Corporate Social Responsibility： An Analysis on Consumer Perception

The purpose of this paper is to consider and analyze the profile of modem consumer （careful to consequences of its purchasing decisions in terms of social, ethical and environmental aspects）, in order to identify the role of corporate social responsibility （CSR） for consumer through a study on critical, ethical and responsible purchase of food products. The problem is investigated empirically through a choice experiment method, which is a stated preference method based on a household survey, and through the analysis of the survey on consumer perception. In the food industry, the choice of goods and services requires the consumer decisions that seem to be increasingly dependent on factors not attributable only to the quality/price relationship, instead, they also involve issues directly related to ethics, environment and protection of labor. Today, companies do not limit themselves to undertake CSR, but often they choose to bring the stakeholders aware of such conduct, in an attempt to improve corporate reputation and business results. Therefore, it is to outline a synergy between companies＇ businesses and consumer＇s choice. The findings are based on data from an Italian region, and as such are not directly extendable elsewhere, although they may result to be of interest to other industrialized areas. The paper offers a comprehensive view of relationship between consumers and theme of social responsibility, and how they interface with firms （especially agri-food big companies） and their products; role that CSR plays in relation to the impact it can have on the consumption of food products from buyers; importance that the consumer gives to CSR when purchasing a food product and consumers＇ receptiveness towards sustainable strategies; knowledge degree of particular food categories; consumer willingness to purchase ethically oriented companies＇ products.

Modeling the growth and policy implications of Global System for Mobile Telecommunication （GSM） in Nigeria

This paper investigated the growth and policy implications of Global System for Mobile Communication in Nigeria. Stochastic economic modeling was used to analyze Nigeria＇s time series data. The models were adjudged reliable before they were used. The components of the model were defined and a prior expectation of the relationship among the variables explained for the purpose of giving the reviewers and users a deep insight into the phenomenon under study. The secondary data used for the study were processed using the E-View for windows electronic packages. The outcome of the empirical and stochastic investigations shows that Global System for Mobile Communication has a positive relationship with output growth in Nigeria. The impact is of a higher magnitude. The usage of Global System for Mobile Telecommunication led to 17 percent rise in the output growth. The findings suggest the need for the Nigerian Communication Commission （NCC） and the federal government of Nigeria to expand tele-density and directly make telephone communications cheap and accessible. To achieve this goal, more licenses should be given to GSM operators in order to allow for healthy competition among them. This will lead to improved quality of services, quality of product and consequently sustain the growth and development of the country.

Eco-compensation of Wetlands in Yellow River Delta of Shandong Province,China

Wetlands play an important ecological role and provide many functions for people, yet wetlands are cur- rently decreasing and deteriorating. The ability to calculate an economic value for the loss of wetlands is becoming in- creasingly important for policy makers. In this study, remote sensing, field investigations, department visits, and other methods were used to survey wetland types, assess wetland area changes, and calculate wetland economic value. Mar- ket value loss and ecological ftmction value loss, caused by reduction of wetland area and environmental pollution were calculated using commonly accepted methods of market valuation, ecological valuation, environmental protection investment cost analysis, and outcome parameters. According to market value loss and ecological function value loss, preliminarily fund allocation for wetland and ecological compensation was calculated. This will provide an important reference for future Yellow River Delta eco-compensation studies.

Production response to price risk and market liberalization of Nigerian major agricultural crops

This study models supply response for major agricultural crops in Nigeria which include the standard arguments and price risk. The data comes from Central Bank of Nigeria annual reports and statement of account, National Bureau of Statistics＇ abstract of statistics and annual Agricultural survey manual. The data are analyzed using autoregressive distributed lag and cointegration and error correction models. The results indicate that producers are responsive not only to price but also to price risk and exchange rate.

Economic Analysis of the Internalization the Externalities in Environmental Goods

The environment is characterized as a public good. Public goods are goods that provide benefits for society as a whole or part of it, usually regardless of whether the individual people are willing to pay to have these benefits. This proposed project is not viable in profitable terms to private enterprise, so it applied a modified version of the CVM （Contingent Valuation Method） to realize this project. The purpose of the paper is to present a modified model of an internalizing external costs caused by the operation of a manufacturing unit in conjunction with the new reality created. Using the CBA （Cost-Benefit Analysis）, all critical parameters problem attributed to a single base assessment, which facilitates decision making process. The basis of evaluation is to compare benefits and costs. It is used the CVM in case study and the results show that there is less sensitivity for restoration of the cultural heritage monuments in comparison with the sensitivity for restoration of the natural and urban environment in general.

Economic Valuation of Environmental Services： Increasing the Effectiveness of PES Schemes in Developing Countries？

Payments for ecosystem service （PES） schemes have spread all over developing countries in the last 20 years or so. PES schemes often have high opportunity costs in terms of foregone uses of goods and services offered by the environment. It is within this scope that economic evaluation of environmental goods and services plays a role. In this paper we surveyed articles and studies that report application of economic environmental valuation procedures in PES schemes. Special attention was paid to data collection and analysis, to theoretical robustness of its procedures and to the aggregation of estimated value. We also scrutinize how these estimates had been incorporated into PES schemes, in particularly in the assessment phase of these schemes. Empirical data from Brazil and other Latin American countries were used, particularly those in the Amazon Basis. Our results reveal a frequent overestimation of the values of ecosystem services calculated through the use of economic valuation methods. Values have been estimated by production function methods （opportunity cost, preventive expenditures, recovering cost or dose-response methods）. As a consequence, estimated values reflect much more willingness to accept compensation by supplier and rarely willingness to pay by consumer of these ecosystem services. Besides this distance between supply and demand, application of valuation methods did not account for problems such as uncertainty, risks, and lack of information. All these limitations have led to wrong decision-making.

Prospects for China ＇s Industrial Development and Restructuring during 2011-2015

China＇s industrialization ＆ currently in the second half of the intermediate stage and is moving rapidly towards the late stage. It is expected that China ＇s industrial level will reach the first half of the late industrialization stage during the 12th Five-Year Plan period. Meanwhile, China ＇s heavy industries will grow, advanced manufacturing will accelerate, strategic emerging industries will be rapidly cultivated and interaction between informationization and industrialization will gain momentum. As regards industry restructuring, outmoded industries will be phased out in favor of advanced industries; merging and reorganization as well as differentiated development of large enterprises and SMEs will be the keystone of industrial organization adjustment; technical renovation and independent innovation will be the focus of adjustment of the technical structure： and the industrial layout will highlight agglomerated development, implementation of coastal development strategies and construction of primary function areas.

Effects of Location Diversification and Corporate Governance on Multinational Enterprises＇ Financial Performance and Risk-taking： Evidence from Taiwan Residents Enterprises

This study investigates the location choice performance of foreign direct investment （FD1） originating from small- and medium-sized multinational enterprises established in newly industrialized economies. In this study we integrate location diversification, breadth and corporate governance to examine the performance of Taiwan Residents enterprises investing in Chinese mainland. Examining Taiwan Residents manufacturing enterprises from foundational, traditional and high-technology aspects, our findings demonstrate the following：（i） diversifying the location choice negatively affects the return of assets; （ii） investments in regions with an abundant population positively affect the performance of Taiwan Residents traditional manufacturing enterprises; and （iii） a higher percentage of insider hoMings in Taiwan Residents enterprises results in better FDl performance. We conclude that the performance of FDI originating from Taiwan Residents enterprises varies depending on industrial and governance characteristics. We suggest that the location choice for Taiwan FDI in Chinese mainland should be determined by the characteristics of the industry. Chinese mainland should attract multinational enterprises from emerging markets according to the characteristics of regions.
