A novel method based on the cross-modality intersecting features of the palm-vein and the palmprint is proposed for identity *** on the unique geometrical relationship between the two biometric modalities,the cross-modality intersecting points provides a stable set of features for identity *** facilitate flexibility in template changes,a template transformation is *** maintaining non-invertibility,the template transformation allows transformation sizes beyond that offered by the con-ventional *** experiments using three public palm databases are conducted to verify the effectiveness the proposed system for identity recognition.

Analog feature extraction(AFE)is an appealing strategy for low-latency and efficient cognitive sensing systems since key features are much sparser than the Nyquist-sampled ***,applying AFE to broadband radio-frequency(RF)scenarios is challenging due to the bandwidth and programmability bottlenecks of analog electronic ***,we introduce a photonics-based scheme that extracts spatiotemporal features from broadband RF signals in the analog *** feature extractor structure inspired by convolutional neural networks is implemented on integrated photonic circuits to process RF signals from multiple antennas,extracting valid features from both temporal and spatial *** of the tunability of the photonic devices,the photonic spatiotemporal feature extractor is trainable,which enhances the validity of the extracted ***,a digital-analog-hybrid transfer learning method is proposed for the effective and low-cost training of the photonic feature *** validate our scheme,we demonstrate a radar target recognition task with a 4-GHz instantaneous *** results indicate that the photonic analog feature extractor tackles broadband RF signals and reduces the sampling rate of analog-to-digital converters to 1/4 of the Nyquist sampling while maintaining a high target recognition accuracy of 97.5%.Our scheme offers a promising path for exploiting the AFE strategy in the realm of cognitive RF sensing,with the potential to contribute to the efficient signal processing involved in applications such as autonomous driving,robotics,and smart factories.

The current study examines the significant determinants of electricity consumption and identifies an appropriate model to forecast the electricity price *** main contribution is focused on eastern region of Saudi Arabia,a relatively hottest geographical area full of energy resources but with different electricity consumption *** relative irrelevance of temperature as predicting factor of electricity consumption is quite surprising and contradicts the previous *** the eastern region,electricity price has negative association with electricity *** comparing traditional and machine learning,it is found that machine learning techniques offer better *** the machine learning techniques,the support vector machine has the lowest errors in forecasting the electricity ***,the support vector machine approach is used to forecast the trend of carbon emissions caused by electricity *** findings have policy implications and offer valuable suggestions to policymakers while addressing the determinants of electricity consumption and forecasting electricity prices.

In this paper,a combined robust fault detection and isolation scheme is studied for satellite system subject to actuator faults,external disturbances,and parametric *** proposed methodology incorporates a residual generation module,including a bank of filters,into an intelligent residual evaluation ***,residual filters are designed based on an improved nonlinear differential algebraic approach so that they are not affected by external *** residual evaluation module is developed based on the suggested series and parallel ***,a new ensemble classification scheme defined as blended learning integrates heterogeneous classifiers to enhance the performance.A wide range of simulations is carried out in a high-fidelity satellite simulator subject to the constant and time-varying actuator faults in the presence of disturbances,manoeuvres,uncertainties,and *** obtained results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed robust fault detection and isolation method compared to the traditional nonlinear differential algebraic approach.

The global economy relies heavily on oil production,but it is not without *** the period of economic globalization,the revenue and costs associated with oil production have become disjointed,which has had a detrimental effect on the *** a result,environmental protection has been compromised,environmental regulations have been weakened,natural resources have been exploited,and climate change has been *** study examines the impact of revenue minus the production cost of oil,energy use,and shadow economy on environmental degradation in APEC countries from 1991 to 2020,using the economic globalization index as a moderating *** result explains that revenue minus the oil production cost and the shadow economy are negatively associated with environmental *** use and economic globalization are positively associated with environmental degradation in APEC *** minus the production cost of oil and shadow economy improve the *** use and economic globalization degrade the environment in APEC *** are encouraged to advance technologies and upgrade infrastructure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions;also,promoting energy-efficient practices in other sectors,like transportation and manufacturing,could contribute to a healthier environment.
