Breast cancer is the predominant form of carcinoma among women worldwide,with 70%of advanced patients developing bone metastases,with a high mortality *** this sense,the bone marrow(BM)mesenchymal stem/stromal cells(MSCs)are critical for BM/bone homeostasis,and failures in their functionality,transform the BM into a premetastatic niche(PMN).We previously found that BM-MSCs from advanced breast cancer patients(BCPs,infiltrative ductal carcinoma,stage III-B)have an abnormal *** work aims to study some of the metabolic and molecular mechanisms underlying MSCs shift from a normal to an abnormal profile in this group of patients.A comparative analysis was undertaken,which included self-renewal capacity,morphology,proliferation capacity,cell cycle,reactive oxygen species(ROS)levels,and senescence-associatedβ‑galactosidase(SA‑β‑gal)staining of BMderived MSCs isolated from 14 BCPs and 9 healthy volunteers(HVs).Additionally,the expression and activity of the telomerase subunit TERT,as well as telomere length,were *** levels of pluripotency,osteogenic,and osteoclastogenic genes(OCT-4,SOX-2,M-CAM,RUNX-2,BMP-2,CCL-2,M-CSF,and IL-6)were also *** results showed that MSCs from BCPs had reduced,self-renewal and proliferation *** cells also exhibited inhibited cell cycle progression and phenotypic changes,such as an enlarged and flattened ***,there was an increase in ROS and senescence levels and a decrease in the functional capacity of TERT to preserve telomere *** also found an increase in pro-inflammatory/pro-osteoclastogenic gene expression and a decrease in pluripotency gene *** conclude that these changes could be responsible for the abnormal functional profile that MSCs show in this group of patients.

BACKGROUND The outcomes of Hodgkin's lymphoma(HL)in Mexico have not been widely *** and affordable treatments have been adopted in middleincome *** The aim was to evaluate long-used therapies for HL in Mexico in a long-term *** In a 34-year time period,88 patients with HL were treated at a single institution in *** were treated with adriamycin bleomycin vinblastine and dacarbazine(ABVD)or mechlorethamine,vincristine,procarbazine,and prednisone(MOPP).Relapsed or refractory patients were given ifosfamide,carboplatin,and etoposide(ICE)followed by autologous or allogeneic stem cell *** Thirty-seven women and 51 men were included;the median age was 29 *** were followed for a mean of 128 *** 310-mo overall survival(OS)was 83%for patients treated with MOPP and 88%for those treated with *** OS of patients who received autologous stem cell transplantation was 76%(330 mo)vs 93%(402 mo)in those who did *** HL may be less aggressive in Mexican population than in *** chemotherapy renders acceptable results,regardless of clinical stage.

视黄酸是非特异性分化诱导药物,在体外它对正常细胞及白血病细胞有明显的作用.视黄酸增加细胞因子诱导的粒系-巨噬系及红系祖细胞的集落形成.而且,体外研究显示,视黄酸抑制人白血病细胞克隆生长且诱导其分化.对视黄酸的反应由核受体——视黄酸受体(RAR )和视黄酸X受体(RXR)介导. 骨髓增生异常综合征(MDS)是克隆性疾病,以无效造血及后期常常发展为急性白血病为发病特征.原发性MDS中无效造血机制尚不清楚,但可能涉及到抑制性细胞因子的抑制作用、自发性凋亡增强,以及由于生长因子受体或受体后信号传导通路失常而导致对生长因子反应的缺陷,使所有三系造血的细胞分化受阻.

Myeloproliferative neoplasms(MPNs)occur due to the abnormal proliferation of one or more terminal myeloid cell lines in peripheral *** suffering from MPNs display a high burden of cardiovascular risk factors,and thrombotic events are often the cause of death in this population of ***,we provide a brief overview of dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome and their epidemiology in MPNs and examine the common molecular mechanisms between dyslipidemia,metabolic syndrome,and MPNs,with a special focus on cardio-vascular risk,atherosclerosis,and thrombotic ***,we investigate the impact of dyslipidemia and metabolic syndrome on the occurrence and survival of thrombosis in MPN patients,as well as the management of dyslipidemia in MPNs,and the impact of MPN treatment on serum lipid concentrations,particularly as side/adverse effects reported in the context of clinical trials.
