Stature Estimation from Body Dimensions in Han Population of Southern China

Stature estimation is widely used for individual identification in forensic *** studies have proposed several regression equations derived from a single population for this ***,this may not be suitable for other populations because of different hereditary and environmental *** this study,stature estimation equations for southern China Han population have been *** study was conducted on a sample population of 121 men and women aged 18–25 years.A total of 19 parameters,including stature,head,torso,and parts of upper limbs and lower limbs,were measured according to standard anthropometric ***,the anterior superior spine–malleolus medialis line showed the highest correlation coefficient(r=0.817)and was the most reliable predictor(R^(2)=0.667)in men,while the best predictor for women was total leg length(R^(2)=0.746)with the highest correlation coefficient(r=0.863).The regression analysis results via multiple predictors showed a high accuracy in stature ***,the analysis of multiple regression predictors showed that the dimensions of lower limbs were more reliable for stature estimation compared to head,torso,and upper limb *** study provided equations of stature estimation for southern China Han population which can be useful in cases of dismembered body.

Previous research has found that electrical conductivity(EC),an important index to predict meat freshness and shelflife,is very promising for estimating the late postmortem interval(PMI).However,whether it has potential use in the early PMI has not been fully studied *** test this possibility in the present study,EC of three internal organs of rat liver,spleen,and kidney were determined within 24 postmortem hows,and then,EC changes at different PMIs were carefully *** overall results showed that EC of liver and spleen increased significantly with PMI while EC of kidney had minor changes during the same ***,significant linear positive correlations between EC of liver and spleen and PMI were found and the coefficients of their regression functions were R^(2)=0.98 and R^(2)=0.95,*** can be concluded that determination of EC in certain internal organs such as liver and spleen may be a potential tool in the early PMI ***,more researches on its influencing factors are needed to facilitate its final use in practice.

Penile hypersensitivity plays an important role in premature ejaculation （PE）, but differences in penile sensitivity among subtypes of PE are unknown. Therefore, we compared penile sensory thresholds in PE subtypes of lifelong and acquired PE, PE with and without erectile dysfunction （ED）, PE with an intravaginal ejaculation latency time 〈1 min and 〉1 min, and PE with and without orgasmic pleasure perceptual dysfunction. During August 2014 to January 2016, 136 patients with PE were included. Penile warm, cold, and vibratory thresholds were measured. Data of clinical characteristics, sexual life, Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool （PEDT） score, and the 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function （IIEF-5） score were collected. Vibratory thresholds of the PE with ED group were higher in the right coronal sulcus （median amplitude： 4.92 vs 3.65 μm, P= 0.02） and the right penile shaft （median amplitude： 3.87 vs 3.30 μm, P = 0.03）, while differences in penile sensory thresholds between other subtypes were not significant. The median PEDT score was lower in the PE without ED group （12 vs 14, P 〈 0.001）. The IIEF-5 and PEDT scores were negatively correlated （r = -0.29, P 〈 0.001）. Patients with orgasmic pleasure perceptual dysfunction had a lower median IIEF-5 score （20 vs 21, P = 0.02）. Patients with PE and ED had lower penile sensitivity, and ED was associated with more severe symptoms and weaker orgasmic pleasure perception. In men with PE, management of comorbid ED is necessary. In case of side effects in erectile function, topical anesthetics should be cautiously used in men with PE and ED.

There is a dearth of information on the mutual interaction between metal intoxication and adipocere ***,40 adult female albino rats were distributed into two equal groups,one used as control while the other orally administered single dose of cadmium chloride(CdCl_(2))225mg/kg·bw(LD_(min)).Control group was killed by cervical *** of dead rats of both groups were subjected for determination of iodine value and estimation of cadmium(Cd)residues while the other half of both groups were submerged in opened glass container previously filled with 4L dechlorinated tap water kept in closed room with an open air access(one cadaver/container).Gross morphological changes of submerged cadavers were recorded weekly along the *** the end of the experiment,after 3months,samples were collected again for iodine value determination and estimation of Cd *** obtained results revealed the depressant effect of Cd toxicity on development of *** residues were found in different tissues of cadavers at time of death with the highest amount in the intestines followed by the liver and kidneys,then lungs,adipose tissue,muscles,and finally the *** 3months of water submersion,tissues exhibited significant decrease in the amount of Cd residues but to a limit that was still *** study concluded the possibility of detection of Cd residues even after adipocere ***,it shed light on the possibility of the interference of environmental pollution with the natural rate of decomposition especially adipocere formation.

Long-time Fulvic Acid Supplementation Modulates Hydroxylysyl Glycosylation of Collagen in Mice

In order to investigate the impact of fulvic acid (FA) on the hydroxylysyl glycosylation in collagen bio-synthesis, 40 NMRI mice were divided into two groups (n=20 in each group, consisting 10 females and 10 males). The animal was maintained for two generations by different diets: control group with normal water and food and study group with water containing 30mg/L FA and normal food. The second generation of the animal was slaughtered, and the biochemical parameters of collagen content and the degree of collagen hydroxylysyl glycosylation in skin, rib and tibia were detected by biochemical methods. The mean value of collagen in the study group was increased slightly, and no significant difference between study group and control group was found (P> 0.05), but the content of glucose-glactose-hydroxylysine (GGH) was significantly decreased in the study group in comparison with the control group (P<0.01). It was suggested that through the decrease of GGH 30 mg/L FA could inhibit the activity of galactosyl-hydroxylysylglucosyl-transferase and further disturb the post-translational modification of collagen intracellularly.
