Cystic fibrosis(CF)is one of the most common recessive genetic diseases,with a wide spectrum of phenotypes,ranging from infertility to severe pulmonary *** in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator(CFTR)gene are considered the main genetic cause for *** this study,we recruited a consanguineous Iranian pedigree with four male patients diagnosed with congenital unilateral absence of the vas deferens(CUAVD),and one female patient diagnosed with congenital absence of the uterus(CAU).Testicular biopsy of one patient was performed,and hematoxylin and eosin(H and E)staining of testis sections displayed the presence of germ cell types ranging from spermatogonia to mature spermatids,indicating obstructive *** explore the underlying genetic factor in this familial disorder,we therefore performed whole-exome sequencing(WES)on all available family *** data filtration and CFTR haplotype analysis identified compound heterozygous mutations in CFTR among four patients(two CUAVD patients carried p.H949Y and p.L997F,and one CUAVD and the female CAU patient carried p.H949Y and p.I148T).All these mutations were predicted to be deleterious by at least half of the prediction software programs and were confirmed by Sanger *** study reported that CFTR compound heterozygous mutations in a consanguineous Iranian family cause infertility in both sexes.

The effects of comprehensive nursing interventions on sexual functions in young and middle-aged patients with coronary stent implantation

Objective: To study the effects of comprehensive nursing interventions on sexual functions in young and middle-aged patients with coronary stent implantation. Methods: 96 cases of coronary stent implantation were randomly divided into control group and intervention group (experimental group) with each group of 48 cases. The control group received the routine nursing measures after the coronary stent implantation and the experimental group was treated by the comprehensive nursing interventions such as psychological nursing, education of sexual knowledge, playing the full enthusiasm of spouse and appropriate exercise therapy on basis of the routine nursing measures. The two groups were given the questionnaire of brief male sexual function questionnaire (BSFI), Chinese patients with premature ejaculation sexual function score (C-ISFPE) and the international index of erectile function (IIEF-5). The scores of BSFI, C-ISFPE and IIEF-5 were compared between the two groups. Results: There were 29 cases who were satisfied with sexual life on the whole (≤1), 26 cases with different degrees of premature ejaculation symptoms and 21 cases with erectile dysfunctions, which were respectively 27.08%, 30.2% and 21.87% of the total number. Spontaneous activation of hamster oocytes in vitro

Objectives To observe the time of spontaneous activation of hamster oocytes and to find out the early signs of hamster oocytes activation Methods First, 63 hamster oocytes including activated and non activated oocytes (group A) and 51 non activated oocytes (group B) were injected with human sperm and checked for fertilization after 16-18 hours Then, 20 hamster oocytes were cultured in vitro in medium with or without calcium and examined under light microscope every half an hour up to 9 hours Results Under light microscope, hamster oocytes activation were observed to undergo 4 stages: metaphase Ⅱ stage without meiotic spindle, appearance of meiotic spindle near the first polar body, protrusion of oolemma, and complete extrusion of second polar body with pronucleus formation After culture for 1 5 hours in vitro, 30% 40% of the oocytes demonstrated meiotic spindle; but after 9 hours, 50% showed complete activation Culture in medium without calcium showed a little delay in the process of activation The earliest sign of spontaneous activation in hamster oocytes was the appearance of meiotic spindle near the first polar body Although group A and B showed no difference, the damage rate was lower in group B (19 7%±16 6%) than in group A (35 9%±5 7%) ( P =0 08), whereas the fertilization rate (18 3%±10 9%) was higher in group B than in group A (14 2%±8 7%) ( P =0 135) Conclusions Hamster oocytes may be activated spontaneously early after their removal It is important to recognize the earliest sign of spontaneous activation and perform intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) before it happens

Short‐term effect of the prone masturbation training on premature ejaculation

Background:Whether conventional behavioral therapies for premature ejaculation can significantly improve the intravaginal ejaculatory latency time is still *** masturbation is rare and observed in some patients with delayed ***,we tried to verify whether the regular prone masturbation training method had a therapeutic effect on premature ***:From July to December 2018,a total of 21 patients met the enrollment criteria and volunteered to *** were diagnosed with premature ejaculation with an intravaginal ejaculatory latency time of less than 3min and a Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool score greater than *** performed 12‐week prone masturbation ***:Ten patients completed the entire treatment *** mean age of the 10 participants was 30.4±6.1 years,the mean frequency of sexual intercourse was 1.9±0.83 times a week,and the median duration of premature ejaculation was 1.5 *** 3 months of prone masturbation training,the median self‐reported intravaginal ejaculatory latency time significantly increased from 60 to 105 s(p=0.011),and the mean Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool scores decreased from15.0±3.7 to 12.7±3.7 points(p=0.119).Conclusions:The regular prone masturbation training method,as a novel behavioral therapy,probably has a therapeutic effect on premature ejaculation.

