Polaron interfacial entropy as a route to high thermoelectric performance in DAE-doped PEDOT:PSS films

Enhancing the thermoelectric transport properties of conductive polymer materials has been a long-term challenge, in spite of the success seen with molecular doping strategies. However, the strong coupling between the thermopower and the electrical conductivity limits thermoelectric performance. Here, we use polaron interfacial occupied entropy engineering to break through this intercoupling for a PEDOT:PSS(poly（3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene）-poly（4-styrenesulfonate）) thin film by using photochromic diarylethene（DAE） dopants coupled with UV-light modulation. With a 10-fold enhancement of the thermopower from 13.5 μV K-1to 135.4 μV K-1and almost unchanged electrical conductivity, the DAE-doped PEDOT:PSS thin film achieved an extremely high power factor of 521.28 μW m-1K-2from an original value of 6.78 μW m-1K-2. The thermopower was positively correlated with the UV-light intensity but decreased with increasing temperature, indicating resonant coupling between the planar closed DAE molecule and PEDOT. Both the experiments and theoretical calculations consistently confirmed the formation of an interface state due to this resonant coupling. Interfacial entropy engineering of polarons could play a critical role in enhancing the thermoelectric performance of the organic film.

Meningeal lymphatic vessels(mLVs)play a pivotal role in regulating metabolic waste from cerebrospinal fluid(CSF).However,the current limitations in field of view and resolution of existing imaging techniques impede understanding the stereoscopic morphology and dynamic behavior of mLVs in ***,we utilized dual-contrast functional photoacoustic microscopy to achieve wide-field intravital imaging of the lymphatic system,including mLVs and glymphatic *** stereoscopic photoacoustic microscopy based on opto-acoustic confocal features has a depth imaging capability of 3.75 mm,facilitating differentiation between mLVs on the meninges and glymphatic pathways within the brain ***,using this imaging technique,we were able to visualize the dynamic drainage of mLVs and identify a peak drainage period occurring around 20–40 min after injection,along with determining the flow direction from CSF to lymph ***,in the Alzheimer’s disease(AD)mouse model,we observed that AD mice exhibit a~70%reduction in drainage volume of mLVs compared to wild-type *** the development of AD,there is be continued decline in mLVs drainage *** finding clearly demonstrates that the AD mouse model has impaired CSF *** study opens up a horizon for understanding the brain’s drainage mechanism and dissecting mLVs-associated neurological disorders.

Background:Accurate quantification of 17-hydroxyprogesterone(17-OHP)in serum is vital for clinical and research ***,inter-laboratory variability in test results exists owing to the lack of a standardized reference measurement procedure(RMP).Therefore,in this study,we developed a highly accurate,cost-effective,and user-friendly candidate RMP(cRMP)for analyzing 17-OHP in ***:We quantified 17-OHP in serum using a one-step liquid–liquid extraction method with the addition of 17-OHP-^(13)C_(3),followed by liquid chromatography–tandem mass *** ability of these methods to suppress interference was evaluated by chromatographic *** assessed accuracy,specificity,the lower limit of quantitation,linearity,and matrix effects by following the standards specified by the Clinical and laboratory Standards *** consistency between the developed cRMP and the chemiluminescence method was evaluated through experiments with 120 clinical ***:The developed cRMP required only 8 min for accurate quantification of serum 17-OHP without bias from matrix effects or interference from 19 metabolites added as potential *** method exhibited favorable measurement performance,with a quantitation limit of 0.086 ng/mL,linear range of 0.1–400 ng/mL,a total imprecision of≤2.90%,spike recovery of 100.1%–100.6%,and relative deviations from assigned target values(RfB Institution)of−2.91%to 1.10%.The cRMP demonstrated good consistency with the conventional assay(chemiluminescence method),with a correlation coefficient R of ***:A cRMP with high accuracy,cost-effectiveness,and convenient operation was developed for quantifying 17-OHP in *** simplicity and robust performance make it an invaluable addition to the arsenal of analytical tools available for *** method can enhance the accuracy and reliability of 17-OHP measurements across various laboratories.
