Until now, significant healthcare challenges and growing urgent clinical requirements remain incompletely addressed by presently available biomedical materials. This is due to their inadequate mechanical compatibility, suboptimal physical and chemical properties, susceptibility to immune rejection, and concerns about long-term biological safety. As an alternative, liquid metal(LM) opens up a promising class of biomaterials with unique advantages like biocompatibility, flexibility, excellent electrical conductivity,and ease of functionalization. However, despite the unique advantages and successful explorations of LM in biomedical fields, widespread clinical translations and applications of LM-based medical products remain limited. This article summarizes the current status and future prospects of LM biomaterials, interprets their applications in healthcare, medical imaging, bone repair, nerve interface, and tumor therapy, *** to translate LM materials into medicine and obstacles encountered in practices are *** that, we outline a blueprint for LM clinics, emphasizing their potential in making new-generation artificial organs. Last, the core challenges of LM biomaterials in clinical translation, including bio-safety,material stability, and ethical concerns are also discussed. Overall, the current progress, translational medicine bottlenecks, and perspectives of LM biomaterials signify their immense potential to drive future medical breakthroughs and thus open up novel avenues for upcoming clinical practices.

Therapeutic targeting FOxO3A(a forkhead transcription factor)represents a prom-ising strategy to suppress acute myeloid leukemia(AML).However,the effective inhibitors that target FOXO3A are lacking and the adaptive response signaling weakens the cytotoxic effect of FOxO3A depletion on AML ***,we show that FOxO3A deficiency induces a compensa-tory response involved in the reactive activation of mTOR that leads to signaling rebound and adaptive *** metabolism acts downstream of mTOR to provoke activa-tion of JNK/c-JUN via reactive oxygen species(ROS).At the molecular level,FOXO3A directly binds to the promoter of G protein gamma subunit 7(GNG7)and preserves its expression,while GNG7 interacts with mTOR and restricts phosphorylated activation of ***,combinatorial inhibition of FOXO3A and mTOR show a synergistic cytotoxic effect on AML cells and prolongs survival in a mouse model of *** a structure-based virtual screening,we report one potent small-molecule FOxO3A inhibitor(Gardenoside)that exhibits a strong effect of anti-FOXO3A DNA *** synergizes with rapamycin to substantially reduce tumor burden and extend survival in AML patient-derived xenograft *** results demonstrate that mTOR can mediate adaptive resistance to FOxO3A inhibition and validate a combinatorial approach for treating AML.

While a plethora of studies has been conducted to explore demotivation and its impact on mental health in second language(L2)education,scanty research focuses on demotivation in L2 speaking ***,little research explores the measures to quantify L2 speaking *** present two-phase study attempts to develop and validate an English Speaking Demotivation Scale(ESDS).To this end,an independent sample of 207 Chinese tertiary learners of English as a foreign language(EFL)participated in the development phase,and another group of 188 Chinese EFL learners was recruited for the validation of the *** Factor Analysis(EFA)and Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA)were employed to determine the factor structure of the *** EFA results revealed a six-factor solution with Teacher-related Factors in Learning Spoken English(TFLSE),Interest and Valence in Learning Spoken English(IVLSE),Self-efficacy in Learning Spoken English(SELSE),Negative Peer Influence in Learning Spoken English(NPILSE),Undesirable Environment for Learning Spoken English(UELSE),and Negative Influence of Assessment and Learning Materials in speaking class(NIALM).In the validation phase,Confirmatory Factor Analysis(CFA)was performed to validate the internal structure of the *** CFA results showed that the model fits the data ***,the ESDS is a robust and trustworthy psychometric tool that could be utilized to examine L2 speaking *** for diminishing EFL learners’demotivation,lessening their aversive emotions and promoting their mental health are also discussed.

Awareness of the adverse impact of air pollution on attention-related performance such as learning and driving is rapidly ***,there is still little known about the underlying neurocognitive *** an adapted dot-probe task paradigm and event-related potential(ERP)technique,we investigated how visual stimuli of air pollution influence the attentional allocation *** were required to make responses to the onset of a target presented at the left or right visual *** probable location of the target was forewarned by a cue(pollution or clean air images),appearing at either the target location(attention-holding trials)or the opposite location(attention-shifting trials).Behavioral measures showed that when cued by pollution images,subjects had higher response accuracy in attention-shifting *** analysis results revealed that after the cue onset,pollution images evoked lower N300 amplitudes,indicating less attentioncapturing effects of dirty *** the target onset,pollution cues were correlated with the higher P300 amplitudes in attention-holding trials but lower amplitudes in attention-shifting *** indicates that after visual exposure to air pollution,people need more neurocognitive resources to maintain attention but less effort to shift attention *** findings provide the first neuroscientific evidence for the distracting effect of air *** conclude with several practical implications and suggest the ERP technique as a promising tool to understand human responses to environmental stressors.

A Comparative Analysis of Syntactic Complexity in Applied Linguistics Abstracts Written by Chinese Novice Writers and Native English Advanced Writers

The rhetorical structure of abstracts has been a widely discussed topic, as it can greatly enhance the abstract writing skills of second-language writers. This study aims to provide guidance on the syntactic features that L2 learners can employ, as well as suggest which features they should focus on in English academic writing. To achieve this, all samples were analyzed for rhetorical moves using Hyland’s five-rhetorical move model. Additionally, all sentences were evaluated for syntactic complexity, considering measures such as global, clausal and phrasal complexity. The findings reveal that expert writers exhibit a more balanced use of syntactic complexity across moves, effectively fulfilling the rhetorical objectives of abstracts. On the other hand, MA students tend to rely excessively on embedded structures and dependent clauses in an attempt to increase complexity. The implications of these findings for academic writing research, pedagogy, and assessment are thoroughly discussed.

Both the fu(narrative)writers and novelists in the Han and Wei periods excelled in observing and selecting“situations”and forming intertextuality in text *** common structure shared by Han and Wei fu and novels features a question-and-answer format that contributes to the“fictionality”and narrative development and a“particularly brilliant ending”that is instrumental in providing wise advice and expressing *** works,through their classic themes,story arrangements,and plot settings in telling the tales of individuals or the supernatural,inspired novel creation in the Wei and Jin ***,fu works may contain novelistic allusions,while novels may quote fu works and contain stories involving fu *** are“similar in style and same in structure,”contributing to the prosperity of early Chinese literature through fictionality and exaggeration,with paradigmatic significance in the construction of“situations”in Chinese narrative literature.