Background: Cerebral palsy is the most common chronic motor disability that begins in childhood with the predominant motor abnormality that is spasticity. Objective: The purpose of the present study was to compare the efficacy of oral baclofen and oral tizanidine in reducing spasticity in cerebral palsy patients. Duphaston as a suitable medication for women taking intracytoplasmic sperm injection to treat infertility

Objective:Duphaston is used as an alternative to gonadotropin-releasing hormone(GnRH)antagonists for suppressing premature luteinizing hormone(LH)*** study aimed to compare the efficacy of Duphaston protocols with that of Cetrotide in suppressing the LH ***:In this retrospective cross-sectional study,669 infertile women(aged 25-40 years)were administered recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone(rFSH)from the third day of their menstrual *** the follicular diameter reached 13 to 14 mm,Cetrotide was prescribed orally to the control subjects,also case subjects took Duphaston *** retrieved oocytes were fertilized by an intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI).Results:The levels of FSH,LH,and estradiol did not differ significantly between the groups(P>0.05).However,the findings indicated that Duphaston led to greater oocyte retrieval than Cetrotide(P=0.006).However,the number of mature oocytes and viable embryos in the case subjects did not reach a significant difference compared to that in the control subjects(P>0.05).The number of good-quality embryos(stage 1)was significantly higher in the case subjects(P=0.04).In addition,there is no significant difference in the chemical,clinical pregnancy,implantation rate,and miscarriage rate between both groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Duphaston could be utilized as a suitable medication rather than a GnRH antagonist in women subjected to controlled ovarian hyperstimulation.

Effects of Saikokaryukotsuboreito on Spermatogenesis ant Fertility in Aging Male Mice

Background： Aspermia caused by exogenous testosterone limit its usage in late-onset hypogonadism （LOH） patients desiring fertility. Saikokaryukotsuboreito （SKRBT） is reported to improve serum testosterone and relieve LOH-related symptoms. However, it is unclear whether SKRBT affects fertility. We aimed to examine the effects of SKRBT on spermatogenesis and fertility in aging male mice. Methods： Thirty aging male mice were randomly assigned to three groups, Mice were orally administered with phosphate-buffer solution or SKRBT （300 mg/kg, daily） or received testosterone by subcutaneous injections （10 mg/kg, every 3 days）. Thirty days later, each male mouse was mated with two female mice. All animals were sacrificed at the end of 90 days. lntratesticular testosterone （ITT） levels, quality of sperm, expression of synaptonemal complex protein 3 （SYCP3）, and fertility were assayed. Results： In the SKRBT-treated group, ITT, quality of sperm, and expression of SYCP3 were all improved compared with the control group （ITT： 85.50 ＋ 12.31 ng/g vs. 74.10 ±11.45 ng/g, P = 0.027; sperm number： [ 14.94 ± 4.63] × 106 cells/ml vs. [8.79±4.38] × 106 cells/ml, P = 0.002; sperm motility： 43.16 ± 9.93% vs. 33.51 ± 6.98%, P = 0.015; the number of SYCP3-positive cells/tubule： 77.50 ± 11.01 ng/ml vs. 49.30 - 8.73 ng/ml, P 〈 0.001 ; the expression of SYCP3 protein： 1.23± 0.09 vs. 0.84 ± 0.10, P 〈 0.001 ）, but fertility was not significantly changed （P 〉 0.05, respectively）. Objective:To elucidate the possible role of unfractionated heparin in patients with failed repeated in in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET)and ***:This case control study evaluated the efficacy of the unfractionated heparin in increasing the pregnancy and implantation ratio in women with recurrent IVF-ET ***-six women received in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection(IVF/ICSI)with a record of three or more previous IVF-ET *** were randomly distributed into two *** A(n=43)received unfractionated heparin 5000 IU twice daily,and group B(n=43)did not take any antithrombotic *** abnormalities such as factor桋Leiden(FVL)mutation,methylene tetra hydro folate reductase(MTHFR)mutation and prothrombin mutation(F栻)were ***,body mass index,basal follicular stimulating hormone,basal estradiol,duration of infertility,and number of IVF-ET failures were compared between two ***:45.0%and 17.4%of women were pregnant with and without MTHFR and prothrombin mutation,respectively,when they received unfractionated heparin *** implantation rate was more in group A(12.5%)than group B(4.3%)and differences in the fertilization rate of the two groups were observed(27.7%vs.35.9%).The clinical pregnancy rate per cycle was remarkably more in group A(30.2%)than group B(14.0%).Conclusions:Heparin is a safe and valuable treatment for patients with repeated IVF-ET *** clinical pregnancy and implantation rates are higher in the heparin-treated group in contrast with the control group.
