Effects of cross-Kerr coupling on transmission spectrum of double-cavity optomechanical system

We theoretically study the transmission spectrum of the cavity field in a double-cavity optomechanical system with cross-Kerr(CK) effect. The system consists of two tunneling coupling optomechanical cavities with a mechanical resonator as a coupling interface. By doping CK medium into the mechanical resonator, CK couplings between the cavity fields and the mechanical resonator are introduced. We investigate the effects of CK coupling strength on the transmission spectrum of the cavity field, including the transmission rate, nonreciprocity and four-wave mixing(FWM). We find that the transmission spectrum of the probe field can show two obvious transparent windows, which can be widened by increasing the CK coupling strength. For the transmission between the two cavity fields, the perfect nonreciprocity and reciprocity are present and modulated by CK coupling and phase difference between two effective optomechanical couplings. In addition, the effects of the optomechanical and CK couplings on FWM show that the single peak of FWM is split into three symmetrical peaks due to the introduction of the CK effect.

Tip-enhanced nano-spectroscopy and-imaging have significantly advanced our understanding of low-dimensional quantum materials and their interactions with light,providing a rich insight into the underlying physics at their natural length ***,various functionalities of the plasmonic tip expand the capabilities of the nanoscopy,enabling dynamic manipulation of light-matter interactions at the *** this review,we focus on a new paradigm of the nanoscopy,shifting from the conventional role of imaging and spectroscopy to the dynamical control approach of the tip-induced light-matter *** present three different approaches of tip-induced control of light-matter interactions,such as cavity-gap control,pressure control,and near-field polarization ***,we discuss the nanoscale modifications of radiative emissions for various emitters from weak to strong coupling regime,achieved by the precise engineering of the ***,we introduce recent works on light-matter interactions controlled by tip-pressure and near-field polarization,especially tunability of the bandgap,crystal structure,photoluminescence quantum yield,exciton density,and energy transfer in a wide range of quantum *** envision that this comprehensive review not only contributes to a deeper understanding of the physics of nanoscale light-matter interactions but also offers a valuable resource to nanophotonics,plasmonics,and materials science for future technological advancements.

Solid solutions are ubiquitous in metals and alloys. Local chemical ordering(LCO) is a fundamental sub-nano/nanoscale process that occurs in many solid solutions and can be used as a microstructure to optimize strength and ductility. However, the formation of LCO has not been fully elucidated, let alone how to provide efficient routes for designing LCO to achieve synergistic effects on both superb strength and ductility. Herein, we propose the formation and control of LCO in negative enthalpy alloys. With engineering negative enthalpy in solid solutions, genetic LCO components are formed in negative enthalpy refractory high-entropy alloys(RHEAs). In contrast to conventional ‘trial-and-error' approaches, the control of LCO by using engineering negative enthalpy in RHEAs is instructive and results in superior strength(1160 MPa) and uniform ductility(24.5%) under tension at ambient temperature, which are among the best reported so far. LCO can promote dislocation cross-slip, enhancing the interaction between dislocations and their accumulation at large tensile strains; sustainable strain hardening can thereby be attained to ensure high ductility of the alloy. This work paves the way for new research fields on negative enthalpy solid solutions and alloys for the synergy of strength and ductility as well as new functions.

The characteristics of the extracted ion current have a significant impact on the design and testing of ion source *** this paper,a 2D in space and 3D in velocity space particle in cell(2D3V PIC)method is utilized to simulate plasma motion and ion extraction characteristics under various initial plasma velocity distributions and extraction voltages in a Cartesian coordinate *** plasma density is of the order of 10^(15)m^(-3)-10^(16)m^(-3)and the extraction voltage is of the order of 100 V-1000 *** study investigates the impact of various extraction voltages on the velocity and density distributions of electrons and positive ions,and analyzes the influence of different initial plasma velocity distributions on the extraction *** simulation results reveal that the main reason for the variation of extraction current is the spacecharge force formed by the relative aggregation of positive and negative net *** lays the foundation for a deeper understanding of extraction beam characteristics.

The spatial distributions of different kinds of ions are usually not completely the same in the process of *** order to study the reason for the different characteristics of ion extraction, a simplified simulation model of Cu+ andCr+ ions extraction process was established by 2D3V (two-dimensional in space and three- dimensional in velocity space)particle-in-cell (PIC) method. The effects of different extraction voltages from 0 V to 500 V on the density distribution ofCu+ and Cr+ ions and the change of plasma emission surface were analyzed. On the basis of this model, the ion densitydistribution characteristics of Cu+ ions mixed with Li+, Mg+, K+, Fe+, Y+, Ag+, Xe+, Au+, and Pb+ ions respectivelyunder 200-V extraction voltage are further simulated, and it is revealed that the atomic mass of the ions is the key reason fordifferent ion density distributions when different kinds of ions are mixed and extracted, which provides support for furtherunderstanding of ion extraction characteristics.

Several pulsar timing array(PTA) collaborations have recently reported the evidence for a stochastic gravitational-wave background(SGWB), which can unveil the formation of primordial seeds of inhomogeneities in the early universe. With the SGWB parameters inferred from PTAs data, we can make a prediction of the seeds for early galaxy formation from the domain walls in the axion-like particles(ALPs) field distribution. This also naturally provides a solution to the observation of high redshifts by the James Webb Space Telescope. The predicted photon coupling of the ALP is within the reach of future experimental searches.

We investigated ^(50,52-54)Cr-induced fusion reactions for the synthesis of the superheavy element in the 104≤Z≤122 *** cross sections produced in this investigation using ^(54)Cr projectiles were compared with those obtained in prior *** estimated cross sections from this analysis are consistent with the findings of prior *** the current study,the predicted cross section was found to be 42fb at 236 MeV for ^(53)Cr+^(243)Am,23.2 fb at 236 MeV for ^(54)Cr+^(247)Cm,95.6 fb at 240 MeV for ^(53)Cr+248Bk,and 1.33 fb at 242 MeV for ^(53)Cr+***,these projected cross sections with excitation energy and beam energy will be useful in future Cr-induced fusion reaction investigations.

Non-Hermitian systems with parity–time(PT)-symmetry have been extensively studied and rapidly developed in resonance wireless power transfer(WPT).The WPT system that satisfies PT-symmetry always has real eigenvalues,which promote efficient energy ***,meeting the condition of PT-symmetry is one of the most puzzling *** power transfer under different transmission conditions is also a great *** state in the continuum(BIC)supporting extreme quality-factor mode provides an opportunity for efficient ***,we propose theoretically and demonstrate experimentally that BIC widely exists in resonance-coupled systems without PT-symmetry,and it can even realize more stable and efficient power transfer than PT-symmetric ***,BIC for efficient WPT is universal and suitable in standard second-order and even high-order WPT *** results not only extend non-Hermitian physics beyond PT-symmetry,but also bridge the gap between BIC and practical application engineering,such as highperformance WPT,wireless sensing and communications.
