A real-world study of the differences in Traditional chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment rules for coronavirus disease 2019 between Northern and Southern China

OBJECTIVE: To explore the differences in Traditional chinese medicine(TCM) diagnosis and treatment rules for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) between Northern and Southern China based on the real-world data from 982 COVID-19 patients. METHODS: All consecutive cases of COVID-19 admitted to the TCM department of designated COVID-19 hospitals in eight provinces and cities were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into a Northern and a Southern group according to the location of the admitting hospital. The symptoms, syndrome elements, syndrome distribution and herbal treatments were analyzed. The core prescriptions were extracted using the multiscale backbone-based network comparison algorithm(msbNC). RESULTS: The distribution of syndrome elements showed that dampness was common in Northern and Southern China, wind and heat were more often present in the South, while fire toxin and spleen deficiency were more often encountered in the North. The distribution of syndromes showed that the South was dominated by heat dampness accumulating in the lung(55.69%), while the North was dominated by dampness-toxin stagnating in the lung(44.90%).The results of core prescription mining showed that dispelling dampness, dispersing wind, clearing heat and strengthening spleen were the common treatment methods in Northern and Southern China. For mild cases, Jinyinhua(Flos Lonicerae) and Lianqiao(Fructus Forsythiae Suspensae) were often used in the South to clear heat and relieve exterior symptoms, while Chaihu(Radix Bupleuri Chinensis) and Huangqin(Radix Scutellariae Baicalensis) were often used in the North to relieve muscles by expelling heat. For moderate cases, Chaihu(Radix Bupleuri Chinensis), Qinghao(Herba Artemisiae Annuae), and Shigao(Gypsum Fibrosum) were often used to clear heat of Tri-jiao Channel and stomach in the South, while Fuling(Poria), Chenpi(Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae), and Dangshen(Radix Codonopsis) were often used to invigorate spleen and remove damp

Risk factors,prognostic factors,and nomograms for distant metastasis in patients with diagnosed duodenal cancer:A population-based study

Benefit-Risk Assessment of chinese medicine Injections for Primary Liver Cancer Based on Multi-criteria Decision Analysis

ObjectiveTo evaluate the benefit-risk of 3 commonly used chinese medicine injections, Aidi Injection (ADI), Cinobufagin Injection (CINI) and Compound Kushen Injection (CKI), in the treatment of primary liver cancer (PLC), so as to provide a reference for clinical *** controlled trials (RCTs) of ADI, CINI and CKI in the treatment of PLC published in the databases of China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, China Science and Technology Journal Database, SinoMed, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science were retrieved from January 2020 to October 2022. The data of benefit and risk indicators were combined to obtain the effect value. The multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) model was applied to build the decision tree. The benefit value, risk value and benefit risk value of the 3 injections in PLC treatment were calculated. Monte Carlo simulation was carried out to calculate the 95% confidence interval and probability of differences among the 3 injections, so as to optimize the evaluation *** total of 71 RCTs were included. The benefit values of ADI, CINI and CKI combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) were 42, 38 and 36, respectively. The risk values were 42, 25 and 37, respectively. The benefit risk values were 42, 31 and 37, respectively. The benefit risk differences of ADI vs. CINI, ADI vs. CKI, and CKI vs. CINI were 11 (−0.86, 17.75), 5 (−5.01, 11.09), and 6 (−1.87, 12.63), respectively. The probability that ADI superior to CINI, ADI superior to CKI, and CKI superior to CINI was 96.26%, 77.27%, and 92.62%, *** on the results of MCDA model, CINI combined with TACE has the greatest risk in the treatment of the PLC. Considering the efficacy and safety, the possible priority of the 3 chinese medicine injections combined with TACE in the treatment of PLC is ADI, CKI and CINI.

Hemostatic mechanism of Jianpi Yiqi Shexue decoction(健脾益气摄血方) in treatment of immune thrombocytopenia

OBJECTIVE: To explore the early hemostatic mechanism of Jianpi Yiqi Shexue decoction(健脾益气摄血方, JYSD) in treating immune thrombocytopathy(ITP), based on the functional homeostasis of brain-intestine axis and blood neurotransmitter METHODS: Non-drug treatment cases: Healthy volunteers were selected as normal control group and compared with patients with dysfunctional uterine bleeding, gastrointestinal tumors with bleeding and ITP, to detect the changes of blood 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT), β-endorphin(β-EP), vasoactive intestinal peptide(VIP) and compare the changes of blood neurotransmitters in patients with different disease symptoms. Drug treatment cases: According to the randomized controlled multicenter clinical trial, 272 ITP patients were randomly divided into three groups: treatment group(JYSD) combined group(JYSD + Prednisone) control group(Prednisone). The changes of blood neurotransmitter(5-HT, β-EP, VIP) before and after treatment were detected on the basis of peripheral blood platelet(PLT) and grade score. RESULTS: Non-drug treatment cases: compared with the normal control group, the 5-HT level was higher, and the VIP and β-EP levels were both lower in the ITP group(P < 0.001), and the 5-HT, VIP and β-EP levels in the Gastrointestinal tumors with bleeding group were also lower compared with the normal control group(P < 0.05, 0.001). Drug treatment cases: The PLT grading scores of the combination group and the control group after treatment were lower than that before treatment(P < 0.05, 0.001). The PLT grading score of the 3 groups were compared in pairs after treatment: the combination group was the lowest among the 3 groups, which was better than the treatment group, but no better than the control group(vs the treatment group, P = 0.005, vs the control group, P = 0.709). Isorhamnetin Downregulates MMP2 and MMP9 to Inhibit Development of Rheumatoid Arthritis through SRC/ERK/CREB Pathway
