Osteoarthritis(OA)represents an enduring and widespread global burden,causing significant morbidity and disability,whose pathology is characterized by persistent inflammation,progressive cartilage degeneration,ab-normal bone homeostasis,and excessive synovial hyperplasia,resulting from its complex ***,current therapeutic approaches for OA remain suboptimal,prompting increased interest in ad-vanced nanotechnology as a means to enhance therapeutic *** recent years,significant progress has been made in the development of versatile nanoplatforms designed to the specific microenvironment of OA,resulting in promising results and introducing the concept of“OA nanomedicine”.Compared to the conventional therapies like non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs),OA nanomedicine offers precise targeted,controllable and personalized ways for OA therapy,contributing to better ***,a comprehensive review consoli-dating the“OA nanomedicine”is currently absent from ***,in this review,we aim to unravel the key pathological and microenvironmental characteristics of OA while summarizing the properties and advantages of nanosystems possessing microenvironment-reprogramming capabilities for OA ***,we make a retro-spection of the features of OA pathology and OA ***,we provide an overview of the advances in OA ***,we discuss the present challenges associated with OA nanomedicine and provide insights into its future prospects from a clinical-translational *** doing so,this review can foster and propel the successful development of OA nanomedicine,addressing the unmet needs in OA therapy.

Due to many uncertain factors,parameter values in many microorganism cultivation systems are affected to a greater or lesser extent by environmental *** this paper,the authors develop a stochastic turbidostat model that considers white noise,formulate and analyze dynamical behavior for the stochastic *** authors obtain the existence and uniqueness of globally positive *** conditions of the extinction for the system are *** the uniformly elliptic condition can fail to satisfy,the existence of the stationary distribution of the system is proved by using Markov semigroups *** speaking,the existence of stationary distribution suggests that microorganism will exist for a long *** analytical results are tested and verified by numerical simulations,which evaluate the influence of white noise on the dynamics of microorganism.

Traditional agroecological knowledge and practices:The drivers and opportunities for adaptation actions in the northern region of Ghana

Agroecological practices are promoted as a more proactive approach than conventional agriculture to achieving a collective global response to climate change and variability while building robust and resilient agricultural systems to meet food needs and protect the integrity of *** is relatively limited evidence on the key traditional agroecological knowledge and practices adopted by smallholder farmers,the factors that influence smallholder farmers’decision to adopt these practices,and the opportunities it presents for building resilient agricultural *** a multi-scale mixed method approach,we conducted key informant interviews(n=12),focus group discussions(n=5),and questionnaire surveys(N=220)to explore the traditional agroecological knowledge and practices,the influencing factors,and the opportunities smallholder farmers presented for achieving resilient agricultural *** findings suggest that smallholder farmers employ a suite of traditional agroecological knowledge and practices to enhance food security,combat climate change,and build resilient agricultural *** most important traditional agroecological knowledge and practices in the study area comprise cultivating leguminous crops,mixed crop-livestock systems,and crop rotation,with Relative Importance Index(RII)values of 0.710,0.708,and 0.695,*** is reported that the choice of these practices by smallholder farmers is influenced by their own farming experience,access to market,access to local resources,information,and expertise,and the perceived risk of climate ***,the results further show that improving household food security and nutrition,improving soil quality,control of pest and disease infestation,and support from NonGovernmental Organizations(NGOs)and local authorities are opportunities for smallholder farmers in adopting traditional agroecological knowledge and practices for achieving resilient agricultural *** findings call into questi

Estimation of Urban Green Cover Changes in Colombo Municipal Area over Ten Years Using Remote Sensing Techniques

Colombo is the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, with a high population, buildings, and ***, it is vital to observe the spatial distribution of vegetation types and changes in the green cover of Colombo city to identify priority areas to improve green cover. This study was carried out to estimate the changes in green cover in Colombo Municipal Area(CMA) and its postal zones over 10 years using remote sensing techniques. The green cover was categorized into trees, shrubs, Play-grounds(PG)/Grasslands, wetlands, rooftops, and Ipomoea cover. Accordingly, total green cover increased up to 26.17% from 22.36% during the period of 2012–2022. During the past decade,except for the PG/Grasslands, all other vegetation types have been reduced. Five of the 15 postal zones in the CMA’s green cover have decreased during the past 10 years, including Colombo 04, 05,06, 09, and 13. The highest green cover was recorded in Colombo 07, while the lowest green cover was present in Colombo 11. The outcome of the study emphasizes that CMA is moving towards greening and sustainability even with the expansion of built-up areas and urban populations.

