Trends and Spatial Pattern Analysis of Typhoid and Paratyphoid Fever Incidence — Yunnan Province, China, 1989–2022

Introduction:This study explored the incidence trends and spatial clustering of typhoid and paratyphoid fever(TPF)in Yunnan Province to provide scientific evidence for developing and improving prevention and control ***:Temporal trends were investigated by calculating the annual percent change(APC)and average annual percent change(AAPC),along with their 95%confidence intervals(CIs).The spatial clustering of TPF across Yunnan Province was examined using global Moran’s I and local indicators of spatial association(LISA)***:A total of 206,066 TPF cases were reported in Yunnan Province from 1989 to 2022,with an average annual incidence of 13.98 per 100,000 population and a case fatality rate of 2.5 per 1,*** greatest number of cases was reported during July and *** 25–34-year age group had the highest incidence,and farmers were prominently *** incidence in Yunnan Province showed a significant decrease and spatial *** 2005 to 2022,13 county-level cities/counties/municipal districts in 5 prefectures(cities)in Yunnan Province were identified as statistically significant H-H spatial clusters of TPF incidence.A total of 24 TPF outbreaks were reported in Yunnan Province from 2005 to ***:The incidence of TPF in Yunnan Province showed a significant decrease and spatial *** strategies should focus on highincidence areas,seasons,and populations to reduce the incidence of TPF.

Helicobacter pylori(H pylori),a gastric pathogen,is a major cause of chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer disease,and is an important risk factor for the development of gastric *** of the bacterium from gastric biopsy is essential for the determination of drug resistance of H ***,the isolation rates of H pylori from infected individuals vary from 23.5%to 97% due to a number of factors such as biopsy preparation,cultural environment,medium and the method *** the present case,we found that a prolonged incubation period of up to 19 d allowed successful isolation of H pylori from a patient who received triple therapy that failed to eradicate the bacterium.

To localize inspection robot in an in-service substation costs much. How to discriminate its location among highly similar scenes is the main problem of localizing robot in the substation using vision. A novel approach for visual localization using image retrieval and multi-view geometry is proposed. It is applicable for autonomous inspection of in-service substation without additional modifications of the environment. The experimental results demonstrate the efficiency and reliability of our approach. They have been further discussed by means of parameters for image description, number of neighbouring images for coordinates estimation, training dataset selection and performance evaluation. They verified that our approach is a cost-effective solution to robot localization in in-service substation.

Objective Mycobacterium avium （M. avium） and Mycobacterium intracellulare （M. intracellulare） are the major causative agents of nontuberculous mycobacteria （NTM）-related pulmonary infections. However, little is known about the differences in drug susceptibility profiles between these two species. Methods A total of 393 NTM isolates were collected from Shanghai Pulmonary Disease Hospital. Sequencing of partial genes was performed to identify the strains at species level. The minimum inhibitory concentration （MIC） was used to evaluate the drug susceptibility against 20 antimicrobial agents. Variable number of tandem repeat （VNTR） typing was conducted to genotype these two species. Results A total of 173 （44.0%） M. avium complex （MAC） isolates were identified, including 41 （10.4%） M. avium isolates and 132 （33.6%） M. intracellulare isolates. Clarithromycin and amikacin were the two most effective agents against MAC isolates. The Hunter-Gaston Discriminatory Index （HGDI） values for VNTR typing of M. avium and M. intracellulare isolates were 0.993 and 0.995, respectively. Levofloxacin resistance was more common among the unclustered strains than among the clustered strains of M. intracellulare. Conclusion M. intrecellulare was the most common NTM species in China. Clarithromycin and amikacin had high antimicrobial activities against MAC. VNTR typing of MAC isolates revealed a high discriminatory power. Levofloxacin resistance was associated with unclustered strains of M. intracellulare.

Group A streptococcus （GAS） causes a wide range of diseases in the human population. GAS diseases are more common in children than in adults, with clinical manifestations ranging from pharyngitis and impetigo to invasive infections and post streptococcal sequelae, such as acute rheumatic fever and acute post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis[1]. GAS harbors a host of virulence factors that contribute to its complex pathogenicity and differences in the disease severity and frequency. M protein, one of the major virulence factors, is encoded by the emm gene induces a type of specific host immune response and confers antiphagocytic properties.
