The diagnosis of asthma requires the presence of episodic respiratory difficulties characterized by variable and reversible airway obstruction. It has a high prevalence worldwide and is traditionally considered to be an allergic disease. Most cases are responsive to treatment with bronchodilators and anti-inflammatories, as recommendedby national and international guidelines; however, appro-ximately 10% of asthmatic patients are refractory even to optimal therapy. Gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD) is a common disorder in asthmatic patients and the two disorders may be linked pathophysiologically. Here we review data from preliminary studies that suggest asthma could be induced or exacerbated by gastroesophageal reflux. The optimal strategies for the diagnosis of GERDrelated asthma and its therapy are still debated. However, there is evidence to suggest that antireflux treatment is effective and practical for asthmatic patients with welldefined reflux disease.

Objective： To observe the adjuvant analgesic efficacy of Han＇s Acupoint Nerve Stimulator （HANS） in opioid tolerant patients with cancer pain. Methods： A prospective non-controlled study was conducted. Opioid tolerant patients with cancer pain were enrolled and treated with both routinely analgesics and adjuvant HANS （2/100 Hz for 30 min/d, 5 d on and 2 d off for two weeks）. Cancer pain, quality of life （QOL）, anxiety and depression were assessed before enrollment and on d 8 and d 15 with the BPI-C, EORTC QLQ-C30, and self-rating anxiety scale （SAS）/ self-rating depression scale （SDS）, respectively; the therapeutic frequency of breakthrough pain （BP） and daily opioid dose were also recorded. Results： Totally 47 patients meeting the inclusion criteria participated in this study; 43 patients completed the two-week treatment and assessment. The mean scores of patient＇s ＂worst＂ and ＂least＂ pain intensity assessed with BPI-C decreased significantly on d 8 and d 15; the therapeutic frequency of BP also significantly decreased; but the average daily dose of opioids did not change significantly. For the nine symptoms in EORTC QLQ-C30 assessment, the mean scores of pain, fatigue, constipation and insomnia were significantly lower on d 8 and d 15 compared with baseline; the mean scores of the overall health status, nausea/vomiting and the incidence rates of both anxiety and depression also decreased significantly on d 15. Conclusions： To opioid tolerant patients with cancer pain, adjuvant treatment with HANS could improve pain release and patients＇ QOL by decreasing the severity of pain, fatigue, constipation, insomnia and other concomitant symptoms; it could also decrease the incidence rates of anxiety and depression.

OBJECTIVE To study the changes in the matrix metalloproteinases-2 and 9 （MMP2, MMP9） induced by ^60Co γ-ray external irradiation of human prostate cancer PC-3 cells. METHODS Human prostate cancer PC-3 cells were irradiated with different doses of ^60Co γ-rays. Cell migration and invasiveness were evaluated and the expression of MMP2, and MMP9 was investigated by RT-PCR, Western blotting and flow cytometry（FCM）. RESULTS Irradiation enchances invasive protential at the doses of 1,3 and 5 Gy,whereas it significantly inhibits cell migration. CONCLUSION The different doses of ^60Co γ-ray external irradiation for prostate cancer may have different effects through the changes of MMP2, and MMP9 expression.

Gastroesophageal reﬂux disease(GERD)was diagnosed and fundoplication was performed,which relieved the *** paper explores the effect of fundoplication on GERD-related respiratory *** January 2007 to October 2008,64 patients with respiratory symptoms related to GERD were consecutively enrolled for laparoscopic *** these,60 patients had respiratory symptoms mainly combined with gastroesophageal reﬂux,while four had respiratory symptoms *** patients had GERD conﬁrmed,and medical treatment provided before surgery resulted in an insufﬁciently favorable effect or even producing further *** the patients were requested toﬁll a questionnaire form regarding the severity of symptoms and their medication so as to make an evaluation score for the *** outcome of respiratory symptoms after surgery was as follows:excellent in 23 cases(35.9%);good in 28(43.8%);fair in 5(7.8%);poor in 8(12.5%).The mean respiratory symptom score decreased from 6.3�2.65 to 2.33�*** fundoplication can be an effective treatment for the majority of patients with GERD-related respiratory symptoms.

Background Gastroesophageal reflux disease with extra-esophageal symptoms, especially those with respiratory distress was attracting more and more attention. The related mechanisms were still in controversy. The purpose of the work was to explore airway inflammation triggered by gastroesophageal reflux. Methods Sixteen Sprague-Dawley rats were used as study group and 9 as control. In the study group, a plastic extender with a trumpet-shaped distal end was inserted into the lower esophagus to dilate the cardia, the pylorus was ligated. One ml of 0.1 mol/L hydrochloric acid was injected into the stomach. While a simple laparotomy was performed for control animals. All animals from two groups were sacrificed 24 hours after operation. Then tracheotomy was carried and the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid was collected in all animals. Cells in the fluid were counted and levels of interleukin （IL）-5, -6, -8 in it were measured. Results Compared with control group, the study group presented a neutrophil pattern of airway inflammation and an elevated concentration of IL-5, -6, -8 with no significant difference regarding eosinophil count. Conclusion The gastroesophageal reflux-triggered airway inflammation is characterized by a neutrophilic airway inflammation which differed from that caused by asthma, and enhanced levels of IL-5, -6 and -8, which are similar to that caused by asthma.

Modeling and Simulation for Complex Repairable System with Built-in Test Equipment

A high linearity flat conversion gain down-conversion mixer for 3.1.9GHz Ultra-wide Band(UWB) receiver is presented in this *** mixer is designed based on Gilbert *** adopts source degeneration resistors and current injection method to improve the linearity. Shunt-peaking technique and tuning inductors are used to flat conversion *** and fabricated with SMIC 0.18μm CMOS technology,the mixer achieves high linearity with third-order intercept point(ⅡP3) of better than 12.4 dBm,flat conversion gain of 4.9±0.2dB, while consuming only 5.1 mA from a 1,8V power supply. The core area is 920 X 840μm.

Through theoretical analysis of reliability and simulation analysis of dispersivi of d a/ d N based on Monte Carlo method, the distribution function of n and c was set up. Meanwhile, the distribution of critical opening displacement(COD)δ c was defined by the use of coherent coefficient method, and the probabilistic model of defects assessment of military special vessel was built. Thereby the theoretical and practical fundamental research on evaluation of reliability of military high pressure vessels was carried out.