Rice stem lodging properties and bending modeling under the influence of circadian temperature difference

Under diurnal temperature stress,the vascular bundle content of mature rice stems will change which will cause a change in the modulus of ***,the rice stems will collapse with the reduction in bending resistance because of the change in the modulus of *** order to reveal the distribution of vascular bundle gradients in rice stems under different climatic temperatures and explore the locations where stems are prone to bending and the form of stem damage,this study established a model of stem stiffness under free loading based on observing microstructure of the *** lodging characteristics of rice stems was explored seldom in different environmental temperatures from a micro structure of rice ***,the statistical analysis and t-tests were carried out on stems 1 to 4 in combination for cantilever bending tests at room temperature on stem internodes 3,versus three-point bending tests at-10℃ to 65℃ temperature *** showed that the bending resistance of the stem can be well predicted by using the vascular bundle distribution regression model and the variable stiffness mechanical *** bending resistance of No.3 stem was established by using the results obtained from the three-point bending test in a temperature range between 10℃-65℃.The correction coefficient TF of stem bending resistance under temperature difference induced stress was established based on the Gauss regression *** analysis showed that the bending resistance of No.3 stem was relatively large in a temperature range of 16℃-34℃.This study elucidated the variations of the mechanical properties of rice stems under temperature difference induced stress and provided a theoretical foundation for understanding the lodging characteristics of rice during mechanized harvesting.

Starch digestion rate and location in the gastrointestinal tract(GIT)are critical for human *** review aims to present a comprehensive summary on our current understanding of physiological,biochemical,anatomical and geometrical factors of human digestive system that are related to in vivo starch *** is shown that all digestive compartments including mouth,stomach,small intestine,and large intestine play critical roles in regulating the overall starch digestion process.A proper investigation of starch digestion pattern should thus be based on the consideration of all these *** biological factors are summarized as oral mastication and salivation,gastric emptying and motility,small intestinal enzymes and motility,large intestinal resistant starch(RS)-microbiota interactions and gut-brain feedback control,as well as glucose adsorption and hormonal feedback ***,connections among these biological factors in determining starch digestive behaviors remain *** is due to the inherent complexity of human GIT anatomy,motility and biochemical conditions,as well as ethical,financial and technical issues in conducting clinical *** technological and scientific efforts from both clinical studies and in vitro simulation models are required for a better understanding of in vivo starch digestion behaviors.

Exploring Motor Imagery EEG: Enhanced EEG Microstate Analysis with GMD-Driven Density Canopy Method

The analysis of microstates in EEG signals is a crucial technique for understanding the spatiotemporal dynamics of brain electrical *** methods such as Atomic Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering(AAHC),K-means clustering,Principal Component Analysis(PCA),and Independent Component Analysis(ICA)are limited by a fixed number of microstate maps and insufficient capability in cross-task feature *** these limitations,this study introduces a global Map Dissimilarity(GMD)-driven density canopy K-means clustering *** innovative approach autonomously determines the optimal number of EEG microstate topographies and employs Gaussian kernel density estimation alongside the GMD index for dynamic modeling of EEG *** this advanced algorithm,the study analyzes the Motor Imagery(MI)dataset from the GigaScience database,*** findings reveal six distinct microstates during actual right-hand movement and five microstates across other task conditions,with microstate C showing superior performance in all task *** imagined movement,microstate A was significantly *** with existing algorithms indicates a significant improvement in clustering performance by the refined method,with an average Calinski-Harabasz Index(CHI)of 35517.29 and a Davis-Bouldin Index(DBI)average of ***,an information-theoretical analysis of the microstate sequences suggests that imagined movement exhibits higher complexity and disorder than actual *** utilizing the extracted microstate sequence parameters as features,the improved algorithm achieved a classification accuracy of 98.41%in EEG signal categorization for motor imagery.A performance of 78.183%accuracy was achieved in a four-class motor imagery task on the BCI-IV-2a *** results demonstrate the potential of the advanced algorithm in microstate analysis,offering a more effective tool for a deeper understanding of the spatiotemporal features of EE
