Dear Editor,Recently,the phase III Asian XELIRI(capecitabine plus irinotecan)ProjecT(AXEPT)study demonstrated the non-inferiority of modified capecitabine plus irinotecan(mXELIRI)±bevacizumab(Bev)to fluorouracil plus leucovorin with irinotecan(FOLFIRI)±Bev in terms of overall survival(OS)as a second-line treatment for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer[1,2].In the past decade,oral prodrugs of fluorouracil-containing regimens have shown similar efficacies to intravenous fluorouracilcontaining regimens.

Although many countries have controlled the pandemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) through strict management, there are still many countries with record-breaking numbers of new cases. Therefore, it is very important to develop a vaccine that can cause wide cross reactivity in clinical trials. At present, more than 90 vaccines are entering clinical trials and progressing smoothly, including inactivated vaccines, adenovirus-vectored vaccines and other types of vaccines. Here, we review and summarize the efficacy and potential threats of a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. We reviewed whole-virus vaccines, adenovirus-subunit vaccines and recombinant protein vaccines and discussed the positive and negative consequences of a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. However, there are still heated debates on the mechanism, effectiveness, and breadth of protection. In conclusion, this study can predict the risk of new coronavirus outbreaks in the future by discussing the research and development status of new coronavirus vaccines in china and other countries. Looking to the future, it is important to mine the large amount of data generated in clinical trials of universal new coronavirus vaccines to ensure that these vaccine programs are equally useful in the face of new coronavirus mutations.

Background: Capecitabine and irinotecan combination therapy(XELIRI) has been examined at various dose levels to treat metastatic colorectal cancer(m CRC). Recently, in the Association of Medical oncology of the German Cancer Society(AIO) 0604 trial, tri?weekly XELIRI plus bevacizumab, with reduced doses of irinotecan(200 mg/m^2 on day 1) and capecitabine(1600 mg/m^2 on days 1–14), repeated every 3 weeks, has shown favorable tolerability and eicacy which were comparable to those of capecitabine and oxaliplatin(XELOX) plus bevacizumab. The doses of capecit?abine and irinotecan in the AIO trial are considered optimal. In a phase I/II study, XELIRI plus bevacizumab(BIX) as second?line chemotherapy was well tolerated and had promising eicacy in japanese ***: The Asian XELIRI Projec T(AXEPT) is an East Asian collaborative, open?labelled, randomized, phase Ⅲ clinical trial which was designed to demonstrate the non?inferiority of XELIRI with or without bevacizumab versus standard FOLFIRI(5?fluorouracil, leucovorin, and irinotecan combination) with or without bevacizumab as second?line chemo?therapy for patients with m CRC. Multivariate Analysis of Prognosis in Patients with Pancreatic Cancer

Objective Pancreatic cancer is a highly malignant digestive system tumor. The prognosis of pancreatic cancer may be affected by many factors. But there is a lack of research on the multivariate analysis of prognostic factors of pancreatic cancer. This study aimed to explore the factors that multivariate influence the prognosis of pancreatic cancer. Methods We conducted a retrospective cohort study using electronic medical record database from The First hospital of jilin university from January 2014 to December 2016. Clinical information, such as TNM stage, serum tumor markers, serum albumin and the patient-generated subjective global assessment (PG-SGA), were collected. Kaplan- Meier method was used to calculate survival rate. The survival curve was compared with the Log-rank test. A multivariate analysis was performed for each prognostic factor using the Cox proportional hazards model. The significance level was 0.05. Results 1. The median overall survival time (OS) of 493 patients was 10 months. The 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year cumulative survival rates were 41.5%, 20.6%, and 9.9%, respectively. Univariate survival analysis revealed that TNM stage (P < 0.001), treatment regimen (P < 0.001), CA125 (P < 0.001), the level of serum albumin (P = 0.014), and nutritional status (P = 0.006) were significantly correlated with prognosis of pancreatic cancer. COX proportional hazards regression model showed that TNM stage (P = 0.038), Carbonhydrate antigen 125 (CA125)(P = 0.003) and the level of serum albumin were independent factors affecting the median OS. The prognosis of patients with Ⅳ stage, elevated levels of serum albumin group and elevated levels of CA125 group were poor. 2. Seventy-three patients with pancreatic cancer underwent surgical resection. The median postoperative survival time was 28 months. The 1-year, 2-year, and 3-year cumulative survival rates were 74.4%, 47.7%, and 21.4%, respectively. Univariate analysis revealed that TNM stage (P = 0.032), pathologic

The advent of tyrosine kinase inhibitor(TKI)therapy markedly improved the outcome of patients with chronic-phase chronic myeloid leukemia(CML).However,the poor prognosis of patients with advanced-phase CML and the lifelong dependency on TKIs are remaining challenges;therefore,an effective therapeutic has been *** BCR–ABL p210 fusion protein’s junction region represents a leukemia-specific neoantigen and is thus an attractive target for antigen-specific T-cell ***–ABL p210 fusion-region-specific CD4+T-helper(Th)cells possess antileukemic potential,but their function remains *** this study,we established a BCR–ABL p210 b3a2 fusion-region-specific CD4+Th-cell clone(b3a2-specific Th clone)and examined its dendritic cell(DC)-mediated antileukemic *** b3a2-specific Th clone recognized the b3a2 peptide in the context of HLA-DRB1*09:01 and exhibited a Th1 *** of this clone through T-cell antigen receptor stimulation triggered DC maturation,as indicated by upregulated production of CD86 and IL-12p70 by DCs,which depended on CD40 ligation by CD40L expressed on b3a2-specific Th ***,in the presence of HLA-A*24:02-restricted Wilms tumor 1(WT1)235–243 peptide,DCs conditioned by b3a2-specific Th cells efficiently stimulated the primary expansion of WTI-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes(CTLs).The expanded CTLs were cytotoxic toward WT1235–243-peptide-loaded HLA-A*24:02-positive cell lines and exerted a potent antileukemic effect in ***,the b3a2-specific Th-clone-mediated antileukemic CTL responses were strongly inhibited by both TKIs and interferon-α.Our findings indicate a crucial role of b3a2-specific Th cells in leukemia antigen-specific CTL-mediated immunity and provide an experimental basis for establishing novel CML immunotherapies.

Background: The nutritional support after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) has not been well established due to the scarcity of clinical trials. To conduct international clinical trials in Asia, we performed the questionnaire survey to investigate the current standard of nutritional support after HSCT. Method: We sent the questionnaire to the physicians nominated by the Asia Pacific Blood and Marrow Transplantation (APBMT) members of each country/ region. Result: We received 15 responses from 7 different countries/regions. The target calorie amount is 1.0 - 1.3 × basal energy expenditure (BEE) in 11 institutes when partial parenteral nutrition is used. When total parenteral nutrition (TPN) is used, the target calorie amount is 1.0 - 1.3 × BEE in 9 institutes and 1.3 - 1.5 × BEE in 4 institutes. Lipid emulsion is routinely used in 12 institutes. Multivitamins and trace elements are routinely added to TPN used in most institutes. It is still uncommon to use the immunonutrition. Blood glucose levels are routinely monitored in all institutes, but the target range varies (<110 in 2 institutes, <150 in 4 institutes, and <200 in 8 institutes). Conclusions: Basic nutritional support is similar in participating institutes. However, the target glucose level varies and the use of immunonutrition is rather rare. These points can be the theme of future clinical trials.
