weeks, tenderness score and HAQ at 24 weeks, and the tenderness score, number of painfull joints, number of swollen joints, HAQ, CRP, RF and CCP-Ab at 48 weeks were significantly improved in the EAA group compared with the control group（P〈0.01 or P〈0.05）. At 24 and 48 weeks, the overall efficacy of the EAA group was significantly higher than the control group（P〈0.01）. There were significantly higher withdrawal rate of corticosteroids within 12 weeks post-treatment and lower incidence rate of adverse effects in the EAA group compared with the control group（P〈0.01 or P〈0.05）. Conclusion：EAA plus methotrexate and leflunomide were more effective and safer than the routine use of methotrexate and leflunomide in the treatment of active RA.
